K, I'm going to play devils advocate here and toss another recommendation into the mix...

The Smok Tech Aro v2.

I originally was a Kanger PT fan. But... I kept breaking the tanks. When I moved to smaller PVS, I realized I was going to be dropping them a lot more and that even the mini PT probably wasn't the smartest option for me. So I went the glassomizer route and got an Evod. Which I loved, but then I noticed the Aro and decided to test it out. Now it's not only topped the Evod for me but the PT too.

It handles any ratio of juice I throw at it beautifully. Never dry hits, never gurgles, never leaks, produces tons of vapor, and has perfect air flow straight out of the box. The built in drip tip is more discreet and natural feeling than any of the Kanger ones I've tried. It also doesn't seem to burn through juice nearly as quickly as my Evod did. The heads are pretty much the same and just as easy to rebuild.

The experience is so different from Kanger PT/Evod I would recommend getting both just to get your preferences straight. At $6 it's not a piggy bank breaker at all.

Well, I decided I would try this one out first because the price was so great and the seller seemed reputable. I've got (ahem) wayyyyyy too much vape mail on the way for now. I'm sure I'll be trying the Aspire and/or the Aro soon or will just learn how to rebuild stuff. I used to make jewelry so I'm fairly sure I've got most of the needed tools on hand. I just don't want to spend time obsessively researching how to do it all right now, because I fall down those rabbit holes pretty quickly and am super busy. Really appreciate all the help and glad that it seems to be helping out a lot of us newbies!

Well, all this talk has been enlightening, confusing, and downright frustrating. Here I was thinking, "Oh, I'll just splurge on a new device like a vv3 or MVP (or both)," and now you all have me thinking about buying up a bunch of glassomizers to replace my 5 MT3's. Damn.

For what it's worth, I saw (after I already had purchased the iTaste) a lot of people suggesting the combo packs from Steam Monkey. I believe both their mvp and vv3 packages come with mini protank 2s and there prices are better than anwhere else I've seen them. Hope you can benefit from my loss!! =)

Thanks for the tip, Shelley! I was going to go with a dual buy (vv3 and mvp2) on 101vape (total $66 for mods+1 iClear30) but now I'll have to weigh that against SteamMonkey ($80 for the mods+1 mPT2 or $90 for the mods+2 mPT2s). If 101vape had the mPT2s in stock the price would be the same (but I'd also have the iClear30). Decisions! :D

I have a mini protank II, and I love it. I've got another one on the way from Mt. Baker (with an iTaste MVP to replace my eGo setup!) because I was getting frustrated with only having one glass tank to put potential tank-cracking juices in.. I haven't had any issues at all with mine, and replacing spent coils is a breeze. If you do break the glass, you can purchase a new glass tube for around $3 from several places on the interwebs

Don't throw away your old coils! As has been said, they are rebuildable... I'm trying hard not to buy some kanthal wire and organic cotton balls right now, considering I just bought new vape equipment last night lol.

Madvapes.com has all the colors. Another site that sells them is discountvapers.com but I think they only sell the black or the polished steel version. Make sure you get the v2 and not the pyrex v1 (the first version had some serious and annoying design flaws). The easy way to tell the difference is the v1 holds 3ml and the v2 holds 2ml.

What are the flaws in the v1????
And the v2 is plastic I believe, isn't it?

edit:
oh; seems to be pyrex according to discountvapers: that's good.
Product Description

Smoktech Pyrex ARO II - Magenta
Smoktech calls this pink, but it's more like magenta

The ARO II is a PYREX Glass bottom coil clearomizer tank by Smok Tech similar to the Evod but this is made with Pyrex. With the pyrex you can use any liquid without worrying if the tank will crack.

The ARO II is eGo threaded to work with most eGo style batteries. These work very well on all the eGo series batteries, incuding the eGo Twist batteries, although in my initial experience it seems to be a bit stiff threading on.
The coil is at the bottom of the tank, providing a nice vapor, with a excellent flavor, and eliminates most wicking problems.

The ARO II comes with :
1 x 2.0ml Tank Assembly with permanently attached Mouthpiece.
Note Smoktech reports it's a 2ml clearo, I get 1.5-1.6 in it.
1 x Installed coil head @ 2.0ohm +/- .2ohm.

Drip tip is NOT removable.

67.77mm Height
13.97mm Diameter

Replacement heads are here (same coils as Aro and Tumbler)

How to fill the ARO II :

The Top does NOT come off. Hold the ARO II upside down, Unscrew the base, fill into the side do not get any liquid into the center hole, fill to just under the lip of the center hole. Screw the bottom back on and turn over, it will be full.
Replacing the coil on the ARO II: Remove the base, then unscrew the coil from the base, replace with a new coil, screw it on the base, then screw the base on the ARO as normal.

This is a PYREX Clearomizer

Gurgles, air pressure drop when the tank gets about halfway through, and leaking are the most annoying issues it seems everyone that gets it experiences. It's an airy hitter as well. More minor is purely design related... The window is so large the glass breaks easily when it's dropped, it's also very bulky and weird looking on the smaller PVS it's designed for, it throws the weight balance off, and I cut my finger several times on the bottom because the texture is so rough and it's easy to get the threading too tight.

I've heard good things about the original v1 that's plastic but mostly complaints about the Pyrex v1.

Hi all, hope someone can help me, is the iClear 30 16-Wick Dual-Coil 3ml Clearomizer made of pyrex?

I actually prefer top coils vs the bottom coil of the mini protank, I've been vaping the same juice on both, but find that I getting a better vaping experience using the cheep ce4. Stronger flavor on the ce4 than I'm getting with the mini. I would like a crackproof top coil tank. Any recommendations, if there is such animal out there :)

Thanks for the help

You can get a metal version of the mini Vivi Nova by Vision. It's a top coil mini tank. I used metal tubes on the full sized version before I got into bottom coil tanks and the flavor was excellent. Certainly knocked the socks off a ce4.

None of the iClears that I know of are made of Pyrex or any other crack proof material.
