I got 3 giantomizers yesterday. Terrible. Bad taste. Burning. Disappointed.
I tried several things to fix it as is, but gave up.
I just took out the silicone cup seal and replaced it with a ring of blue foam. Works well, but leaks a bit. Too much foam affects the taste. I might try a ring of Fluval polishing pad.

The mouthpiece really stinks, too. It looks like a black pacifier and dirt and dust really stick to it. I replaced that with a grommet with a drip tip inside of it pushed into the tube.

Not happy that it doesn't work out of the box, (I wasn't really expecting it to) but with a very minor mod, it seems to perform as well as my best tube mods. Still undecided on the flavor. It doesn't seem as good as the CE2's for some reason. Could just be my annoyance.

I'm sure these will get sorted out, but at this point I wouldn't reccomend them to anyone uninterested in taking the time to mod them.

edit- I split a Radio Shack vinyl grommet in half and slipped that over the ceramic cup as a seal so the cup is open on top. That seems to work the best for me, but now i'm sure i'll have to deal with condensation.

I don't know if you need to go that far. You could use this or you could do something like this and finally, there is this option, which is very similar to the first one I linked to.

The first option is NOT suitable as confirmed with avid they are not long enough. The battery extenders work fine but look rediculous at that length, so I agree unless someone makes a coupler then bring out the dremels :)

I haven't seen these cartos yet, but the photos make them look like they are built much like the tank and mega attys. - First, the dremel is the hard way to go. A pipe cutter is faster, easier, and works just fine even on the stainless attys. - The real concern when removing the skirt is that when you take it off flush with the connector, the connector will move. It is pressed in. There are ridges cut in to the connector that grip the inside wall of the atty housing. Cutting the skirt off flush can be problematic.

I made a couple of the second option yesterday. Works great and looks good. I cut the skirt off a couple of megas and a tank atty yesterday, too. So, (sadly) I'm speaking from experience when I tell you that the atty being pressed in to the housing can be a problem. I now have a couple of megas that can spin right on to most of my mods and I have a tank that will be used for spare parts. And, I have a bit of a concern that any abuse at all will render the megas I cut useless as well.

The fastest easiest thing to do is cut about 2/3 of the skirt off with a pipe cutter and use the first option.

If you Cleaned and Dry Burned the Giantomizer before you filled it then the bad taste is from poor wicking. A simple test is to point the battery end of you eGo up slightly when you vape.

If this doesn't help and you did Clean and Dry Burn it first, well, then there is a problem.

I did not clean or dry burn. Simply removing the silicone cap produced better flavor and solved the problems. I tried making the hole in the existing silicone ring larger and cut larger wedges for the wicks and it's working very well. I'm sure these will get fixed; I'm just getting really tired of beta testing and finding workarounds.

Yea, MiT says that they are this and that they are that. I watched four revisions of E2 come out and it was the same. "There is no liquid on the wicks". But there was. I think of using a MiT product without cleaning it as rolling the dice. They may be fine or they may have bat piss on the wicks. I dry burn everything I get from them. Period.

I don't have a Giantomizer in my hand but from what I have seen, it appears that you can Dry Burn them just like an E2. Isn't it a Jumbo E2 basicaly.

Good to hear they are working better. I open up the slots on the cup seal for the wicks on my E2's. Works very well.

If you are tired of Beta testing MiT products than there is only one thing to do. Stop buying their products when they first come out.

I got severly burned with the E2's. Fell into that "It has to be better next revision" thing. I really wanted to make them work because I saw the potential. I just didn't think it would take 4 major revisions, a few minor ones and about 7,800 posts on the ECF alone to get there. The people running that company have some serious Cranial Rectal Inversion.

This time I wised up and am going to wait, as much as it pains me, for a solid 2 months before I buy a Giantomizer.

I used to be one of those people that would stay up late or get up early on the day some New MiT product was supposed to come out. I would get all excited sitting there with a credit card in my hand say, “I know they fixed it this time. They had to fix it. It’s going to work right out of the box. This time is going to be Different.”

Unfortunately, one Cushing disappointment after another, and another, and another has taken it’s toll. Maybe I just wised up to the entire e-Cig thing. I’ve put in my share of hours of Beta testing for MiT like many others here on the ECF. And I’ve thrown my money down the crapper time and time again just to be told, “We fixed that. No more Glue or Bad Tastes. Next time better.” (BTW – The SmartCarts came out with Glue in them.)

I think the Giantomizer is going to be a Fantastic product. The key words are “going to be”.

The E2’s had to be revised MANY times. The Clearomizers came out with Tubes that Cracked or just plain Fell Off. The SmartCarts are now at SmartCarts v2. Why wouldn’t the Giantomizer go down the same road as all the other MiT products?

Beta testing for MiT is BS... it's not like there aren't any vapers in China. There is no excuse the products should be thoroughly tested before going into production / market and us consumers should not be having to pay the price.

I have 15 pcs on their way and if they do not work as advertised (I will fill, sit for awhile and then do the 20 no inhale puff thing) but if there is a burning taste and/or leakage they are going back to the retailer to be their problem not mine. Too many people are taking the loss rather than sending back and complaining. Operations like COV who post quick demos suggesting the product works as advertised should be handed the consequences.

