Is it just me, or does that quote Connman just did look like chicken & moo? That smiley is cutting off part of the d.:)

Connman, that's why I hate ordering anything from China. It takes too long & my attention span sux.:)
That master switch looks really good. No chance of it shorting out! How's that button switch working out? It looks good on there, streamlined.
I've got some electronics I am going to dismantle on my next day off, I want some small plugs. Since seeing the way you've got the battery in this one, I want to do the same with a tube, but make it a complete unit that you just plug in to the mod.

TheLizinator-Hi, I'm a guy.:) Anyway:), how sturdy is stained glass? When I think of stained glass, I think of thick glass. I was just wondering if you could make a small box or tube(of sorts)? I think it would look really good with a color changing led in it. Of course, it would also have to have a battery, battery connector, ummm, an atty.:)

Did someone mention stained glass and a color changing LED?!
Oh my.....! It would be like "moon jar" vaping!

:)confused:...... if women are chicks...... does that mean guys are peeps?....)

HA! You all must be reading my mind. I was cleaning up my glass studio today and found the beginnings of a kaleidoscope tube (made of mirrors turned inward). Then I got to thinking how cool a stained glass tube-mod would be (with color changing LEDs of course!). That got me thinking about heat and glass. Stained glass is thin (1/16th inch), and has been know to crack under the heat of steady soldering. However, with an inner tube, opalescent glass on an outer tube, it might just be up to the job. Bevels would be ultra-awesome, but you don't want to see the innards of an e-cig lurking inside. I'll have to think on this...think if I made a tube, Connman and his sister could work something up? We might have to get our heads together on this one (battery size? must surely have to be a 5v!). Would be simple enough to copper foil a metal top piece and integrate it onto the stained glass. Drilling glass is nothing. I have a glass grinder that will drill holes for LED lights, so that would be covered. Can we trust USPS not to break the thing if it had to travel from Indy to FL? To be continued....

If that doesn't get you there, file a complaint via PM and I'll get you in!

All of your works looks great, but, I really like that Angel! That is sharp!:toast:
You could use a tube like connman did for the 'innards'. Paint it a solid color to enhance the glass. Or, cover it with something that would give a mirrored effect.:)

We are more likely to be peepers, according to FBI statistics... :D

Wow Liz that is some fantastic stuff there. Love those Scotties by the way. And I was going I`ll say I like that and oh yes that one and wow that one. Just to many to list. Really liked the Butterfly. I watch those all summer here with great admiration to the beauty they are. And OldSanta was amazing. Wow what amazing work you do with that Glass.
I cut glass once and decided it wasn`t worth trying twice for the length of time it took me to get that mess cleaned up. There are glass cutters and then there`s me the Glass breaker.

I think a work-up of a Glass tube mod would be really beautiful and a great show piece. But I`d have to vape over a pillow. My mods need to bounce.
A for sure lanyard type PV.

Aw shucks, folks, thanks for all the glass praise! Conn, while it looks fragile it can also be surprisingly durable. Those wastebaskets have been accepting (light) trash for several years with nary a crack! On the other hand, once in awhile you can just look at it wrong and get a fracture. Glass is a temperamental critter to work with. Stress fractures are invisible then spread like a run in pantyhose. Heat fractures can happen, and usually (according to Murphy's Law) only at the last second before packing a piece up to be delivered. Grrrrrrr when that happens. You break out that piece and it's a do-over.

Now, all that being said, the possibility of a "table" vaper remains. You know, like those fancy table lighters! Something to pass around when company comes LOL like the good ol' days when people passed the glass .....:vapor: I'm bettin' Connman could create something incredible that might come close to the moon jars for Dreams! Let me see if I can conjure up that old beveled/mirrored pyramid I made. It holds a lead crystal dangling from the top center and has a hinged door:
2819196780046596351IOpkgt_th.jpg

It would be possible to make a mirrored or white chamber in the center, fill it with all of the necessary PV parts, solder on an atty connector (it could come out at a convenient angle for vaping). The bevels are clear, so you'd want to back them up with opalescent glass. White would work if you were inserting color LEDs. That would be a pretty fancy mod!

Food for thought,
Liz

I love this mod! I probably missed it somewhere, but where are you all finding the tins? All I can find are Eclipse plastic boxes. They also have possibilities, but I really want to find the tins.

I got them at a small country gas stattion in BFE. Just look around the gum & mints, these were stacked on top & almost empty. Had to really look.

Actually, I think Connman & Dreams bought controlling stock in these & are only allowing them to leak out slowly. Get the "Want now, gotta have!" factor built up.

 Oh crap they are on to us. Thanks Sci.

And thanks for letting me know they come in other colors. I looked that up on Amazon and I like that red one.

Wow Liz another nice piece of work with that old beveled/mirrored pyramid . My brother used to make pyramids when we were growing up then put a piece of fruit in them and one outside of it and see what kind of powers the pyramid held. Me I would have just eaten the fruit myself. :)

I think this mod would be a fur sure amazing thing to see and watch. I used to have some amazing Orbs that glowed Blue with white swirls in them and ran by light and water pump type set up I used to waste many hours watching it. Sort of like a Lava Lamp.

I dug out my eclipse mint tin--mine doesn't say they kill germs, only "WINTERFROST". What a bummer. It has a small number of dings from being carried around in my purse. One of those mints broke a piece off a tooth one night while I was scoring tests. That's when the eclipse mints went in the nightstand drawer. I've been told numerous times you aren't supposed to scrunch down mints, but do I listen?

I slipped an 18650 into it and it POOF disappeared down into the tin. There's a TON of space between the trap door and the bottom of the 18650. Conn, did you use a PCB inside or did you just wire directly from the switch to the battery contacts?

Looking for a tube...I just know I have something around here that will work. This is starting to feel like I need a 12 step group to work through my obsessions with turning things into PVs. LOL At least I'm in good company.

I put the 18650 in positive end first and when you see it in there be sure to accommodate how the lid also goes into the box. I tried the battery contact for the positive post plus thin plastic off the tube for the syringe so it wouldn`t make contact with the tin and the lid would not shut. So that`s where the copper tape came up for this mod. It works or other wise I think it would be modding the lid some way. Or a better size battery perhaps..
I also just wired straight to the switch from the positive battery wire then center pin on the atty/battery adapter. This next one will have a LED and maybe a juice bottle.
I have that bite the mints trouble as well. Try not to but it just happens. Sorry to hear of the chipping a tooth though.
