Yes, I think we should definitely have an eGo/Riva/etc. specific thread. I just got a Riva, and as others have said, sifting through all the non-eGo 510 info and replacement parts makes getting accurate info hard for a newbie like me.

A thread would get cluttered quick. There is not only one eGo specific thread, but many in the eGo users social group. eGo User's Group

According to the closed thread "what can I post with in eGo group?" ONLY Joye manufactured eGo's, or their rebranded clones (tornado, Happy eGo, etc) can be discussed in the eGo users group.

Riva (which I believe is made by Hello Group and is most likely BETTER than the eGo),
T-Rex, vGo, etc, are considered second rate knock offs and can only be discussed in comparison to the "true" eGo!!!!!!

If I read it right, that means that until the moderators broaden the scope of the 'eGo group', all us satisfied Riva vapers are NOT welcome there and we still don't have a place of our own!!!! Do we need to request a Riva sub forum??
What if I promise to only use genuine Joye attys??? Can I post then????

Cant really do anything with a user group. Start your own Riva group is about all you can do. Mods wont go in and tell the group admin how to run there group. You can create your own and run it how ever you like. I personally wouldnt mind see maybe a eGo /riva /whatever else they call them ... section in the open forum. It does seem to be the PV of choice for most vapors.

I don't know the exact rules. I suppose that they are for some purpose. From my personal point of view, the devices coming from the original designer of the eGo (Janty) and its original manufacturer (Joye), as well as their approved/licensed re-branded products (Tornado), deserve a different treatment than other clones. In this sense, do you know if some of those other "clones" are approved or licensed by Janty?

Well i think thats why that user group is Joye Tech only eGo's they invented it and put it out first. Riva bse bauway all make a similar version of it. I am sure there are more companies that do too. But the link above to the user group. It is a "user group" anyone registered here can make there own user group. They can make public or private and pretty much what ever rules they want for members that join. User Groups are like separate forums that are administrated by the member that made the group. They are nothing like the open sections of the forums that are administrated by mods

When a post is made within that group, does that post show up in the "new posts" as a new post. If so, a group is really all we need, and we can label it Ego/Riva/Tornado etc. Group as pedromj said above. That way many threads can be started about different subjects specific to these hopped up 510 devices. Now that I own one, I cannot imagine using my vapor king 510 unless I really needed to try and hide it. But even so, I have gotton pretty good at hiding my ego while using it. I am all for a new group.

Now, if in this group I learn that using my old 510 can deliver more flavor by using certain attys, or cartomizers, then I may just pull it out of the drawer and use it again.

By the way, I have been using the attys that came with my joye ego, and they work like a champ. I also bought a 5 pack of extra long attys, didnt really know that you needed extra long carts to go with them. Had bought a box of 50 standard carts, and only have 5 xl carts. I was using the xl attys to drip with, and darn it, they all give off very little vapor, almost like they are running low on juice, but without the burnt atty taste. I also went through a stage where I got the atty too dry, and they tasted sooooo nasty, way worse than the standard sized ones that came with the ego and vapor king.

Any advice? I know my xl attys are clean, as I soaked them in 70%Isopropal for about 15 minutes, and dried them in a fan all night after blowing them out.

I would guess that there are at least a few other 'eGo' brands made by Joye and licensed by Janty, but I don't know which.
I've been told by a knowledgeable member here that Hello makes Riva and EM makes the attys that come with the Riva. I'm sure several other eGo types are rebrands of the Hello Riva, but I haven't tried to track them down.

I understand not wanting to pollute an eGo discussion with posts about garbage counterfeits, but I would like to have a place to discuss hardware, accessories and maintenance techniques that apply to ALL "ego type devices".

I would be very interested in finding out exactly which companies make which parts for which devices. Does Joye purchase some of its parts from Hello? Does Hello use some Joye parts in the Riva? Does Joye outsource some of its attys to EM?

I think maybe the best thing is to see if maybe there can be a added sub forum in here For eGo type PV's . I guess the best thing to do is keep getting people in here to say they want one and bring it to the attention of the administrators. Since there is so much you can do with a eGo type battery that you cant do with a 510 i don't see why they wouldn't let a eGo device forum become a reality. I really don't think it should be buried in the social group forum but rather out in the open forum where everyone can benefit from the information. It does get a bit old trying to explain to a noob all the different things a eGo can do like lr atomizers and ego mega cone atomizer and the eGo mega cylinder atomizer and now the new ego cartomizer. A nice simplified but detailed information sticky on the eGo specific device forum could be linked to someone asking the common questions about a eGo. There is power in numbers we get enough people saying they want this and i am sure the Administrators will oblige
