Semi urgent:
My charger was working fine until recently. Usually when the charger is plugged into a power source the light is green even when nothing is plugged in except now, the light no longer turns on. I don't think it's charging because when my ego-c twist is plugged in, the battery light no longer flashes 3 times. An hour or so ago however I did manage to get it to charge, everything worked as usual so I let charge for an hour then started using it again and now when I go to plug it back in, I'm experiencing the same issue. I know I should have a backup but I don't and I really need to get this charger working because I can't mail it to my parents house and I won't be going back to school for a few days. Any help is GREATLY appreciated, thanks!

If it's USB into a wall adapter, try a different adapter or something with a USB slot (laptop, for example) and see if it lights up green with no battery. If it does, try to charge you battery for a minute and see if it responds normally. If it does, it's the adapter. If it doesn't, it's your charger.

Just hoping it might be something a little simpler.... Look at the contact points. Is there any juice residue on the battery top or the charger end? If there's any discoloration or evidence of residue, try dipping a cotton swab (e.g. Q-tip) in some 90+% alcohol, touching it to each of the contact points (while nothing is plugged in, of course!), and rubbing them dry and clean with the dry end of the swab. This will help remove gunk that may have collected and prevents clean contact.

Regarding other possible problems: Is the charger getting hot? That can be indicative of a more serious problem.

Try just the usb w/out wall adapter, see if it will charge.
Also, make sure your ego batt plate isn't depressed, look in top of battery and ever so gently go aroudn the sides of the round connector pin and "lift" it on all edges. May not be making contact w/your charger.

this is the time when disposables come in very handy. :) Even though expensive

My charger gets quite warm - should I be worried? I have a couple of new ones on their way, but should I get rid of my current one when they arrive?
No it will get warm to the touch, like warm bath water warm...but not so hot you CAN'T touch it...if it gets that hot...you will probably start smelling heated/burnt plastic

I had terrible luck with these personally. When my wife and I decided to start vaping a month ago we got the ego twist starter pack deal 2 batteries, chargers, etc. Hers stopped working on about day 2. Took it back to the shop and they were cool enough to replace it. A few days later and that one stopped too. They again replaced it. The third one literally fell apart a few days after that - the whole threaded top piece just broke off.

And the charging system always seemed really touch to me - you have to screw the battery on juuuust right to get the light on but not fully tightened (according to the shopkeep at least) or the whole thing breaks. This makes little sense from a mechanical or electronic standpoint.

The egos seem really popular, so perhaps we just had an unusually bad experience. Have you tried the Fonzie approach? Tapping the charger, adjusting the linkage of power cord to where it meets the charge box, tighening/loosening the battery onto the charger to see if it clicks?

Might also try the simple measure of using a different outlet.

Neither of my eGo chargers have ever got warm. I would not use one at all if it got quite warm. Not worth the risk of fire.

Yes. Get rid of it. I have a couple of eGo fast chargers (Joyetech) and they never get warm--not even warm to the touch. Also, do not leave your batteries on the charger unattended or overnight. QC in China is spotty at best--and, besides--any charger or any battery can malfunction.

My charger from my EVOD kit just started being a bit fussy. I screwed my batt in there and it lit up red for a second, then went green. Finally discovered that I need to screw it on (but not forcefully), then unscrew it about a quarter-turn. Gonna keep an eye on it, but it's not getting hot at all, I can't even tell if it's getting warm at all. So it sounds like I don't really have to worry then? Will prob get a backup soon anyways...

Been using my ego charger for over three years now. Still working fine. Really wondering where you guys buy your hardware.
I get different hardware lots of different places. If I were planning to get another eGo charger & wall adapter, I'd probably get it from Discount Vapers while purchasing something else.
