Thanks for all the input but I'm getting pretty much nowhere. There's a huge supply & demand problem out there. Most of the suggestions I looked up are out of stock. So I'm back to something I might actually be able to get. What do you think about these:

Joytech Ego-C
" "Ego -T, but what does the A & B mean?
KGO kit
I just cant figure out the limitations or expandibility of those models.

I am so frustrated with my brain in-op & have almost given up. I even looked up Provari based on so many reviews but the price about blew me away.
Then again, how many upgrades will it take to equal that amount? Doesn't seem like that many & why go through all that?

People have suggested a more mid-level PV. Is there any that someone might suggest?
That way, perhaps if I find something that wont cost an arm & a leg, I will be able to hopefully get something that will get me off the analogs & still be OK until that point where it seems most go eventually. Or to try & save for the ultimate.

Any more help would be more than great. Please feel free to chime in & set me straight.

Thanks soooo much for the help.

JC
Apologies in advance for my condition that leaves me so confused & undecided.

The Kgo is exactly the same as the eGo except it fires at 3.7 volts. The eGo fires at 3.4 volts. You'll be able to add cartomizers, tanks, clearomizers, Vivi Novas, etc.

People have suggested a more mid-level PV. Is there any that someone might suggest?
The next step up would be either the Spinner or the Twist- both variable voltage 3.3- 4.8 volts.

The main reason there are so many products unavailable is the Chinese New Year. It's the same every year in that the most popular brands of anything are most likely out of stock. Remember this experience next year and buy supplies you might run out of during the Christmas sales and the New Years sales. Product should start showing up on the vendor sites around the first or middle of March.

You don't say how long you've been vaping, but I get a vague impression you're shopping for your first or maybe second ecig? Please forgive me if I end up underestimating how much you know.

I'm a very heavy vaper and have been at it for almost three years, so I'm fairly demanding and that biases my reviews.

I have a couple of the eGo-Cs as passthroughs. I quite like them for casual use and for driving. They are entirely adequate and satisfying.

The eGo-Ts aren't ones I've used but IIRC they're a tank system. I think the main difference is the shape and how much juice they hold; I do remember that you can use either tip on the eGo-T; the battery is the same for both. Don't confuse that with the eGo Twist, which is a variable-voltage eGo. I have a pair of those and love them.

I've heard that KGOs run a higher voltage than eGos, but haven't tried them; I just don't have a niche they would fill. People seem to really love them, though, and I do sometimes find the plain-vanilla eGos to be underpowered for certain kinds of vaping -- gaming, programming, homework, anything where I want a really thorough vape. I've considered expanding my eGo stable to KGOs.

The various eGos and the KGOs are interchangeable. They have a set of inner threads that is the 510 standard, so you can use any 510 atty/carto/tank on them. They also have a set of exterior threads specific to the *gos. Things that are *go specific are usually labeled such because they use the exterior threads as well. The *go batteries can handle more demand than plain-vanilla 510s, so even if a *go tank/etc will screw onto a 510 battery, the battery might not be able to drive the heating coil or coils.

Because they're 510-compatible, the expandibility of that line is pretty awesome. I can't think of another platform with as many options available.

To be perfectly honest, you're right that you might as well go all-in on a Provari. I've helped some 20 people start vaping, and the only ones who didn't want an upgrade eventually are they ones who quit vaping after a couple of days on an underpowered kit. I've never seen anyone complain that their ecig is overpowered. ;) You might not like the bulk, the weight, or the appaerance, but you won't be disappointed with it as a nicotine delivery method.

The thing is, the eGo and its kin are sufficient for the majority of vapers, power-wise. They last half a day at least, all day for most on an extended battery. They drive some of the nicer tanks and cartos available. It would be really hard to go wrong with an eGo. THe only way it could be considered easier to go wrong with the Provari is that personal tastes vary, and you'd have more invested in the Provari matching your personal tastes.

I don't have a Provari, but I have the mod I was pricing out when I was in your shoes, and I wish I'd skipped most of the intermediate steps and just bought it to begin with. I spent roughly $1000 my first year of vaping just on gear -- batteries, new kinds of atty, prefilled cartos, whole new starter kits for whole new platforms... It's still 1/2 to 1/3 what I would have spent on cigarettes, so I don't regret one bit of it, and I gave most of the replaced gear away to curious smoker friends. But if I had it to do over? I'd get an eGo-like passthrough, a bunch of 510 cartos, my GGTS and my UFS right up front. It would set me back $400-500 and I'd still have spent half as much.

