Hey - I just started vaping recently, and am fairly clueless. I have an iTaste vv 3 on its way to me and a bunch of the cheaper plastic cartomizers. I also ordered a whole bunch of samples and some of them look like they are tank-crackers. What would be the best way to go for a cheap, crack-proof tank? I'd prefer not to get into trying to learn how to build coils or anything like that, but it looks like replacing the heads is really easy.. You just buy the new ones and swap them out, correct? I can probably handle that. Most of my samples are max VG as I don't really care for throat hit and 0 or very low nic, if that makes any difference. Any advice is welcome and thanks so much!

ETA: Oops, can't change the missed word in the title!

I also use Protank Mini 2s on my VV3s (mostly with 50/50 PG/VG), and I'm very fond of the combo. It took a little experience and fiddling to get my game 100% down with them, but now I rarely ever have any trouble and they're like comfortable old shoes.

In a nutshell: Long, steady draws work best; check the coil head to make sure it's screwed in securely whenever you refill the tank; remove a flavor wick, or both flavor wicks, and/or the silicone cap if you are consistently getting dry hits with thicker e-liquids; blow up through the drip tip of the unattached tank (holding it up over your head) to clear liquid or condensation from the chimney and tip if you are getting gurgling, spitting and liquid in your mouth, or you can run a pipe cleaner through it. I recycle my coil heads by cleaning and gently dry-burning.

I'm glad my research was pointing me in the right direction. I was looking at the mini protank II (but was worried about the max VG as BostonVape noted), the Aspire ETS ( i can't link, but it's this one - discountvapers.com/aspire-et-s-bdc-glassomizer-purple/ which is the same as this one, correct? vapingme.com/aspire-pyrex-et-s-bdc-ego-2-0ml-tank-just-wow/) and finally this one, although I think the tank is too big for someone who's still doing lots of sampling vapingme.com/aspire-vivi-nova-s-pyrex-glass-bdc-3-5ml-tank-wow/ I did buy a bridgeless drip atomizer so I can make sure I don't hate something before filling a whole tank with it, so maybe the vivi would be OK? Thanks for all the responses!!!

If you intend to just just keep buying replacement atomizers all the time consider a cartotank setup.

However, with clearomizers like the miniprotanks, aspires, vivinovas, aro, etc, you have the option to:
1: totally rebuild
2: rewick only
3: partially rewick
4: just wash/soak

to prolong the life of the replacement coil.

I have the same battery and you and also use max VG. I use both the Aspire ETS and Kanger Mini Pro II. I have not had wicking issues with either. I do occasionally take a pull on it without hitting the button to prime the coil and rarely get a burnt tasting hit. I order from this vender WORLDofVAPE - Best Vape - Best Price. You can get an Aspire ETS for about $6.50 and they also have good prices for replacement coils.

I definitely recommend the Kanger Pro-tanks if you want to take the time to rebuild the coil after the first one craps out on you. Its definitely worth it if you rebuild it, but if you don't want to take the time to rebuild the coil then I would go with the iClear 30s or 30b. I got one with my Itaste VTR and its an amazing tank. I was very surprised with the performance and I can run it at about 12 watts with the 2.1 ohm coil and get great performance from it.

I did look at the iClear 30 since I have an iClear 16 already but decided on the protank in the end, still, I'll add the 30 to my wishlist :)

And that's my 5th newbie post :)

Haha ya I'm trying to get my post count up and get verified as well. Also look into the itaste VTR. Its a super solid VV/VW and it fits with most tanks that you are looking at. I've had great performance with it, think you might like it.

Thanks Spike

I'll look into it, I just hope that buying cool new vaping kit costs me less than smoking :)

I must admit that I haven't completely stopped yet, I need a real cigarette first thing in the morning and usually after a meal but I've cut down hugely.

I did try one of those e-cigs that looks like a real one but that was just useless, the vv3 is a totally different experience.

Ya honestly the little ones that look like cigs are like a cool way to get introduced to the whole vaping scene but I never recommend those to people who I'm trying to get into vaping. The best way to start is like a VV/VW or an Ego battery. Plus I watch GrimmGreen a lot to figure out what the best products are :) Hey and don't worry about it, I kept on my cigs for a little while until I got my setup dialed in. Once I figured out what nic level I liked and flavors were good though I kicked it completely. I always switch too between my variables and my mech mods, just different performance.
