It's just a different "feel" for me, but that holds true for pretty much all that I vape. Each has its own unique combination of flavor, throat hit, and overall experience. The only two that I find to be very similar are the Doggies & Erls, and I give the Erl just the SLIGHTEST edge in the flavor department.

Again though, those two are VERY similar to each other, so I'd be satisfied with either of them.

In my regular rotation are:
  1. Eggrolls
  2. Trons (S/T)
  3. Erls
  4. Doggies
  5. Ares
  6. Kabukis
  7. kayfun V2L+
  8. Kayfun ("Diamond" style)
  9. Carto Tank
  10. BIG (weiner) carto
  11. Small (regular) carto
I never know, on any given day, which I'll gravitate to that day. The first eight all get vaped very regularly, and often I'll spend a full day with whichever it is. The last three are more "just for fun", and I'll hit them whenever I feel like it.

So, "different" is about as extensive as I can get. I hope it helps somewhat, but I understand that it's vague (at best).

I used to smoke Marlboro Medium. Not regular, not "lights", nor any other brand. If I couldn't find Marlboro MEDIUMs, I'd be very, very unhappy.

The times, they HAVE changed. LOVING the vape, aye yam!!! :vapor:
I smoked the reds, then the lights, then generics as the taxes piled on. Never heard of Marlboro Medium. :?:

Me too neither.

They were also red colored, but a different pattern (more white than red, reverse of the full flavor ones. Lighter than Full but stronger than Light.

We were crazy (smokers).

Some of us are still pretty crazy (vapers). Self inclusion is obvious, I hope. ;-)

.. And little did I or we know that all just taste like doody.
Yup !
Yeah the ole Cowboy cig did the regs for well a long time did the ryo with a machine as well lol,
but DPL thanks for the reply and know what you mean in your response its very understandable . Sometimes will use the 2 diffferent types of genny tanks with coil build in one ss mesh in another same e-liquid and build the coil same ohm and both those and the clr and all had a different thing going on. Thanks again

I don't have that tank, but I do have a question about the CLR tanks.

Those suckers give me "No atomizer" readings in short order. I had the wismec tank that died. Fair enough, I knocked it over many times, I figured it was my issue.

BUT, I couldn't get my Tron-s to work with the CLR coils (yes, I am using those coils, not any other ones) from right out of the GATE. It won't read on any mods. Similarly, my Ego Mega V2 gave me one like 2 days after I tried using it. I have inspected the threads. They're fine. I've inspected EVERYTHING and tried multiple coils, but I consistently get a "no atomizer" read from ANY mod I try it on.

What gives? What mistake am I making? I have tried screwing them in pretty tight, and looser. I mean.... I couldn't even get my Tron-S up and running at ALL. I was loving my ego mega but it just (seemingly out of nowhere) gave me that reading. I really DON'T want to warranty them, am I missing some "secret"??

If not, I'm going to warranty because I've gone through a box of new coils on just those two tanks with very epically awful results.

HELP ME @Sugar_and_Spice ! LOL, or anyone else who seems to have a destructive effect on gear, like @DPLongo22 (no offense :) )

Anna

Anna, I use CLR coils a lot. I've found that about one in about 20 is bad. I've also discovered that removing the coil and using a cotton swab in the area where the coil meets the pin usually results in a bit moisture either from washing the tank on the coil leaked a bit. Removing the moisture many times fix the issue.

You've gone through 20 CLRs already???

I think I've got 6-7 running, and I've only recoiled one so far. So I guess I've been through eight, and it's been at least a year (I think).

I'm going to guess you're not re-wicking them - true?

In my regular rotation are:

I've found that I can't (adequately) "keep up" with more than 5 set-ups in my daily "rotation"...so currently...

I have 5 set-ups in my desk/Living Room rotation...plus...

3 set-ups in my Bedroom rotation...plus...

2 set-ups in my Bathroom rotation...plus...

2 eGo AIO's by the door for when I'm headed O&A...

I live in a ONE FLOOR apartment...but thinkin' about, and carrying, set-ups from room to room seems like it would be A LOT of "work"...

