ecig ban

Im working on a construction project in Tuscon AZ We are building a SH.T plant. The county announced they will not allow tobacco products on their construction sight after Jan 1st. Ecigs are encompassed in this ban. Their reasoning people dont need to use those they just want to feel like they are getting away with something!

I would ask if they plan to ban the patch and gum as well because they too are an alternative tobacco product.

They are nuts! All of these (MODERATED) that want to tell people what to do and how to live. Even if people want to smoke cigarettes that should be their choice, the vaping ban just takes it a step farther and prooves they are about imposing their will and not health.

If you guys are union and have enough smokers/vapers I hope you give them, can we say the word heck on here? I remember seeing a clip on the news about unions standing up for the rights of their workers to use a recently legalize substance in some states without being tested for it. I'm not the biggest union fan but I'd love to see somebody with some power stand up to these people and put them in their place!

Ditto. I don't want to get on political tirades on these forums, but I think it's important that we understand the nature and character of the oppressor and the oppression. The ostensible, stated reasons for persecuting people don't matter. They never do. And even if you successfully refute all of their good reasons for oppressing you item by item, they can always just say that they're "protecting the children". It's how they murdered Socrates.

Im going to Vape any way Im not going to allow some controlling do gooders, dictate what I can and cant do. My answer will simply be ether I vape or build this stuff your self. I work in one of the most dangerous trades there is on mistake and I could easily kill my self or some of my crew. I will not allow some politician to infringe on my god given American freedoms!

They could use more people who understand the situation.

Heck, every vapor on the planet should join CASAA, whether they understand the situation or not.
What we need more than anything is numbers, because we are never going to have money on our side.

The FCC allows e-cig commercials on TV.
It is against federal law for any tobacco products to be advertised on TV.
The FCC, a federal government agency, is stating that e-cigs are not tobacco products.

Sadly smoking nazis hate to see anyone enjoying themselves so they will continue to ban e-cigs on general principles. Other people will ban them out of ignorance. Like Ron White said "You can't fix stupid".

Like the food and beverage industry, there is a high percentage of smokers in construction. I would ask them - would the County prefer all of those smokers standing outside taking numerous smoke breaks and increasing the job time or that they keep working efficiently with an occasional puff on their e-cigarette? Sending smokers off-site to smoke, rather than encouraging them to use a low-risk alternative on-site, defeats the purpose of smoking bans and does nothing to improve the health of the smokers.

I think the Arizona Unions are more concerned with getting work rather than if we can smoke vape or chew. It truly irritates me Im being lumped into the same category as smokers! I quit smoking! Im am a CASAA member Im trying to get all of the info I can before I report the situation.

Just got my 2013 Employee Handbook, which we have to sign off sayin we read it.....well, within the tabacco portion, ecigs were listed. I was less than happy. there is no tabacco in them!! W7F?! Really?! How is this possible, I suppose the more popular they get, the less we'll be allowed to vape in public...........

I truley wish there was something that could be done about this rule. Now that I'm more free to say things, I'll just start that I work for the 4th largest college in the state. The govenor of Oklahoma passed a law forbidding "smoking on state property". If you are caught you can be fined up to $100 usd. Now let's take that a bit farther. Lets allow each individual state agency to adapt their own modified rules. Now we won't allow e-cigs on the campus. Same results. Well being the person that I am and having to wear a uniform to enforce the rules, I walked in with my "PV" hanging around my neck when I was off duty. First question was what's that. It's my PV. What's a PV. It's like a nicotine inhaler to help to stop smoking, Oh it's an e-cig. Long story short I lost they won. I'm gone after the end of the month and they can have a great time letting all the obese over weight people have special parking places cause they can't walk all the way to the building. Sorry but I got a really >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> no kind words here for this. Sorry but I got written up for vaping in my personal car when I was parked on their property. It will take a miriciale to fix this. I've gone head to toe with the VP of our HR Department and I still lost. They don't want to know. But you can dip and spit all you want to.