It's completely possible that you'll get the Provari and discover that there's something you don't like about it, and even if you don't you still might still want a different mod the week after you get it. But at least you won't have bought something underpowered for your throat hit, vapor volume, or chain-vaping needs and end up going back to smoking because you found vaping unsatisfying. If the Provari really calls to you, do consider being a bit self-indulgent.

but what does the A & B mean?

Type A and B refer to the size and shape of the tank and atomizer. Type A is a cone shape atomizer and the tank holds about 1 ML. Type B is a cylindrical shape and the tank holds about 2 ML. I've used both and prefer the Type B. Type A tends to leak easily and doesn't hold as much.

JC here,
Thought I'd reply to my own message here so it doesn't wind up at the end of the thread.
Jaka, I'm a complete newbee & just struggling with...you know, everything. I cant even find my way around the forum good enough yet let alone decide on a good starter kit. Thanks for the info.

I'm leaning towards the KGO from Hoosier as per a U-Tube video it seems like a good way to start. I suffer from 2 brain injuries so it takes forever for me to absorb so much info, etc.

That video shows the stuff I wanted to see & is compatible with so much. It doesn't look all that pricey & I'm on a low to no budget. Plus it looks like KGO is actually in stock. I didn't realize teh Chinese New Year would drag on for so long & screw up availability.
I lurked around trying to learn some basics, then jumped in for some help.
I'm fairly confident I can learn what it's all about once I get up & going.

My goal is to get off the analogs & hope the KGO will do that.
I'd love to hear from those that have/had the KGO but maybe a new post would help me find them.

Thanks to everybody, I will look at everything suggested before I pull the trigger, just to be sure.

This forum is so gigantic it's hard to believe how many vapers are out there. I had no idea & wish I would have found this a few years ago.

Thanks again, you are all so great & helpful.

Jaka, Thanks for input. I'm a newbee trying to avoid a total beginner kit [V2, etc.] & looking at KGO & EGO as more of a better PV.
With so much out there it's quite the adventure to try & figure out what on earth.
You info is very helpful & thank you for that.

I believe I'll spring for the KGO as it appears it probably will at least get me going & off the analogs.

Much of how your PV performs will have to do with the juice and ohms accessories you use. This post by tj99959 sums it up perfectly-Post # 8:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/383597-1-month-whats-next.html
As for quality/ factual stats I've distributed 500+ Kgo batts thru a vaping prog at a non profit org I volunteer with and the failure rate on the batts is 4. Also have a number of friends/ converts that stopped smoking via the Kgo and most are still using it. I've got a Provari, Don, eGo, Spinners, Twists and still enjoy my Kgo- easy to use, good voltage, long battery life and durable.
You might get more input if you began a new thread asking for input from Kgo users IMHO.

Hate to do this BUT "if" $$ are tight you may want to consider the E-POWER NOVA KIT. Everything you need to get started including juice:
Kit Includes:
2 ICR 14650 1050 mah 3.7 V rechargeable batteries
1 Battery Charger
2 2.5ml Mini Vivi Nova's with Ming style Silver drip tip (Use any 510 drip tip)(With 1.8ohm heads)
2 Extra 1.8ohm Heads
1 Battery Tube
1 Switch (HAS 5CLICK ON/OFF LR FRIENDLY WHITE LED)
30ML Bottle of E-Liquid (Specify flavor and strength)
Free priority shipping

Instruction Manual
Presentation Box
It also fires at 3.7 volts but the diff is the batteries are separate meaning when they die/ wear out you can buy 2 batts for less than $10.00. The batteries are inserted into a Tube. Batteries 1050 mah. Albeit a little more expensive but with everything it comes with ( 2 X Mini Vivi Novas, 2 heads, 30 ml juice and free shipping) it is an amazing deal IMO.
COMPLETE E-POWER NOVA KIT and 30ml juice (Free priority shipping)
CCV is also an ECF listed/ verified vendor.

jcco I'm new to vaping but my son hooked me up he's been doing it for about a year. He sent me the KGO 1100 mAH from Hoosier added an Stainless Steel Tip from Smok Tech and a Vision Dual Coil 510 Atomizers and I LOVE it! The battery lasts me about 3 days gives me the Throat Hit and smoke I needed. Hope this helps.