[Have NO set-ups in my "GF's Bathroom" or the other 2 Bedrooms...there I have to "wing it"...]

Question comparing clr 4ml megav2 tank to the Ares 4ml tank .

Has anyone tried the Ares tank now ii know they are very different setups but im very curious as to what someone says that has tried both tanks and there thoughts.

Curious about the Ares airflow and taste using the 1ohm prebuilt coils compared to the 1ohm clr coilhead airflow can the Ares adjustment be adjusted to a similar draw as i vape with the clr at 1 ohm with the airflow all the way open.
Also how about leakage from the Ares ?

I do not have an Ares tank although have seen many of its video's.
DPLongo or anyone else ?

Hi Diesler. I'm not sure if I understood your post completely. Are you referring to the Phil/Dimi tank called the Zenith, which does take pop in coils? The Ares is an RBTA. I don't have the Zenith, so no comparisons possible from me.

I like them both (the Ares and the Eggies with CLRs), but for differing vapes.

I can say tho, that the Ares (for the most part) has been bone dry since I started using it. It's a good tank. My fave? Nope, but still and all, it's a fine atty.

Just curious, but has anyone ever broken the glass tank section of a Mega V2?

Dunno why, but I’m thinking of getting one just to try. I have a Tron-S (starting to chip, but still working fine), 2 Totally Wicked Odyssey CLL tanks (still think these will last forever, but getting a little tired of the narrow viewing slot - one still in the box) and 2 Wismec Amor tanks (my least favorite flavor-wise, one still in the box). Not to mention that I’ve been getting into squonking with a Hcigar VT Inbox lately.

Heh. I’ll probably talk myself out of it.

No, Jumpin', I've never had a glass issue with the Eggs. Chipping paint, YES, but nothing with the glass.

I've found that about one in about 20 is bad.

Say WHAT?? I've only used a handful in the going on 2 years (preZactly 8), and have yet to find a bad one. These little guys just keep chuggin' along, and a super quick re-wick after a short pulsed dry burn is all that's needed for me.

I guess you and I will have to talk in a few years when I've used 20 of them. ;)

Kat the ares. Was trying to see about the pull (draw) on it compared to the mega v2 with a 1 ohm clr installed.
See i look at the diffuser that sits under the coil and all those small holes and seem to think perhaps it may be to airy for me compared to the 1 ohm clr.
What attracts me is the way it fills the e-liquid on the ares.

Now about the Zenith darn it , if they had a coil that could be rebuilt similar to clr's i would have bought one but i do not like proprietary coil heads for various reasons.

I don't recall if you mentioned it, Dieseler, and forgive me if you have, but have you tried the Siren v1? That would be the most comparable barometer, IMO. It and Ares are quite similar (again, "IMO").

DPL i have not i have never vaped this type of setup with a deck for lack of better term.
Should have said with the Ares and the Mega V2 clr 1ohm both airflows wide open to there max taking a dry pull (not firing) what is the difference between the two.

Thats my main concern as with the clr coil heads it made a difference between the .5 coil being to airy compared to the 1ohm which is what i been using for quite sometime now.

Making coils is no problem used to do mesh and genny's etc.
Perhaps with these clr's im almost being bored as they are so simple and basically trouble free and well stocked for life with the supplies needed for them but this ares has my interest perhaps because its a top fill.

It has what i consider a simple deck to rebuild coils but its the airflow draw that concerns me as it may be to airy with that as some say shower head diffuser under the coil.

So in short looking for someone that has both the ego mega v2 with one ohm coil head and the ares just taking a dry pull with airflows wide open and hearing what they have to say.

In the end i may splurge and just buy one and try it.

GOT IT!!!!! VERY well done (thanks!).

The Ares is significantly tighter (to me). Does that help?

LOL, thanks! :)

I'm not much of a tinkerer, so I'm not sure about the shower head thing. If I don't like something, it leaves. I'm basically a lazy vaper, who wants to do as little as possible to achieve a satisfying vape.

I have no doubt though that there are people who've already "re-purposed" it in some way, shape, or form. It may even make it great, who knows. But it will never be me (it's not in my DNA).
