Yep burnt tire is probably a good way to describe what I'm tasting. I actually might try one more experiment to try and figure it out. I haven't been keeping track of what batteries I've been using. I have two coils left so I will try starting over but sticking to one battery for each coil. Maybe one of them is burning the coils.

same here.. and from various source I got the same feedback on the stock coils.. :-( I solved using the CLR coils with the juice control wide open and being rebuild-able I am also saving quite few bucks

Ok so that failed. Officially over it now! I'll just wait and see what happens with a new tank.
Gurgling and popping can suggest the coil is flooded but if you haven't overfilled the tank I am stumped. It sounds as though there's too much juice getting through somehow (?).
It is possible to get a crap batch of coils. Are you able to communicate with the supplier? I got a bad batch of coils a while back and the vape store gave me a new box for free. I've read on the forum where folks have contacted the supplier and had units replaced free of charge.
Okay, one last thing re: the coil. Is the coil completely screwed together? I know they can come apart even slightly when unscrewing the unit to refill. Check to make sure the top part (not the part that screws into the tank) of the coil isn't loose. I have to screw it on tightly almost each time I refill juice.

Hi Dewal, sorry to hear this. If you are getting a metallic taste then perhaps it's a problem with your set of coils as others have already pointed out - except if you are getting a burnt metallic taste then that suggests they are not wicking properly. Are they original Joyetech coils or clones?
Other than that, if you are still within the warranty period of your Ego One unit I would invoke it with either the vendor or Joyetech.

Reviews on youtube seem positive despite complaints about the proprietary coils, which apparently Kamry are going to do something about.

"Juice control"? Can you tell me what that is? Not the air flow, right?
Ok so I got the new kanger tank to replace the joyetech tank. It is quite an improvement but I can still taste the bad plastic taste. I feel a bit stupid, but I'm really starting to think it is all just my taste buds going crazy, as I can't see any logical reason to still be getting the same unpleasant flavour. At least now it is not un-vapable, so I will just wait and see if it passes with time.

Also you could try letting other people vape on your unit to get a second opinion. Then you will know if there's something wrong or if you are just going crazy
I don't know why you're tasting plastic but I can say I just upgraded to a Kanger Nano & SMY 60w TC from my Ego One, there isn't that much improvement, especially for the price. I'd try a different liquid & new coil to see if that helps or your taste buds possibly are acting a little wacky right now due to quitting smoking.
