Yes, the comments are positively vicious.

And then we have a person calling itself "NoCo10ine". Wonder how he/she feels about long-term use of nicotine.

Dr. Ross also needs to recognize that there are more recent studies, clear science-based research, and some tobacco cessation quit lines / programs from around the country that are clearly showing distinct efficacy and successful, sustained, NRT-supported tobacco cessation (even with little or no recidivism 12 months post treatment!).

Riiiiiight. They worked so well for all of us, didn't they? I couldn't resist pointing out the latest "NRTs don't work" article, plus the rebuttal from GlaxoSmithKline, essentially admitting that the success rate with NRTs works out to 6% (If you do the math).

My comment on article in general:

I think the doctor is being very kind to the opponents of harm reduction. Overall its a good article. When you factor in the lost profits that big pharma is looking at, and who funds these "health" organizations. The money trail makes it perfectly clear, that the health of the citizen has been put on the backburner.

Harm reduction works, there is plenty of evidence out there, many studies have been done of the subject. Here are some resources to look at.
