Ego 510 with boge cartomizers

Hi

Very New to all this. Think it's a great idea but slightly overwhelmed!!

I am thinking of purchasing an ego 510 with 2 batteries, 2 packs of boge cartos, charger,

What else will I need. Can I still fit a cone for aesthetics. Any thing else recommended?

How long should 10 carts last and how many times can they be refilled?

I vape occasionally during the day at work then quite a lot at home. currently have a realis which is ok but think time to upgrade!!

Finally is the only difference between the standard 510 and the ego battery life as this is not a major issue for me and I think the 510 will look nicer and more discreet!!

Any tips and advice would be very appreciated

I am new to this also, but I would say to get 2.0-2.5ohm cartos for that piece.

Great choice. I would suggest the bigger ego for batt life, but it is your choice. The boge lr's are perfect on a 3.7v device. The boges, depending on the quality of juice you are using, should last a while. I have 3.0 boges that I run on my provari at 4.5v and have been using them for over 2 weeks and numerous refills with no problems. I run all different kinds of juice from 80/20, 50/50 to 100% VG and all have consistent performance. GL and vape on!!

Standard resistance Boge, around 2.8ohm are the best for this battery. Get a drip tip because it makes it easier to refill and feels nice on the lips.

I've had Boge last me up to 5 weeks before using a clearish 50/50 mix. It all depends on what you vape. 100% VG will cause them to go out quicker and so will dark juices.

If you go with the slim PV, DO NOT use anthing under 2.8ohm cartomizers or they will destroy your batteries. Infact, you shouldn't use anything under 2.8ohm on your ego batteries either. Low resistance was originally designed to simulate 5V vaping on a non-proprietary battery. Ego's are proprietary. Yes, the egos will fire low resistance but your batteries won't last as long as standard resistance usage.

I say go with a Riva. It's essentially the same thing as an eGo. 510 thread. Same shape. Gold finish instead of silver/chrome. Softer button itsead of the hard, clear plastic button, too. It's a 3.7v PV, whereas the Ego is 3.2v-3.4v.

Yes, you can and will want to use the eGo/Riva cone, as it's meant to be used with atties or cartos.

The idea that nothing below 2.8ohms is hogwash. I used Boge 2ohm LR cartos on my eGo/Rivas without a problem. It gives a fuller flavor and vapor. Yes it will use more wattage, but if you get the 900-1100mah ego/Riva battries, you won't drain the battery any faster than your 510 e-cig your using now at regular resistance. In fact it will still last many hours longer!

Buy a couple of driptips, as mentioned, too. It's a must-have with cartos. Just grab it, pop it off, top-off your carto and slip it back on, easy-peasy.

I recommend you only buy Joye or Janty brand if you are buying something called "Ego" or "510". There are some crappy clones and one that is reverse polarity that will fry other 510 and Ego batteries with its charger. And amazingly, a couple of vendors sell things with 510 in their name which are not even 510.

If you buy the small Joye 510 buy the manual battery version, especially since you will be using cartomizers. The manuals are totally sealed on the threaded end and safe from getting damaged or killed the occasional juice leaks. And manuals make it easier to get a good hit.

battery life - extremely different. 100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping at standard resistance (standard resistance atomizers and cartomizers are all slim battery should use and that includes those Boge cartomizers too - you do not use the hotter LR ones on slim 510)

Joye 510 - 180mah (nice PCC available at NoSMokeVA.com fits manuals)
Joye 510 mega xl - 280mah (about 128mm long with a Boge carto) (has a metal non-roomy PCC)
Ego - 650mah+ and can optionally use the hotter low resistance atomizers and cartomizers

And whichever you get, you need at least one atomizer and drip tip for testing juices and vaping ones that are too thick to use in cartos (slim 510 - Buy Manual Batteries because drip tips are not recommended on auto batteries). You don't put random untested juices in cartos. Cartos are hard to clean and dry and most don't bother - They are meant to be disposable. I can usually get 10 days or more use out of a Boge carto. I only put juices I like a lot in cartos, mostly my main 2 contrasting vapes and a few flavors I like to vape less often.

Riva comes up to 1100mah battery vs 1000mah on the eGo, so about an hour more vape time. They can be had from several ECF sponsor vendors. LF has them for sure.

To answer your question the size is the same, but relative to the mah of the battery. 650mah ego is going to be alot shorter than a 1000mah ego, anyway. The sacrifice in discretion is that you have longer battery life. Battery life has always been my biggest concern vs size.

Hi - I bought a Riva 510 (eGo) - great price, works well. Have used with dual core (not sure if I'm supposed to) while waiting for my Boge atomizers. New here but from what I've read and experienced, solid purchase.

Honestly, I don't notice a difference between the Riva 750 battery and the Joye 650 battery and I have both. You're supposed to get about 1 hour per 100 mah so according to that the Riva should last longer I guess. Like I said, I haven't noticed a difference in time or vape. My Riva batteries didn't last as long as the Joye but that could be just a fluke. I've never heard one was a 'better' battery. When I bought my kit the Joye batteries had a 6 month warranty and the Riva a 3 month warranty. Not sure why there was a difference. Now they both have a 2 month warranty at LF.

Appearance, they're the same size. The Riva has a gold band and the Joye a silver band. The 900 mah battery is just slightly larger. The 1000 mah battery is much larger, like an inch larger.

Good choice, and stick with the Joye eGo.
Yes the cone fits over a boge carto just fine. However a carto is longer than an atomizer, so a little stick out above the cone.
2 ohm Boge cartos on an eGo is a great vape.

I am using...with great success, I must say...Boge2.0s with my Riva and getting around 8hrs of heavy vaping with them...I also used the eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartos as well but, got a couple of hours less batt life.......
