OK, so we're back on topic. Good. Now, has anyone measured these under load with, say, a 3.0 ohm load at 4.8 volts?
How's the battery life above 3.7 volts? I've seen references to hours, but missed the voltage (long thread, sorry).

I can build one for about 1/2 the price. And it has swappable batteries too. OTOH, I'm thinking I could pick this up for "fun". How do you think it compares to something more in it's range... such as an LT? Anyone have both and want to share opinions? I know the LT can swap batteries. Any major differences performance wise?

Would like to see the DCC measure under load too, since that would tell us about amp limits.

Steve has a review on the Twist Joyetech eGo-C Twist Review

It will vape a 2.9 ohm 901 atty at 4.8v and a 1.9ohm DC at 4.6v, the same as a 2.5a LT with a fully charged battery.

I'm definetely going to get a 1000mah Twist and some Stardusts.

Any care to suggest which ohm Stardusts to slap onto one of these batts? 2.1-2.4 ohms or 2.4-2.8 ohms?

Also does anyone have suggestions on which stardusts to use? Are you talking about the kind from Madvapes (?) or the generic term. I've used a few that I think were referred to as clearomizers but could never get a very good taste from them. People rave about them but to me they taste muted and a little plastic. Love the ease and use of them but always end up back on a carto or tank for full flavor.

If not the stardusts than what else would you suggest? I've had pretty good luck with fluxomizers but they aren't as good looking.

I have a IPro VV and really like it and the ability to vv but it is too big for out of the house. I'm thinking the twist would be a good alternative? Are they available in the states yet?

Thanks

I use Stardusts from GotVapes, and I've used both the LR and SR versions. The LR are slightly better on a standard Ego battery. The SR work slightly better at 3.7V initially, but improve at lower voltage after they've broken in well, IMO.

With the Twist you could go with either version, but personally I would probably go with the SR version for the Twist.

If you don't mind carrying around something that looks like a piece of plumbing or a box that has a lot of weight to it you might want to stick with the LT. But if you want something slim and light weight the ego twist fills that bill.

Well, I've been using the 650 mah version for about ten days now (got it from Cignot), and I love it. Ever since I got my Provari (sorry from bringing up the verbotten subject lol), I got addicted to fine-tuning my voltage to each particular carto and juice. But I am not going to haul it around with me, and it's a tad too heavy for all-day vaping. But I can fine-tune with eGo Twist just fine! :D

I'm not an LR vaper, or a HR vaper, I'm just a perfectionist with temp and taste, so this is *perfect* for me.

My only concern is that it does heat up with my chain-vaping. Noticeably.

Anyway, I just ordered another one from MVS - in 1000 mah blue!

Hmm. So if I hook up an emdcc its only going to run at 3.7 v?

Well, IDK the specs on the thing. But in general, you can only pull so many amps out of a particular battery. Can vary by chemistry (hence high drain). However, in order to boost past 3.7v, it basically draws extra amps for the booster. So somewhere along the line, in particular with LR stuff (like a DCC) you're going to hit an "amp wall".

It's all design decisions with current battery tech (come on labs! where are those next-gen batts?). I suppose they could make the whole thing bigger. I hear that there's a 4 amp LT on the way. Maybe takes/needs the bigger battery types (like 18650 IMR or something). But, I think I'll have to make sure to switch hands evenly, since I'd build up biceps on my vaping arm too fast otherwise!

Just received mine from MikeUSA...This thing is FANTASTIC! ... I was about to pull the trigger on a Lavatube, but I really think this thing is giving me all I'll need...I usually run CE2's and Stardusts, so this is a no-brainer IMO. Going to order the 1000mah version as soon as Liberty Flights has them (I have a credit from some bad Riva's :p)...

Got mine today also, and I'm impressed so far with a stardust and Perique tobacco juice. Its longer but it fits about as perfectly in my hand as it could. Still the same overall size as an 650 PT w/ EMDCC.

I was wanting PT capabilities too but I fear it'd make the battery huge, especially a 1000mAh. They'd have to really tweak the design too, but I'm sure JoyeTech would make it look as nice if they were to.

After my first day I'm definitely fond of the Twist. Gave strong vapor at 4 - 4.2v, lasted a good long time of heavy usage and showing it off at the bar. Its nice being able to dial it up and get a bit more TH, I personally find that helps rid the idea of a real cig right quick.

Have some ECB Perique (24mg, 70PG/30VG) mixed with about .5mL of ECB Rough Rider (0mg, 50/50 (was a sample)) in a Stardust and its a great flavor, good production. Going really well with this cup of earl grey.

I'm going to pick one up for a back up but I have a Q. Is the connection a 510 or well I need an adapter to use it with all my 510 attys?
Also are LR attys like 1.5 not recommended, I do plan on getting some higher om attys but right now everything I own are 1.5

I see a lot of posts here saying you like it at 4.2 volts or so but not saying what om atty/ cart you are using, which makes all the diference.

No adapter needed, Egos are 510 connections. I'm fairly sure you can use a 1.5 atomizer but I would recommend using it at a lower voltage. The original idea of using a lower ohm atomizer was to give you the experience of vaping at a higher voltage. You can try it at a higher voltage but it will run your battery charge down much quicker. That's always been my experience however the lowest ohm atomizer I've used was 1.8.

I like it at 3.8-4.2v with a SR eGo-C (2.4ohm I think).
