Why is everyone so obsessed with the EGO (650mah/900mah) and Riva(900mah)?

Read the top post here:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...5-one-atomizer-killed-my-ego-batteries-3.html

Would someone PLEASE explain to me why everyone keeps buying devices that don't meet the requirements of their cartomizers or atomizers?? I feel like I'm missing something, looking into a black hole... Branding isn't THAT powerful .. or IS it??

The only mainstream device that is rated to keep up with the current draw is the Hello, at 1300mah.. and even the 1300mah barely is enough.

And that's not even considering how much more of a draw lower resistance atomizers/cartomizers are against the battery.. They're twice as demanding!

.....

DROZD is the only one who explained it so I can understand clearly

what we're dealing with here is a combination of 2 issues...
one scottbee explains in the quote I quoted him in above

the other...the overall life...
at 3.1V (voltage of an eGo/riva etc....) a 1.5Ω LR atty has an amp draw of 2.47A...
the eGo 650mAh has a max drain rate of .65A
the riva 750mAh ............................... .75A
eGo XL 900 mAh................................ .90A
the hello 1300mAh ........................... 1.3A

It'd actually be a 1.03A draw with a 3Ω carto... (it's voltage divided by resistance for amp draw)

.....

WHY are people buying 650mah/900mah batteries at all??

I'm not sure what you are getting at?
Mostly everybody likes not using a pcc and little batteries that are always being charged.
I also think many people like lr attys. What else are you gonna use them on?

A high voltage would be nice, but too much money usually. certainly more money than slapping a lr atty on a big batt. kills the batt.. Ok buy another batt for $20.
Actually less than $5 using a 14500, like on the DSE-905.
Worth it. :2c:

I think you are trying to convey something useful and important, but I I don't have an issue.

I have several 650MAH eGo batts and the perform beautifully with whatever atty I stick on them... for months. My only complaints are broken buttons and DOA 510's.

If there is a way to enhance it, I am all ears...

I primarily use my Buzz these days anyway... more cost effective I think.

Isn't a PCC one of those charger pack things?

I think we're talking about something completely different, here... I'm asking why people don't buy the "Hello 016" which is like the ego and riva but rated much higher at 1300mah..

To me, the Hello is just like an Ego but twice as powerful.. I mean that it should vape the same, but last longer (between charges and before dying completely) because it's rated much higher..

That's why I don't understand every few posts I see someone raving about and recommending the less powerful device..

Just trying to see what I'm "not getting" about all of this, you know? I think the Hello would be tough to beat as far as appearance, everyone who uses it seems to like it, the button and the light couldn't be better ...

I have 4 Tornados @ 650mah, 1 @ 1000mah. I also have 3 Hello 016s. They all work fine. Especially with 2.3ohm atomizers. The hello 016 has only been around for 4.5 months, the Tornado/EGO were available last year sometime. There were some charging issues with the 016s when they first came out. The RIVA has been around for a few months and I have 3 of these batts ($49) coming from China.

The TornEgos/Riva are smaller and more discrete than the 016. They fit in my shirt pocket better. I carry 3 with me (different flavors) when I am out and about.

We are talking about the same thing, big batteries.

Are you asking why everyone isn't getting the hello 016?

I would say one reason is the cone/atomizer. I do think it's a good atty but I still like lr attys better. Particularly lr 901 attys.
I do not like the way it looks with another atty or carto on it.

I currently use an ego 650 mAh(knockoff), hello 016 1300 mAh and DSE-905 900 mAh.
I seem to favor the 905.

My original atty from 60 days ago is still going strong running on an eGo 650mHa battery. No problems. The only problems I've had are with non-Joye attys. The cheap knockoffs which I bought thinking I had a deal- learned my lesson.

Also- who want's a battery like a baseball bat? I need to exist in a number of environments that are not friendly to an "arc welder" connected to an atomizer.

I would also avoid the Hello 016 as a kit, because the atomizer supplied with it is garbage. The battery might be nice. But again- size matters.

There is a middle ground spectrum of what people are willing to carry around with them. My preference is the standard eGo battery. Two fully charged gets through the whole day though I carry three.

Personally, I can't see the difference in vapor between a 180mHa and a 650mHa battery on a known good Joye atty. Though there may be an electrical difference, there has to be a temperature difference. But the reality comes down to what you experience.

5 volt? That's another story.

Well, I understand that I suppose... Thank you for finally giving me SOMETHING to go on..... the Hello is bigger? I wasn't aware of that, it's pretty small, to me.. You know, it's just this oversized battery that will sit straight up on the table or go into my shirt pocket.. Cool little light on it .. But I've never used an Ego so I didn't know that they were smaller!! I definitely wouldn't call the Hello "huge" ..... It looks alot bigger than it is when you see it online..

How much smaller are they? I'd like to see a Side-By-Side, now I am very curious!!

It seems like it doesn't matter what atomizer comes with the hello kit.. heck the whole "Hello" kit is 35 bucks (I got a real 510 with my hello kit at $35.. bought two kits.. both atomizers work GREAT, so definitely NOT garbage) and good 510 atomizers are 7 bucks.... a KR adapter is 2.50 ..

The only thing I don't know about is getting a cone for a hello
Myself, my sister and my brother in law really like it without one..
But I guess alot of people might prefer that streamlined design??

You're the first person who actually gave me something to help me understand .. I still don't get the mass following .. but what you said about the size makes sense

By the way ...... I think the ego, riva and hello should all vape identically if I understand things right.. It's the voltage that changes the temperature, isn't it?

You are Correct, THE...

You wanna know why people are buying the eGo ? Because it's so hyped up, it's a brand thing, and it was the first one on the market, if anybody actually used the 2 for a couple days they'd realize the Hello016 walks all over the eGo.

I own 2 of them and while i didn't like the attys that came with it, the battery with a 808 cartomizer adapter is just F'ing amazing, and so is using a LR atty.

One day people will learn about it :D hehe

And the size difference is really not that big when you hold it in your hand.. i thought it would be chunkier, but it's only like the width of 2 regular e-cig tubes.

Once Hello starts offering a lr 016 atty I'm sure they will do better. I personally like the 016 atty, but do prefer a lr atty.

I do seem to sense alot of "hype effect".. and I don't have a problem with the size of it, at all, myself. But I guess there are those out there who want it to be just as small as they can get it.

It's funny, though, because I had to make a thread like this to find one person who explained that it was about the size.

I've asked multiple times in several threads and no one has really had much to say about the "why"... No one has told me "Don't get a Hello because..." or "Get the Ego/Riva instead of a Hello, because...."

What's the 016?
That UFO CONE thing grimm got with his hello that doesn't work too well?

I don't understand why it is an issue, really, the hello, riva, ego they're all 510 devices
I don't think the riva or ego are cheaper than the hello
The hello now can be had in a kit with a genuine 510 atomizer
