ECF - Heading towards 10 million! Prizes.....

Congratulations ECF on the approach of your 10,000,000th post.

I posted this earlier tonight in another thread and thought to copy it so it can be shared here. I find ECF to be a very special place. Here is my earlier post:

The learning and information available here were two of the major reasons I joined ECF. The main reason is because of the people that I found posting repeatedly in threads that were giving help to newcomers and just sharing their knowledge and experiences. And very little snarkiness and infighting. Just seemed like a generally knowledgeable, friendly group of people who enjoyed the subject and wanted to share the experience and knowledge with others.

I find that ECF and the moderators have done an exemplary job of creating and running this Forum. I have been to several others. I will not go back and most decidedly will not join. The amount of effort and care that is taken to make this as safe and pleasant a place as possible is extraordinary. I wish it was easier to find other Forums like ECF on other topics, that can cater to both beginner and expert/hobbiest.

how accurate is the stats listed at the bottom of the main page? just wondering. i can see myself waiting until the last few seconds, refreshing the page to make sure it hasn't already passed, see its about time to send my post, and my internet dies. would be my luck.

Not sure how accurate or if the stats update as soon as the posts are made. I do know that the server refreshes 25 minutes after every hour for things like getting your post count up to 5 before you can post in other areas. In other words, your post count will show you've reached that magic count, but the server doesn't yet know until the refresh.

Another thing to consider, when a thread gets moved to an area where posts don't count, those post counts get wiped out. They then get subtracted from the total.

I guess the only way you will know if the counter updates real time is to check the post count. Refresh when you know someone's posted. See if it goes up.

EDIT: I just sat down at the count and refreshed the page for less than a minute, the count jumped jumped by 1 on the first refresh, then another point. So it updates real time.

yes, those posts get subtracted from your personal post count but i'm not so sure they do get subtracted from the overall count

My (for fun) guess: mm/dd/yr hr/min/sec (in 24 hr time/day) is.... why not add your guess ?? if you're wrong, try again!!

The overall post count for ECF is way beyond 10 million posts. For the purposes of the contest, only the counted posts will be tallied for the end results.

I'm really thankful to ECF. It's been guiding me every step of the way in my vaping journey. It wasn't easy; it took me like seven months to totally be cigarette-free, but every time I came across problems, I could turn to ECF and seek opinions and answers and more.
