One of the mainstays in my vape rotation is a diy mix of Space Jams Andromeda. I actually made a small bottle of it recently rather than my recipe because it was quick and easy, and i really like it.
I learned diy from the dinosaurs of diy mixology. In this case, more than 2. The original creator of this recipe, the original clone (if it wasn't stolen), and any mixer who posted changes to adjust the recipe to their tastes. (Clearly it makes me a 5th generation dinosaur.)
My process was simple. Mix as close as possible to the recipe to get an idea of where they were going, and then number 2. While vaping the recipe, as yourself questions. Wow I like this but, what if I added this flavor nuance to it? (Another recipe will clearly show this later.) What if I used a different flavor manufacturer?
Mixing to me grew into nuances of flavor, or feel.
I had three goals with my mixing. 1. Don't go back to smoking, and get quality vape to help that goal (save money, except you probably won't until down the road, because of the diy shinyitis of new flavors). 2. Mix to your own tastes. Don't be afraid to try, a lot of mixing is luck, and after learning its disciplined luck. 3. Make somthing your own, on your own. (Impossible after educating yourself in diy because you're really standing in dinosaur tracks).
Once someone, (original creator), posts their recipe publicly online they really don't care how you adapt their mixes to your tastes.
I read much of the mixologists works and studied "trends". I looked for flavor combinations which worked for them. For example, the combo of Tpa Straberry Ripe with another Strawberry. Bilberry and blueberries. Creams, vanillas and etc.
Nuances. Now that I've used nuances twice in the same recipe, I have reached the end of my refined palate, while finding only a dozen taste buds (I didn't have to take my shoes off to count them, most of us 'round here don't wear shoes, much less afford them).
Smoking dulls the taste buds in my experience. Its one reason why people gain weight after quitting. Doing something with your hands like when you smoked is another. Vape solved that one for me, until I no longer needed those mental and muscle memory issues solved. The taste buds issue, (insert joke), resolved itself in solving the food issue for me because as was my routine, you light cig after a meal. I just usually vaped a flavor of dessert, and skipped eating the calories.
Losing weight was a side effect for me of vape and I don't recommend anyone to vape purely for weight loss. Vape is nicotine replacement. One of the most addictive chemicals I have ever experienced. In my case, the only one i recall except breathing.
I laugh at taste buds. Mine and yours. Some recipes will make you ask, "Do you really vape that crap?" Others will make you thank them for a taste of their nirvana. Personal preferences is diy. Every vape is a matter of personal taste. A highly promoted vape could be awful to you and a nirvana to someone else.
Posting my recipes reminded me of how much fun mixing was. While I do recall the frustrations of trial and error, they also create a smile from making somthing you really like.
I posted this recipe under a word "Andromeda", which most mixers will recognize. I told you how I reached the recipe, with my personal tastes of nuances. I've explained my goals. (Tip : don't step in fresh dinosaur dung).
I'm thinking, "this ain't right". I shouldn't name this recipe after that one. But this is pure diy. I'm not making this recipe here to sell, it's one for my personal stash. I'm posting it as an example of what is possible with any vape recipe.
Now I'm standing inside a large dinosaur track and can barely peek over the top. When you use anothers recipe, and enhance or nuance it, you're standing in a large dinosaur track you found.
I thought perhaps the name "Tribute" would be fitting, because I did follow along the beaten path of diy mixologists.
Maybe I should have titled the post "Dinosaur Tracks". You have to figure, there's going to be a name branded vape with the same name no matter what I use. For me, when I think about this name and the earth at the time, the flavor profile doesn't fit.
But "Moon, Mars, or Planetary Tracks, etc", might work. I can't tell you how old our planet really is, but watching science fiction tv shows makes me wonder if our evolution isn't found somewhere out there in space. Tracks on another planet haven't been discovered by mankind, yet, or maybe never. Growing up we were led to believe the moon was made of green cheese and that there was a man living there. Santa Clause is real, don't even debate that one with me.
How about "Revisited"? Nah.
How about "Simple Man"? (Just a few minutes ago I listened to a version of Lynard Skynard's song by that name on my cell phone radio).
I'm still trying to peek over the top of this dinosaur track. So here goes:
ANDROMEDA -G

Tpa Vanillin. 2%

I now question the "sweetner". Should be able to adjust the recipe where this coil gunker isn't needed. Then again, it doesnt hurt to have a recipe with the "Nuance" of a true sweetner. (I know, my repeated use of this word is an illusion of my true soul).
Acai Berry is an under rated flavor, and maybe over used in this recipe. I read up on mixologists opinions of this flavor, found it in versions and used it.
Blueberries. I hadn't discovered Bilberry at this point in my diy.
Marshmallow works with Blueberries. It's a trend for me.
Vanillin must be there. FA Vanilla classic was an attempt by me to make the vape a little more away from a fruity vape towards a fruity/creamy vape.
You could probably go over the acceptable limits of flavor content to Cheesecake, Cupcake, Cookie, Vanilla or Cream this recipe and then use the one shot method (explained in my FROOT recipe), by combining the flavors and using from this mix. It's diy.
I put this recipe in my file to revisit. Space Jam Andromeda is a 5 star recipe to my tastes. Like I stated earlier, I have a new bottle of THAT mix and not my own on my desk. Simple diy.
