How's it going folks.
A couple weeks ago I bought a Tornado from totally wicked. A week in, I put one of my batteries on the charger over night but it didn't charge. Left it on the charger for another day...still no charge. A couple days later, the same thing happened with the second battery!!! no more eGO for me  Has anyone had this issue before? Im thinking its the adapter... Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Check the Technicial Issues -> Battery Issues sub-forum. There are a disturbing number of people having exactly this same sort of problem with all varieties of eGo/Riva/Tornado batteries... myself included. Thankfully the supplier I'm using is particularly concerned with customer satisfaction, so there's been significant conversation back and forth about how to resolve this issue (I've already sent him one eGo back, and the replacement is now suffering from this problem). Looks to me like there's a critical design flaw in these style batts.

I will def check the sub forum. Thanks for that. Im bumbed to hear that this is more common than not. The folks at TW said this is an uncommon issue.. haha! So are you moving to a new PV or are you stickin with the eGO?

I'd check around for the warranty service from suppliers. Some vendors warranty kit parts for 30 days and individual parts for 14 days. It depends on the vendor's policy. Batteries are consumable devices but should last for months. My first Ego battery failure was a few weeks ago and they were 5 months old. The second of the two is still working fine.

Welcome to awesomevapor.com - replaced a monster atty (Joye Ego MEga Type B Cylinder atty) a couple of weeks ago that quit and a resistance check showed 43 ohms. There was still some connection, but not enough to handle a load. They sent me another one without question after 3 weeks. Some vendors are just good about failures. These people are tops in my book.

Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. is another vendor who believes in standing with the customer. I'm not saying these people are any better than other vendors. They are just people who have my loyalty because they are responsive. Vendors who stand behind their products get my continued business and I'm very likely to tell others of my good experiences.

Thanks Dave. This is great info. Im actually still trying to figure out who are the reliable vendors. I will take a look at these sites. At start I was buying parts/kits/juice like mad... Im learning to temper that until I get this all down... save some $$$ along the way.. cheers. Much appreciated.

Do you have any other ecigs and using that wall outlet to the ego usb adapter. I recently got the ego and I made a charging station as I had to many things laying all around and plugged my ego charger into my charging station and nothing. The reason was because the wall outlet leading to my usb extension was from a blu cig and could not handle the voltage properly.

In most cases, the USB current capability is tailored to the type of battery it charges. Normally, a load will only draw wattage based its internal resistance. Apparently, Lithium Ion batteries need to be matched to the charger just like other batteries. They tell you not to charge Nicads in some lithium chargers, but others will adjust to both. It depends on the charger being able to determine what is being charged. Ecig batteries vary and aren't universal as we all know.

An Ego charger will burn up 510 batteries even though both are 3.7v and both Lithium Ion. The are different milliamp ratings. If the charger is on the USB cable itself, you can plug it into other USB sources and it will regulate. If the cable is just a wire with no box that has current draw labeled on it, the regulating circuitry is inside the part that plugs in the wall. It is possible to screw a 510 battery into an Ego charger. Fire and smoke may result!

Well, it doesn't seem to be more common than not. The eGo is still a vastly popular battery, and there's good reason for that. But there seem to more of these occurrences than can be accounted for through user error, or manufacturer defect.

As for myself... I'm sill undecided. I love the eGo, it gives a fantastic vape, just like the 510. Unlike the 510, though, it gives a much more consistent vape through the life of the battery (due mostly to the fact that it has a longer life, thus the voltage drop-off that all batteries suffer as they run out of juice is much less pronounced than the 510). I'll probably just take the risk again, as I'm not sure what I'd want to replace it with.

Well, Latif77, I don't know if you've made any decision yet or not, but to follow up, I did stick with the eGo. In fact I ordered a second battery before the replacement arrived, partly to have a spare in case this does happen again, but mostly because I wanted a replacement as quick as possible (typical vaper impatience, ;) ). So I now have two brand spankin' new eGo batteries, each of which has successfully gone through a full charge/discharge cycle, so I'm hoping I'm out of the woods, now.
