New to vaping, 22 days analog free. I started with the 21st Century Smoke kit, and bought a smok Tech 510 kit last week. I'm already tired of having to keep charging batteries, so I'm now on the verge of buying an eGO or E-power PV. What function does the "cone" piece on these units serve? Is it strictly cosmetic or does it actually do something?

the cone on the epower is just cosmetic...works the same with it on or not...just for looks basically. gotta say i love my epower. its upgradeable and works great. has nice heft to it and lasts a long time. and i just ran into a perfect reason why i like it: i absentmindedly put in my battery backwards and fried the manual switch on the epower. all i had to do was order a replacement switch. was planning on buying backups in case it went out on me, but hadnt gotten there yet lol but now i will have a backup and it costs alot less than buying a whole new unit of something else. already ordered backup attys and cartos, and now all i have left to do is get backup batteries, but that's not so important because i already have two batteries. But I will get them soon b/c my recent "doh" moment makes me worried i will screw up the two batteries i have now somehow lol to continue about upgrades, there is a 14500 battery adapter kit and there is talk about making a variable voltage switch as well as an automatic switch! and all you will have to do after buying the epower is buy the new switch, whatever it is =) Good luck and hope I gave you some good info for making an informed decision!
Congrats on the 22 days analog free! May your vaping be long lasting!

Definitely NOT just cosmetic, holds the heat in, makes the draw much different, along with the tighter draw improves performance on Attys pulling the juice back up, it also stops the juice from leaking and running down the side of the batt and holds it in the cone instead. I however really like the Empire drip shields even better, set up properly they will do all of the above yet they will also allow the liquids to get sucked back into the Atty where the cone doesn't do this.! My observations only on the "cone" !
