EGo CE4 Silver 650mah- Something not quite right? Help!

The CE4s that I normal use
don't have primer fluid.
Ordered a multi pack from fasttech,
to save a lot of $.
Those have primer,
and are random resistance too.
Nano 510 Mini Clearos,
from AltSmoke are $20 for 10.
They are super easy to fill,
perfect size for an eGo mini,
or to sample new flavors.
Those have primer, need to be rinsed out.
Of course I learned that the hard way!

Primer fluid? You mean Pre-filled?

It bloody does as well! Boge carto screws right onto it!

What a useful tip, thanks very much!

Well, the problem is definitely the clearo...

The threading thing on the ego's confused me too when I started. A very nice person straightened me out on it. Glad we got you sorted. :)

Only cartomizers are sold as a prefilled option.
I still used them with the Blu 100 batteries.
Don't want to risk a spill or mess around @ work.
Some clearomizers have a little bit of PG primer fluid.
It's supposed to keep the wick from drying out.
I've only seen it with the cheaper clearos.
Some people wash them out with vinegar or vodka.
I just use warm water & shake it up.

One of the nice things about the eGo style batteries: lots of options. I switch between Boge cartos and Vision clearos all the time. Still a few liquids that just seem to work better on cartos. Not sure why.

I wouldn't give up on clearos too quickly though. The wicks can take forever to air dry. You've a CE4 which, when I started fiddling with clearos, I bought one and that's my last. The CE5 is "rebuildable"... well, some vendors call it that, dunno that's the right term. It's not so much "rebuildable" as parts can be swapped around.

Lessee... yeah, here's a pic...

ce5-2.jpg

So I bought a batch of heads (with bases) and so can have a dry one around when I need. The one Vivi Nova Mini I bought to try out (which is a nice widget) took, oh, three (?) days to dry out. I tried it out too soon and got a vapor... ish bland something or other. Dumped the liquid into a bottle and rewashed everything then set it aside longer.

Dunno if you can replace the heads in a CE4 or not (I'm still fairly new myself) but if you can, it's gotta be a pain. Be real "ship in a bottle" kind of affair. I think they're considered "disposables". Definitely not being able to take them apart, the wick could take forever to air dry.

I'm still using cartos (Boge, yes) for some things but have come to like clearos better in most cases. Cartos can be a pain to keep wet. I might as well have been dripping way I kept rewetting. :)

Anyway. Much of this is a matter of taste. I don't get the odd taste others seem to with clearos. But you might consider a CE5 before dumping clearos entirely.

I bought a 7 pack of CE6s from FastTech for $14 shipped.
Not much for replacing coils. But I like the larger size.
For that price it was worth checking it out.
I like the Nano 510 bottom coil clearos.
They're small & throwaway, but so easy to fill!
$20 for 10 from a registered supplier & fast shipping,
Is also a strong selling point.
It's worth giving them a shot.

It sounds very much like the clearo I have is a dud, but I need some tweezers to take the top bung off to see if it fires up. I have dripped a bit of eliquid into one of my boge cartomisers and stuck it on the CE4 battery and its gorgeous so while it looks a bit mistmatched, it's much better than my previous combination (E-lites battery and Boge carto! They didn't even go together had to 'hold' them in place to take drags!)

Now it's all together, the vapour and TH is much better and the battery will no doubt last longer than an e-lite!

Gonna kerb the spending for a bit and use what I have left for the carto's and eliquid then may buy a batch of the CE6 cleros as they are bottom coil which seems to me the better option- Will they go on the CE4 battery?

You have an ego battery not a CE4 battery. CE4 is just the model of the clearo. ANything with ego threading or 510 threading will go on your battery.

I was using peach cobbler in my ce4 and I suddenly stopped tasting it. I don't know if my taste buds were immune to the flavor as I had been using it for quite a while or if the ce4 had something to do with it. I've since switched flavors to pear and also to strawberry kiwi and have had no problem. Maybe you've developed an immunity to the flavor too.

I have a new ce4 and it is super hard to draw. Is this a breaking-in period thing? Thanks for your help.
