AS an x cigar smoker, I highly recomend the Echo. I smoked high end cigars from the best companies, and was instantly able to quit while vaping. With a lot of research I found the Echo, and was BLOWN away. I can chain vape almost all day on a 650 Echo with an Echomizer, pluss keep it in my mouth like a cigar without my jaw falling off because of weight. Get a delrin drip tip because the rubber ones that come on the Echomizers like to fall out, but "801" drip tips hold nice and tight. Just don't drip into them, or the auto bats will drowned.

From what a lot are saying; 100% VG has more vapor and less taste. Wouldn't a PG based juice have more flavor?

Some great savory and tobacco flavors are 100% VG, tanks have trouble with those. Thinking Alien Visions and Want2vape both of which are favorites of mine and work well in a boge or an echo cartomizer but not at all in a clearomizer and not very well on an ego-t type set up.

That is what concerns me about the Echo. I do not want it to burn it out. Since adaptability is important to me I'm looking at 510 devices. There are a lot of options. I hear about the flooded batteries and burned out batteries of the Echo because of parts that fit the connection but push the device too far. I do not want my 1st upgrade to be touchy or limited. Every device is limited. It appears that the Echo is more limited then the Riva. Since I go out to vape for an hour at a time and not all day, the high capacity cart is ok, but not necessary. Thank you for sharing. I'm looking at all this and deciding on whats a good 1st upgrade. Almost there it looks like :)

I used Echos for a while and liked them very much, but I eventually ruined them by using cartos other than the ones they were built for and getting juice into the battery. The echo cartos have great flavor and an easy draw, probably a good choice if you're not all about the throat hit. They're horizontal coiled and the center tube is slightly bigger than a standard carto.

The auto feature is fun too, feels like you're puffing on an electric stogie...:2cool:

Typically pg does have more taste. Pg does a better job at delivering anything in the juice whether its flavor of throat hit from nic. Vg produces a smother, fuller cloud. It softens everything from flavor to TH to nasty taste. But there are many 100%vg juices out there that some swear buy. They are made that way and folks love them. Sadly, the heaviness of VG makes me wheezy so I can't enjoy the Bobba's that folks rave so much. Anything over 40% is hard for me. I do enjoy some juices that are 50/50 but I feel it later. It quickly goes away and is nothing like the breathing probs I had from smoking so I do get into them now and them. PG makes for a smooth and creamy vape.

The possibility of flooding is the deciding factor for me here. I do not want to even take the risk on a device I drop $$ on. Automatic would be nice, but not if its touchy. Thank you.

More and more you are refining your search and dropping things from your list. You're doing well. A Kgo or Riva is an excellent 510 choice. The batteries run at just the right volts so you can experiment to the fullest as you see fit, down the line. See what ohms the cartos in the kit come with and buy a couple at different resistance if it's in your budget. Buy an atomizer for testing juice and you're golden.

Do you know of a good cigar juice?

Finding the right juice is as important, if not more important than finding the right device, I say this because the juice dictates the device some of the time...taste being what it is you are really going to have to look at this one for yourself and experiment. Want2vape has a fantastic cigar extract line... I prefer alien visions most of the time though...as far as flavors being more potent on a PG base, yes it is but as a cigar smoker...and I don't know about you but for myself, "fake" flavors like that artificial honey cigars were not what it was all about but flavorful like a CAO Brazillia wasn't so much about the intensity but the complexity and VG does that well. Watermelon is more flavorful in PG no way around it, peach is stronger in PG most of the time. Try both, try blends of the two, find your happy vape.

I like to sit down and vape and just enjoy the flavors and VG does that without overwhelming. I would rather have a Blu cig and good juice than a Provari and bad juice... some companies that I have used and liked.

want2vape 3ml 10+1 Sampler Special - try the sampler its 18 dollars for 10 different flavors (you can do one flavor more than once as well) They extract there own flavors they have alcazar and Acid Blondie...the ecoberry is also very good..Vapenstein Blend Managua is a madura inspired (and extracted) blend and they have a pipe tobacco flavor as well.

https://www.nitelitevapor.us/ - bounty hunter is a rather famous vape...its a bit sweet for a tobacco inspired juice 60% PG 40%VG the price is right here though

Alien Visions E-Juice one of my favorites, gorilla juice is what I would have wanted a banana flavored smoke to be like but something that could only be done properly with an ejuice (would have come out too fake in a cigar)

The Vapor Room.net | Vaporize Nicotine | E Cig Atomizers - I wouldn't say they make my favorite flavor but I have liked everything I have gotten here enough to happily finish the bottle...and to be honest that's more than I can say about a lot of places, also they have amazing sales from time to time. They customize the PG/VG but I never go below 50/50...

Good stuff, thank you for that. I have to agree about preferring a good complex well made cigar over the run of the mill flavored ones. I look forward to finding quality juice. You gave me a good list of places to start.

This has been a fun and informative month. I've learned a lot & have decided on a device. Also found a shop in my state that has customer service. I will not buy from a store that does not return calls or emails & I tried to contact quite a few.

I began my journey thinking I knew what I wanted, but the good people here at ECF have helped me find a better PV.
My 1st upgrade will be a Riva 510 w/ Boge LR Cartos. My 1st high quality ejuice will be RY4. The 1st store I buy from will be Liberty Flights. I called them, spoke with Lea and she answered my questions. I did not feel rushed, she did not suggest I get off the phone & have my questions answered on the website, it was genuine customer care.

My choice of PV, ejuice and store were based on strict criteria. Thank you all for helping. I will continue to video journal by experience and hopefully help someone like me who almost stopped vaping.

Thank you so much for all your help. ECF and members who take the time to share make this place gold. If I may ask one more question. It looks like Riva & SmokTek egos are very similar. The site I am ordering from has a great starter package on both. I notice some have LR and others have dual coil. What is the difference?

Actually I just found out that LF will be switching their Rivas from Eastmall to Smoketek

here's the quote from that thread:
All the Rivas sold by Liberty Flights are 3.7V regulated, including the 901. ImYourSalt from LF just posted yesterday that they are switching their Riva manufacturer from Eastmall to SmokTech. Still all 3.7V, but the new ones do NOT have the 3 click on/off feature. The Riva 901 kits and parts still have the 3 click on/off, though, as they are old stock at the moment. LF also offers the SmokTech eGo, which is also 3.7V regulated and 510 threading.

LOL. I was just looking at the SmokTech ego on LF. Now that I know they are 3.7v and have a 3 click function that just may be the one I get. Last I contacted LF they were still waiting on their Rivas to fill the Carto Deluxe package. Getting their supplies from SmokTeck will definitely be quicker. Now just need to figure out if I want Dual Coil or LR?
