Anyway, no thanks Mr. Sponge Bob on a tube. I'll stick with the Echo-E cartomizers (soon to also be dual coil) when using my Ego.

Thanks for the nod to the Echo-E carto, DSL. Seems to be well-liked; I'll have to give it a whirl!

I'll be very curious to hear any results from those who try an ultrasonic cleaner. After reading the thread below, I thought we may have found the holy grail for cleaning...

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...rasonic-cleaning-atomizers-very-best-way.html

So I bought this cleaner on sale for $25...

Ultrasonic Cleaner - Save on Ultrasonic Cleaners at HFT

And honestly, the results were not so great. I tried straight PGA, distilled water, and 50/50. Some cartos seemed like new again and some cartos seemed worse than before the cleaning. Now my ultrasonic cleaner is collecting dust.

I think the ultrasonics work better on atomizers, not so much cartos. The best thing I've found to power clean is the flush method or my steam cleaning method. If you have a little portable steam cleaner that has a long nozzle, point and shoot, but wrap a folded up towel around the carto so you don't burn your hand. They come out sparkling white and dry in less time than soaking in DW. Only thing is they never really loose the flavor of juice that was in them before so I use again with similiar tasting juice. I don't want to soak these in lemon juice or vinegar, or use the baking soda method, too much filler.

For those having a problem with clogging the center tube. You can insert a round toothpick gently into top of hole and then fill. It will help keep the juice outa the tube. Or, just aim down the sides of the tube and go around as you re-fill. I always blow it out after filling to clear any juice from the tube, gently from both ends, then make sure you can see through the tube. Using these methods I'm still running with my original 5 I bought in July, having only thrown out two that hubby was using, he didn't take care with them....I still have another 5 that I'll put into service soon as I order 5 more. I use these strickly on my ego batts, for my PTs I use the Boge 2.0 cartos. Both are my favorites for different hardware.

Hi all,

Since July 18th I've put six EMDCC's into service. Three of those are still in service and the other three I have pitched. One of the three I pitched, because the draw had become too tight and the other two just looked too gross to continue use.

I'm not going to take the time to clean these cartos, because I'm satisfied with the length of service that I'm receiving. The juice I'm using cost more than the EMDCC's... So I would rather use a fresh EMDCC to attain the best vaping experience possible than try to revive a cheap carto at the expense of wasting juice or receiving a subpar vaping experience.

I still love using EMDCC's because they continue to offer me a quality vaping experience, that is low cost... AND hassle free.:)

But as with all things in life, we all have different needs and desires... So your experience may vary.

Thanks for takin' the time to read my ramblings. Carry on.:vapor:

Makes sense Kirwin, nothing like your favorite juice in a fresh carto, second fill and after is always best.
Those of you using the Boge 2.0, off topic but I see a lot of us use a few different cartos depending on the hardware, these are coming in stock soon at GoodProphets for 5.95 5/pk. I've seen these for as high as 8.95 and thought the GP was a great price. Last I checked they only had the 3.0 in stock, but they said on the 22nd or so.

I think my problem is from not being careful about getting juice down the center tube. I'm going to try a couple of different cleaning methods today to see if I can save any. I'll use the cleaning kit I bought and the Ultra Sonic cleaner with PGA and see which is best and post my results if anything works.

I've been using two of my EMDCCs since Saturday, one with Gorilla Juice, the other with Havana Gold. Vapor is excellent. Throat hit is good. No leaks. I only wish the flavor were a bit stronger. I'm not complaining though. In my opinion, these cartomizers function very well. They're certainly less trouble than my eGo mega type B atomizers.

wow ... it was really great reading all the posts since i last posted, so i thought i'd give my own update! :)

i had to actually toss an emdcc after only 1 day's use. it wasn't working great to begin with and then just quit (totally dead ... nada) right in the middle of taking a draw, so i wasn't messing around with it at all. also, when i pulled the filler, i didn't notice any burn on that one or the other 2 i pulled the filler on (saving for later use on something). i must not be dry burning them. lol so far, since early in july, i've given one away, opened 10, and 3 have died on me, so i have 7 left in rotation. sometimes late at night, i've just opened a new one because i didn't want to fool with anything and wanted to hear the snap, crackle, and pop (if it's going to do that ... some don't). for some reason, i'm still able to use the 2nd one i opened. after all i've read, i am wondering about the echo, but i like a warm vapor, so i'm in no hurry. also, i have tried the emdcc on my passthru and it works great, but i'm not sure what the actual voltage is. i've read that not all ego passthru's are 5 volts because they are limited or something like that. anyway, mine sure doesn't vape like 5 volts.

