Wizard, ill try the shotglass thing i suppose... you pretty much just drown it in juice and blow out the excess and wipe it clean right?

That's what I do :)

Once it's saturated the juice will seal the bottom of the carto against the shot glass so you've gotta pick the thing up to get it to drain all the way, but yeah, I pretty much soak the thing and then blow it out.

I went to tractor supply this morning too. Got a couple boxes of sharps (six each 1 1/2" 16 and 18 gauge) and two 20ml, two 12ml and three or four 6ml syringes. Came to nine bucks :)

I'd rather have blunt needles for mixing and filling cartos and I may grind the pointy part off these needles but the prince was certainly right.

not really sure whats different about the KGO from the eGo battery. from all i have read anyways. pretty much the same thing

The difference is pretty significant. An eGo battery is a 3.4v device and a KGO puts down better than 3.8v under load. With the same cartomizer on both the KGO will hit a fair bit harder.

That's what I thought at first also, but for filling cartos I find the sharpies go down the side of the tubes easier without disturbing the filler as much as the blunt ends.

aah ok i must have missed that.

Joanr, do you know if the ego cone cover will fit over the Boge 2.0s? i would assume so. guess im gonna order some of these and see how they work.

Yes it does in most cases. But with everything else from China, some of the cones have a bigger bore that others. I have several cones from the joye egos that a few are real tight fits and others slide right over no problem. They do make big bore cones for peeps that use the clearos or wider diameter cartos but the regular ones should fit ok.

Edit: With the smaller cap cartos it's essential to get them soaked on first fill and even let them sit for awhile and absorb the juice and then go back and add a tad more. When I fill the Boges I do like Wiz does, I drench them...

I thought of that, however I'm pretty clumsy :D

Guess we'll see - if filling or DIY causes me to bleed I think I'll go back to blunts ;)

The Boge 2.0s and the 1.7 Resurrectors work great with ego type batteries.

This is good advice. Boge 2.0's and Resurrectors are cheap, simple, effective, and reliable. In my opinion they are well suited for beginners. Before losing patience and buying a pack of analogs, I would encourage anyone to try these.

ordered some of the Boge 2.0s and some drip tips. kinda wish they had whistle tips for these. also ordered some of their VG juice, figured why not since it was 6.99 for a 30ml bottle... its 90% VG 10% PG though.. heard that heavy VG based liquids dont work well with cartos. but we will see. its been a process finding some juice i like. currently im unsure if the juice i have really tastes and hits as bad as it does or if its part of my bad luck with cartos...

thanks for the tips everyone.

But... Drip tips can be switched around and yet the flavor in the carto remains the same. Plus not everyone uses drip tips (including this guy).

Well aside from using some type of perm marker fine point or colored dots or nail polish I'm out of any other ideas unless you have an engraver and want to engrave them....But, here is the thing. My hubby has a Brady label maker for labeling cables in a/v racks. The material is pretty waterproof also. And they do make vinyl labels in all sizes for the Brady and for printing on deskjet or laserjet printers.

Edit: they do make drip tips for the ego type B atty that fit these emdccs. The metal ones come in many different colors, you would just have to keep track of them.

Exactly, I had a friend who was so discouraged by gear that was complicated to use that he almost quit vaping and back to cigs. We tend to get caught up in what's new and cool, but frustration can take over and really send a person back to their old habit. I think keeping it simple is good for both beginner and veteran vapers. I should take my own advise from now on and stop trying everything that pops out on the market.....lol. But these emdccs were the answer all to many people and now that we are finding problems it's getting discouraging for many.

I got my vv box mod today, and I can safely say I'm done with the EMDCC now. I will miss the massive amount of liquid storage, but this thing hits like a truck and has a lot less trouble outside of filling it more often. I'm sure there are decent xl 510 cartos I can use instead.

HAHA, I was a holdout, I ordered a 510 to ego adapter to use on my VV box mod. But no, I'm not using the box with the emdccs anymore. Actually now I'm using it with an atty and tip to drip my BB into the atty at about 4.5V. It's a nice little box for so cheap.

I was told not to drip in to the box, as spillage will kill the poor guy. I've got it cranked to 5vish levels with 3 ohm boges, and it's killing the EMDCC in flavor and vapor.

Hey Vegastar, just wanted to say Hi, I grew up in G.R.! small world eh? Have you tried cranking that thing down to 4v or less on the EMDCC? I'm using my box exclusively with it at 3.9-4v and it's got great vapor and flavor. I just put on the new EPDCC and it's rocking nicely in the same voltage range. I doubt I'll ever go back to the little carto's. :)

Can't fit an EMDCC on it either way. It's got a recessed connector. I'd have to daisy chain 3 or 4 extensions to clear the skirt. Not worth the effort IMO.

I know there has been reports of problems with the EMDCCs from MadVapes and VapingZone, but how about this one:

510 Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer - 1.6 ohm, 4.5ml, - Black w/tip

I haven't heard that anyone has tried these yet, so maybe they are a possible winner for a time. I'm currently using a smaller carto from them that is definitely a winner:

Dual Coil Cartomizer - 1.5 ohm, 2.5ml, Mega XXL - Stainless w/tip

Dual Coil Cartomizer - 1.5 ohm, 2.5ml, Mega XXL - Stainless w/tip...all I can say is to buy a bunch. I love them and they run on almost all the mods that I have. AVE's havana cigar flat rocks in them. I actually was so impressed that I have about 30 of them. I have yet to have one fail or go south.

I haven't tried the second one you linked too. I wonder if they are from the same manufacturer that vapingzone uses.

I think the 510 Ego Mega Dual Coil Carto is the same one Mad Vapes sells.
