Well the echomizer does work ok on kr8s. Just might be time to pull the trigger on an Echo?

Cyrus, I've stopped trying to figure out why the Echo rocks. It doesn't come off the charger at 4.2 like it's 510 cousin. It uses 3.0 cartomizers. Why do I use it more than my Kgo that has a longer cutoff and uses lr cartos? IDK! I can tell you it takes a much longer draw on the Kgo to get close to the satisfaction I get from short pulls on the Echo.
I often hit the 10 sec. cutoff of my Kgo. But for the longest time, people actually believed the Echo had no cutoff and it's only 5 seconds.

the way you describe your hits, yes it would be time for me for an Echo. however, im completely engrossed in the idea of a box mod right now. im over the whole "its gotta remotely resemble a cigarette/cigar" thing. i no longer care about that. i just want something that fits in the palm of my hand that BLASTS me with steam whistle sized hits. i got a taste of it when my 1.5 ohm carts were firing. now that i know how good vaping can be, i just need more more more of that sweet sweet LR plumage. seems like a box is the only way for me to get a reliable consistant LR/high-voltage vape that i need.

Maybe time to keep to the kr8s and save for a Reo?

provari is not what im looking for because its ugly as sin. i know you said besides besides price, but its incredibly expensive compared to other mods that *seem* to do the same thing. maybe if i were more educated i'd understand what warrants the mega large price tag. but for now im just gonna go ahead and rule it out to simplify my life.

the lavatube on the other hand was a very viable option. possibly still is. the only thing it has that the boxes ive been looking at dont have, is the voltage meter with .1 increments. the boxes have a dial with no digital readout. however, i dont really care what my voltage is. once i find a voltage i like, i'll stay there. its just a number. looking at numbers doesnt intrinsicly make me happy. the boxes have a dial with notches. i plan to just keep going up notches until my vapor reaches my desired level.

the other thing is the lavatube has been giving some users problems. battery caps popping off, voltage problems, some others too but i ruled it out once i started reading that stuff.

the price is on par with the boxes ive been looking at so i still might investigate a little further, but i dont know. the round design is not optimal once the PV is that large IMO. theres no way that toting that around in my pocket is comfortable. the box on the other hand is flat and appears very comfortable (and all of us "smokers" know how natural it feels to carry a box around). i dont know too many people that carry an electric toothbrush shaped thing around and feel natural.

The battery is the power. That's all. Really focusing on the wrong thing here. It will taste great on your cartos. Ooops no it won't. It's still just a battery. It'll never taste like anything unless you lick it. Sheesh- try to quietly feed a horse the oats he's been chewing at the bit for, and he whinnies about the feed bag.

Which vendors use a vacuum switch and which use a microphone switch based batteries.
Vacuum switches, which makes them more reliable and "response" time seem important.
I see SmokTech is vacuum with a 12 sec cutoff.
Also, why do some vendors sites not list carto & battery specs?
I don't see any info on V4L; volt; volcano; etc, just to name a few.

It feels like I'm buying a car and the dealer won't tell me what's under the hood :glare:

Morandir will have to chime in here but I think the microphone switch was older technology. At any rate. I haven't had any auto battery have issues with autofiring or hesitation in over a year. Unless I got a drop of moisture on the diaphram. Then surface tension gets in the way.
Once you know what to look for, it's easy to figure out the specs. Only thing that's hard now is regulated or unregulated and I like both for various reasons.

I ordered the wife the V4L Titan. In their forum they state that the cartos are 2.3 LR and 3.3 regular and they are vertical.
I also ordered some Volt cartos as they are supposed to be the new protected horizontal and less likely to get that burn taste.
I ordered the volt pass-through since it's 3.6 so the wife could have the same experience rather than the 5v ones.
Now I'm looking for a atty for the pass-through so she can sample juice before filling a entire carto.

I also have the KGO coming for me, but these echo's look interesting. It looks like the echos are unprotected horizontal coils maybe, dunno. I'm reading the long thread atm, could you some it up quicker....lol.
