Oh trust me I hate steroids and all my loved ones hate ME ON STEROIDS. I find EVEN myself hateful those times. But when it comes to poison ivy, well, there is no "choice" there.

LOL, despite all the awful stingy things I've been stung by in AZ, I remain comforted by the fact there is NO POISON anything.

I think my worst poison ivy escapade was in Costa Rica where I encountered poison oak. It sucked. Fortunately prednisone is over the counter there.

LOL, take the things you sell and buy SOMETHING (sorry @Katdarling, LOL) but frankly poison ivy is not the time to sell. LOL.

According to many in the Zenith thread...the coils...(especially the 1.6ohm)...may take 2-3 tankfuls to fully BLOOM...

I probably should have gotten poison ivy this summer, just to get on that seven day steroid joyride.

On days two and three I normally get many of the projects done on my wife's to do list, as I feel no aches and think I'm 22 again.

By day six I'm a sore cranky old man, even more than normal.

Many years ago I developed a bout of Bell's Palsy...and was started on a seven day course of steroids...

WOW!!! It was like the EASILY OBTAINABLE "Speed" that I enjoyed in college in the 60's...

I talked and talked...and talked...

My GF...constantly nodding in acknowledgement...said she felt like one of those bobblehead dogs people used to have on their car rear window shelves...

Well... I am bipolar... So I just get wacky but kind of edgy mean on them. Steroids may get me doing more THING or talking more TALK (but not necessarily talk or things you would WANT) and I stop sleeping. What with the endless pneumonia and then the recluse spider bites, me and my pdoc have like, developed a "Steroid mania rescue plan." It doesn't WORK that well but it keeps me out of the hospital.

It was really like the fourth round of steroids for my incipient COPD that beat me into a state of reasonableness, I just can't live that way.

I get legal amphetamine salts but since I'm actually ADHD, they chill me out. I mean, they do. I always take them with deep wonderment concerning why anyone would want to abuse them.

Of course, my fave social work professor defined addiction as "the right drug... meets the right brain." Still my favorite definition of all time.
