Hi

I have a 1300mAh eGo battery I bought around 3 weeks ago. Now I'm experiencing some problems. It lights up but somehow doesn't make the cartomizer work. I opened it up and the wires seem to be connected fine (I think the light wouldn't work if they weren't connected) so I don't know.. I really want to make it work again!!! Since I got plenty of new tasty e-liquids and they're really good.

The problems started last night when at random times the battery wouldn't send any power to the cartomizer but then start working again later. Also experienced some burnt taste.

Please help.

Thanks!

It could be the center pin - if so try the fix above in the video.

It could also be the clearo you are using. Have you tried a different one?

If it's the clearo it's an easy fix too. Just take it apart, unscrew the coil assembly from the top of the body of the clearo. Inside the body, you'll see a post - push that down and you will see the center post of the clearo move down inside the screw section where it goes into the body. It sounds complicated, but it's really not.

Please be careful Disposable batteries are not to be taken apart.

If the light is working you already know these things - Battery is functioning - controller is closing circuit from switch to battery.
You can normally also assume if the light is working the controller is also providing power to the output side.

Only use a multimeter to test/verify output.

Normally a clearomizer not firing is caused be the battery pin being depressed from over tightening or the Clearomizer pin being pushed up to far(most likely)

Should you decide to reassemble this please use extreme caution and test several times before attempting use. No doubt someone will post a link showing what can and does happen to lithium batteries when things go wrong.

Please note, this information is incorrect. Should you press the center pin down under the Wick, it wwill no longer make positive contact with the wick.
The floating center pin at the base can be pulled about 1mm max if needed. It is ofter slotted but is not a screw so turning will not help. The slots are for air intake.

It's not a disposable battery though. I just took it apart to check if the wires were okay. It's a normal 1300mAh eGo battery with a CE4S clearo.

Seems that when connected to a charger, it doesn't charge either, the light stays green. I think the connector might be faulty, I can replace it with a new one easily.

LOL Yes, It IS a Disposable battery!
The light is staying green when you charge it because it's charged, OR the center pin has been pushed in too far...
Try a Different Clearo. You have either depressed the batteries center pin too far, or the clearo center pin has been pushed too far OR the clearo coil needs replaced.
From your pics, it looks like a replaceable coil CE. You can remove it and put on a replacement, or rebuild it.

Sounds like the battery pin got pushed in.

With it turned off (5 click is typical), use a small, rigid object like a straightend out paper clip, and gently pry the post up from all four sides. Gently, you don't want to pop it out! All you probably need is 1 mm of "up" movement.

Right, if it's been pushed down, it won't make contact with the charger, and so the charger light will stay green.

Any battery that is soldered in is considered disposable. Not to say that they aren't potentially repair / rebuild able...

Good luck!

Haven't had occasion to take one apart, but it seems to me that the center pin should connect to the board / switch, and you shouldn't have to solder a new center pin on the battery. The center pin must come off the switch. So if the wire is still attached to the pin, you just need to reconnect it to its proper place on the board/switch.

Try googling something like "ego battery wiring diagram", and select the images.
