I am an asthmatic (I used to smoke ultralights with a "nicostop" filter and don't inhale that heavily... as a result, smoking one cig took me like 8 mins, whereas some friends smoked their cigarette in less than 5 mins.. but that's not the point

I am on symbicort twice a day and use some allergy meds, and, honestly, vaping doesn't make me feel that great...
now, as an addition, I am sick and my lungs are quite affected, I rushed it a bit when I was starting to feel better and it was relly not a good idea... the virus apparently came back and is even worse now. My lungs feel so bad that I can't even imagine putting vapor in my mouth, can't even imagine actually inhaling.

I thought it was PG that irritated me, so I tried Alien Visions 100% VG and right after trying that I got this awful viral infection (it has lasted for more than 2 weeks now, I went to see the doctor yesterday and she just prescribed me some cough sirup and ProAir in case my breathing get even worse - I used to just take symbicort and not even have an inhaler).

Nonetheless, when I used to smoke 70/30 PG I felt irritated, now when I tried 100%VG (which I had really high hopes for) it irritates me as well.. I tried 20/80 or 40/60 PG/VG too and it felt a bit better than 100%VG, I guess, but still not as great.

The "softest" and "least irritating" juice for me was possibly Coffe Kona Milkshake from Virgin Vapor (which is 100%VG) but the coffee taste is so strong that it is not an all day vape at all, actually the taste becomes really annoying. Please not that I also use strictly low nicotine. (For example, they gave me a cherry vanilla swirl sample from Virgin Vapor, which tastes good, but in medium nicotine and it is super strong too.)

Well I don't really know what to do, I love vaping, and it seems to be better than smoking, but the irritation is just really annoying. Actually, even when I didn't have the infection, I had to Symbicort more than when I wouldn't vape. And the next day after a party, my lungs never felt good at all (approximately as bad as after a party where I had a whole pack of analogs).

Any suggestions on what to vape that would be really soft and not irritative?

I use the eGo-C Tank btw.

The coughing up flem after you give up smoking is something that I had on my mind when I gave up smoking . I had the same as you Darcy nothing came up .

Anyway after hours of research and a trip to the doctors it turns out your age has alot to do with it

apparently our lungs stop self cleaning after we reach 30-35

after I thought about it kinda made sense to me when I was younger (20-25) I used to cough up every morning after a club or heavy smoking nite, but after 30 I noticed I didn't cough up anymore.

so my top tip try give up before your 30 !

Interesting! I'm 30 yrs old, and when I quit I never coughed up a thing! Granted, the 17 years I smoked I never had a smokers cough either, perhaps it's because I only smoked 12-15 cigs per day, but man after 17 years I was a little disappointed that nothing came out!

My girlfriend is asthmatic and she believes that her lung function has improved. I asked her to try out that breath puffer thing they use to measure lung capacity and three weeks into vaping she blew a 400, maybe not great for most people but better than she's done in a long time. Interestingly, it was a trip to the ER and the five breathing treatments that night that got her to make the switch. I don't think nicotine is great for asthma, but I believe that eliminating all the tar, smoke and other crap is beneficial (My opinion only, I have no scientific studies to back that up.)

I am 25 and I have light asthma since 17. It is very light so I do not regularly use an inhaler.

I was a very light smoker, practically a non smoke since I did 2-3 cigarettes a week. Sometimes I could smoke 10 cigarettes in rare cases (social smoking, going out with other smokers) and some other periods I would not smoke at all for weeks. Defenitelly not a nicotine addict.

When I discovered vaping I really liked it but I think it made my asthma a little worse. Vaping may not even be the cause as it may be just an asthma exacerbation that all asthmatics have from time to time but it definitely does not help with it.

I still haven't found out what the cause is but I noticed it getting worse when using ready pg/vg made e-liquids with nicotine. I used vg only base liquids without nicotine that I did myself before and they didn't irritate me at all. Now I think it has to do with throat hit. If I use bigger atomizers with lower resistance that produce warm vapor and give better TH I can feel my chest and my breathing getting heavy and my airways getting tighter. The next day I may also have some cough. If I turn back to simple 510 atomizers I think the puffs are not irritating anymore. The problem is that I like warm vapor and TH and these atomizers does not even perform the tastes very well!

So for me I think it is the nicotine that creates the problem but I am still doing trials.
