no air tube in the emdcc's but might be possible somehow with those coils. :) that's one of the problems with the emdcc's ... no air tube to keep the air flow open. with a shorter length of filler it wasn't much of a problem, but with the extra filler they added it's near impossible. hmmmm ... was wondering what to do with all that extra time i have on my hands?

update: since coils can't be blocking the center opening, i still don't see a way to restuff these.

I did it with one from mountainvapor. It's not easy but it's not hard. The hardest part is getting the top littl piece of tube to stay at the edge of the filler.

It does happen now and then, bad cartos, try a new one and if that's bad I'd open a ticket with the vendor. I don't know what's happening lately with quality of several different MFGs cartos, it's like a crap shoot to get a 5 pk with all of them good. I've still got a few emdccs from July left. I'm saving them for special occasions like when I have to go out of town and don't want to cart around a bunch of bottles with me.

I still have 20 of the originals, and I plan to hold 15 in reserve for the same purpose you are. In the meantime, I'll be looking for some more that work. Large capacity cartos that deliver so well will spoil you. If I don't find more good ones, I'll go back to the Ego-T Type B large tank (2 ml). I'm also interested to see what Kgo batteries do with the Type B large tank.

When I first started vaping, I was very worried about my cartomizer or atty dying on me while I was away from home. And nothing I used carried enough juice for me to leave without bringing juice with me. So I always carried a box with extra "stuff" in it. An extra battery, parts, juice, etc. That's a hassle. If it wasn't so hot here, I'd put a box in the car and just leave it, but the heat would probably kill a battery or juice.

But as time went on, I never had a problem where I needed that box other than refilling juice. And once I started using EMDCC's, I didn't need to refill juice while I was out and about.

So I quit carrying the box.

Last night, that came back and bit me. I went out dancing. Driving over there, my ego was vaping fine. For the first 30 or 45 minutes, it was vaping fine. Then it started giving a bad taste/smell. A burning smell.

I'm still smoking a little (not much, compared to before) so I had a pack of cigs and I smoked a lot more than usual. I'd go awhile, get antsy about a cig, light one. Within a few puffs, I wanted to put it out. Cigs don't do real well if you put them out and relight them later, but I did that a fair amount.

I've no idea what happened to my EMDCC. I know I had filled it just before I left, so it wasn't out of juice. It's the first time I've had one not work correctly, other than getting gunked up after a week or two of use. And getting gunked up doesn't kill it all at once - you start to notice it, and it keeps working (suboptimal) long enough to swap it out when it's convenient.

You know, this is a really good point as the EMDCCs have made me a little overconfident too. I'm thinking a 650mAh battery, a 3ml bottle of juice and a 306 atty with a drip tip will fit in an Altoids box and make a heck of an emergency kit - since I DIY and currently vape 9mg I'd probably raise the nic level on the emergency juice, but I quit carrying backups too - if I'm gonna be gone for the evening I just top off the carto and stick it on a fresh battery.

I'm guilty of this also. However, if I'm going to be too far gone for too long, I usually take some backup with me. One of my last two "Smok" EMDCCs wasn't working properly from the get go. It has never run on anything but one coil. I used it anyway, but sure do miss that second coil. Also the coil that isn't working has caused the thing to gunk up pretty quickly. Chalk it up as my first EMDCC that doesn't work properly.

I just built the emergency kit with stuff I had laying around - found that a 900mAh Smoktech battery, a 6ml bottle of juice and an atty with a drip tip fits just fine in an Altoids box - my 1100mAh KGO batteries won't, though.

I did mix up the emergency juice at 18mg instead of 9mg, though - I figure if it's an emergency I'd probably like to spend less time vaping than I normally do :)

I wish EMDCCs came with condoms - I'd rather put a loaded carto in there but am afraid the thing will dry out - I could put it in a ziploc bag but they're not always airtight.

I may be recalling incorrectly, but I think the EMDCC (off brand, but better IMHO) from Vaping Zone came with a condom. I may be wrong...it's been over a month. I'm about to order some more in a few days from them, so I'll try to remember to clarify when I get them.

Maybe the singles do but the 5-packs don't - I just got four boxes of them a couple days back :(

You know I haven't tried that combo yet, just went in to my supply box and realized I have 50 or so various colored B-Tanks but absolutely no B-Atty, which comes as no surprise since I could never get one to last more than 2 weeks....So I just tried an A-type tank and atty. Of my three KGO batts, only one will fire a 510 threaded joye ego specific device, the center pin problem, but the one that would fire it was more than satisfying and tasted better than on a 650 joye batt. Also expected that. They do fire up stronger and hotter than the joye ego batts, even the 1000 joyes.

I'd never go back to the joye tanks again, you might think about using a J-Tank or LavaTank with the Boge 2.0s. Yes, those of us who bought the emdcc before it was re-designed got spoiled by the draw and relative problem free ease of use. I notified MV of the weirdness with the new ones and I think we all should if we want anything to change it would start with all of us. They will probably see a slight drop in sales from dissatisfied ECF users but not even realize why unless we say something to them...and it gets reported back to Smoktech. Maybe even leave some comments on Smoktech's China Website...

If you have any of the joye ego mega cartomizers left over from last year, they came with a bottom plug and a tip cap. I've got a slew of those laying around and use them to air tight hubby's emdccs. Works great! So does Saran Wrap....

I have 5 SR B-Atties that work like the day I bought them 5+ months ago. I haven't tried the LR atties, but I assume that's what you burned up. You made some good points about reporting the problems with the EMDCC's. I can't do that yet because I haven't tried anything but the originals. I have some that have worked over a month without cleaning - I cleaned them and put them back in service. I generally toss them when it comes time for a second cleaning. I haven't tried your suggestions yet, but I did try quite a few 510 type wonders that I wasted my money completely on. By the way, I didn't experience any problems with the Ego-T Type B large tank and was very happy with the performance. I realize there must be variety to make everyone happy.

I've been very happy with them. I think they work as well or a little better as the original batch of Smok cartos.

I'm very happy to hear this since I just ordered 10 of them - 5 marble and 5 black and gold. I also just watched a video review on them, and the rating was thumbs up - buy them. I'm hoping to have the same experience as you have. I'll let everyone know after I've used one for a day or two. I really don't mind the extra 50 cents per carto if they work right.

Don't know if you saw it or not but coupon code ECF10 will give you 6% off if the order is more than $30. 6% of a $30 order is only $1.80 but if you wanted an almost-free drip tip or something it'd be worth it ;)

Let us know how you like the vz cartos - like I said, I've been pretty happy with them :)

I did send hoog a PM with a link and suggested he read the last few pages of this thread. Hopefully he'll make an appearance but if I get an answer I'll let y'all know.

I never got an answer to that PM. I know madvapes is having a few growing pains right now but the ten seconds it would have taken to say "thanks - we're on it" would have improved this customer's loyalty quite a bit.
