You've gone through 20 CLRs already???

I think I've got 6-7 running, and I've only recoiled one so far. So I guess I've been through eight, and it's been at least a year (I think).

I'm going to guess you're not re-wicking them - true?

No, I haven't tried re-wicking. With my thumbs I'm lucky just to be able to get the coil in and out. Plus at less than 10 bucks for a box of five...

After a tiny bit of discussion with DPL, and your post, Diesler, I tried the dry pull on both tanks.

I concur.

Wide open on both, the Ares is tighter to me, too.

And the Ares is tighter than the Zenith. I wish one could remove the shower nozzle in the Ares.

People are saying the nozzle is just screwed in. If you stick tweezers in two of the holes you can unscrew it.

Hmmm. To me the stock wicking is way too tight in the coil so the coil performs much better after it is rewicked. Ymmv, of course.

Gnees, I saw that too. I have three of them. I cannot see, even under magnification, where the nozzle unscrews, and I'm not sure what I'd put in the holes to try. I have lots of tweezers but none pointed enough to fit in the holes.

And you might be correct. I'm not the best at this, so I might have too much wick. I'll try again when I get a chance.

I'll still LOVE the way those mods look, even when my time has expired. Hooked me from the moment I saw it. :thumb:

Unrelated to the beauty that is the VT75 Nano (aka "Fred", aka "Veyron, aka...), here's a little tidbit for the CLR lovers, relating to mods.

As much as I love the CLRs & eggies, I have only one issue that's less than perfect. Occasionally, I simply can't make a connection to a firing pin. I'll usually just switch mods, or bases, which solves the problem (and I continue on my merry way).

I've long owned a really cool little mod, recommended to me by the venerable @DavidOck , that is built like an absolute tank, and is both heavy but small in the hand (at the same time). For all the time I've owned it though, I never knew (until yesterday) that it had an adjustable pin. It's so rare to see that, especially these days, that it never occurred to me.

In assisting a friend yesterday, I discovered it. I almost took it back from him because I've only ONE other mod with that type of pin, and it's a very expensive mod that is no longer even available for purchase. I discovered it because he also likes the eggrolls, and it wouldn't make a connection on the mod. When I looked down, and realized that it MIGHT be adjustable, I almost couldn't believe it. I then tried it, and it worked!!!

I obviously couldn't snatch it back from his hands (thought about it though!), but I DID order another. The value of an adjustable pin (with a Philips head screwdriver) is tremendous (to me), especially for someone whose favorite tanks are prone to needing it.

The mod is the little known, and very much under-appreciated Ola-X Hero 30W. It's inexpensive, WELL built, and likely never to be seen again once gone. They just never took off like they should or could have, for whatever reason. My guess would be its weight, but there's a trade off for having a mod built like a brick :censored: house (and it IS).

FT still has some left, but only black & gold remain. All of $33 for a mod that's pretty much guaranteed to work with every eggroll you throw at it.

I'm not trying to encourage anyone to buy it, but I did want to share with just THIS group, since it's a potential problem-solver.

Links for any who may be interested (black and "gold", respectively):

That is all. :vapor:

This looks like the perfect place to ask this because it appears that y'all are knowledgeable about this tank and I am not. I have an Ego One Mega and am using it with a 1.0Ω coil. The issue I have is with the coil buring every time I hit it over 33w or for longer than 1.8s on my itaste mvp pro 3.0. Is there anything I can do to resolve this? Or is it something I am doing wrong that is causing this?

That seems a bit high in wattage to me? I mean, it's MTL coil and yes, at 1.0 it could technically go a bit high.... But I'm not sure you want it quite that high.

Also, chain-vaping on any coil but especially close to max wattage could do that.

Might want to check your airflow to, and also, what VG/PG mix are you using? I typically vape my 1.0 coils at about 10 watts. But I am a wattage total weenie.

Try turning the watts down.....are you chain vaping it? If so, you may not be giving time for the juice to re-soak the cotton.

I can't hit it over 3 times in a 5 minute time frame or it burns. I've tried it on 20w(about the lowest I am okay with) and if I go over 1.8s I end up getting a burned taste. I am using a 70vg/30pg with about 5-7drops of 50/50 for the throat hit. The coil is just the one they put in at the vape shop all I know about it is that it is 1.0Ω.

If you are looking for higher wattage, they make a 0.5 stainless steel coil, you might want to try one, it should withstand your wattage needs better. It also is TC capable to my understanding, which might help your coil life, actually.

What VG/PG ratio are you using? Your VG might be too high, causing the wick to gunk/clog.

You really have to find a way to either get a different coil, or turn down the wattage. It is just too high for that coil.

Anna

ETA: It's actually titanium, so you HAVE to vape it in TC mode. Vaping it in wattage mode would cause undesirable byproducts in your vape.