I have heard some good reviews and really hope I can do the same but we shall see.

I agree 100%. But it is what it is.

My dealings were with e-Liquid.con directly. They do not have a return policy.

Buying from a US retailer is your best call. As for testing. Sure, a well run manufacturing company with good people would not release junk onto the masses. But who said MiT is such a company?

Your Giantomizers might work great right out of the box with your PV and Juice. I hope they do. My experiece is that the first batch of products MiT makes is a crap shoot. Some work great. Some work not so great. And some just don't work at all.

The problem is you need to open them to find out. And once you open them, no one wants to except them as returns. I can understand that part.

My advise is to keep your fingers crossed and have some PTB material ready. PTB is a simple mod that helps wicking for those who don't want to tilt their PV up when they vape.

We all have been Beta testers in the vape world, all of us that have been vaping for the last 2 years or so anyway. As for MiT the owner speaks for himself and buying from a USA vendor is highly suggested. We are and have been getting bombarded by the Chinese with ecig products over the last 2 years and especially lately, they are throwing so much junk at us it isn't funny anymore. Being first to purchase something just isnt a good thing any more to me, I would much rather be last and have plenty of stuff here to keep me going till my number is pulled. I even did a thread a little while ago about all the junk product that is being marketed and sold to us over here in the USA, most of it is pure trash and a real waste of money, in fact the nicest Mods I have are built right here in the good old USA, nothing against the Chinese either I totally respect them and they started all of this but dam some of the pure junk they put out and sell us and our vendors shouldn't even have gotten through R&D and produced yet alone have been sold. WAIT, YEILD, I say don't go out and rush a purchase ANYMORE especially all this trash that is being thrown at us from overseas ! Also like I said all the Mods I have that have been made right here by our USA modder vendors have been the tops of the tops, thank god for good old Atomizers too, they blow away any CE2 that I have ever used, Atty's are sure one good thing that has come out that I WILL keep buying !!! as well as my VV Ali, Reo Grand, Provari these will stay in my line up of Mods used on a daily bases with an ATOMIZER ! NOUGH SAID !!!

I'm sure i'm not unique in my experience that vaping may have saved my lungs but not my wallet.

Of all the products I have owned I would only really stand by my Silver Bullet, ego passthroughs and ego (1000mah) bats (but with the understanding that these are low priced and I replace every 3-5 months.) I like my boge LR 510 carts but only for 1-2 fills. I love 306 LR atomizers (at least "cisco" ones.) Products that now lay in my junk bin: bunch of 808 carts and batteries, greencig products, go go, ego-t.

Retailers create the demand for products by pimping out products by way of reviews and videos, directly or through shills either without fully testing or by not disclosing true performance results. If us customers stopped buying into this then the manufacturers would stop being prematurely awarded for any product of the day that gets released. For me if giantomizers disappoint then I will have learned my lesson and like others have said, not jump to buy anything until it has been out for awhile.

OK, after milling an air channel in the connector, I got my Giantomizer to work reasonably well. Took somewhere around 2ml of vaping and cutting bigger slots for the wick in the silicone cap for it to start to work properly. To those who have had leaky "windows" I don't think that's completely accurate, at least not in my case. What I have noticed is construction consists of a full plastic CE2 type reservoir with an aluminum sleeve over all. What I think is happening is condensation is running down between the plastic reservoir and the aluminum tube and coming out the window. I just tested mine and sitting it would not leak. In use I got what looked to be a "leak" around the window. I fully cleaned and blew it out, filled it and let it sit overnight with no leak. After vaping it for a couple of hours the window started to weep, I set it down for awhile and drops eventually rolled out the window. I just sealed the junction of the plastic tube and the aluminum one, and will see if that solves the problem.

I'm not normally a cartomizer user and I've tried several brands without much success. The first twenty puffs on this one was the worst taste I've ever had on an e-cig but I think I should have let it set for awhile to soak into the wick. It began to improve after about the first ml. I'm now on my second refill and the taste has improved alot. They are still not up to par with mega attys for me but like I said I've never been a carto user so it just may be my preference for Attys. I really want to like these because of the capacity, looks and window so I'm going to give them a fair shot. At least they work with Riva and ego batteries so you don't have to invest alot of money to try them like you do with a GoGo, Vgo or Leo. I would suggest just buying one or two instead of the five pack.
I think you are right about it not being a crack in the tank causing the leaking but it feels like juice and you have to wipe it down. I'm not familiar with the condensation issue but you are probably right. I thought it was juice leaking out the top hole and running down to the window. It definately doesn't leak alot or all the time.

Yes but sterlings shipping is almost twice the cost so they come to 10 bucks each after shipping and the other vender price you are quoting is 9.60 each after shipping.

Ahhh my bad didn't consider that. However if bigger order then would be a greater difference obviously.

I ordered one and it arrived today. I haven't tried it out, but I'm sitting here with eyebrow raised. It's in an anti-static bag. - Like a hard drive or RAM or other sensitive electronics.

Having never been compelled before to try a carto, I have to ask: Is this normal? I can't quite imagine what damage static could do (none, I'm thinking), so why would it be in anti-static packaging?