concerning the filler tube closing up, i seem to have more of a problem with that when my juices are too thin. really thin juices seem to swell the filler more. anyway, i've found that i need to run the paperclip thru between fillings (any time the draw gets tight). if i let that go, it just almost completely closes. condensation on the battery seems to cause a tight draw, too. also, some new emdcc's seem to have a problem with the opening in the filler being too narrow (the position of the coils seems off), and i have to push the filler to the side a little before i can even get to the coil to push it aside (and keep doing that). i guess i figure that opening 10 of these in 6 weeks is enough, for now, so i'll try using the 7 i have cleaned and waiting to be cleaned before i open any more.

one thing i've found is that, since i chain vape in spurts, i'm better off having 2 of these going at once, so as not to heat the coils too much on any one of them. i tend to take very long inhales that really heat the carto up, and i'm not sure that's very good for me or the equipment. these are just my current observations. experiences seem to vary with each person, their vaping habits, and the juices they use. i'm still a happy camper with my emdcc's and plan to order more of them as soon as i can afford to.

I had this idea a couple days ago - anybody tried an EMDCC on a KGO battery? I'm thinking this might be quite the ticket if someone wants to use an EMDCC and still use an eGO-style battery setup.

yepper, on the kgo's! a few of us like the kgo/emdcc combination. i prefer kgo's or ego passthru to ego's any day. for batts, so far, my only experience is with kgo's, ego's, 510's, ego passthru, and now my vv box ... in that order. i finally made it thru the "vv honeymoon" and am now just using my vv box for when it feels right. think i'm going to need another set of kgo's soon, or i'll graduate to a cylinder mod first ... been window shopping mods for awhile now.

Thanks, VG - I want to stay with an eGO-shaped thingie and a KGO battery's a fair bit hotter than what I've got now. Think I'll give it a try :)

you're welcome! i don't think you'll regret going with the kgo at all. after 5-1/2 months, mine still tested at 4.1+ on a voltmeter. :)

I have a question. Actually, I have 2 questions. I ordered the "Ego mega dual coil cartomizers". I like low resistance atomizers, ever since I discovered them. I looked on the Mad Vapes website and I couldn't find "low resistance Ego mega dual coil cartomizers". Do they even make such a thing? I haven't received my order yet but I'm now worried that I ordered the wrong thing.

Also, I just saw something on Mad Vapes, while searching for "low resistance Ego mega dual cartomizers" that said not to use low resistance atomizers with Ego batteries. YIKES! That is what I have been doing for 3/4 months. Here is what I read:

Low Resistance(less than 2.0 ohms) atomizers and cartomizers should not be used with eGo batteries.
MadVapes 510 Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer Kit

I ordered some 510 low resistance atomizers from Green House One and that is what I have been using, direct dripping.

I didn't know you aren't supposed to use low resistance atomizers on Ego batteries.

You ordered the right thing - EMDCCs are LR cartomizers. They have two 3.2 ohm coils in parallel for a total resistance of 1.6 ohms.

EMDCC are low resistance already. They use two 3ohm atomizers hooked in parallel. This results in a net resistance of 1.5ohms. I doubt your ego battery could handle much lower than that. I have been using these for several weeks with no ill effects on my batteries. They will chew up the charge on a standard 650mah battery pretty quickly. Figure about 60 percent of the time they used to last you between charges...

OK, thanks. Glad to know I ordered the correct thing. Hmm. All I have are the 650's. So about half the time they usually last me. Guess I need bigger batteries.

Maybe that is the reason Mad Vapes says not to use Ego batteries with LR atomizers. But I have been using LR atomizers with the 650 batteries for a long time and haven't noticed any difference in performance. Just when I think I get a handle on the understanding of how things work, I find myself all confused again, LOL.

If you're using LR attys now with the 650s you probably won't see a lot of difference in battery life - depends on what the resistance of the LR atomizers you're using now. If they're around 1.6 ohms you shouldn't see any difference in battery life.
