So the more streamlined shape with the cone really does matter THAT much to people?

It's a shame that there's no cone for the Hello... The Hello with the cone atomizers looks better than any of them..... It's just too bad that the cone atomizers suck :(

When they let us have the 1300mah Riva, I'll definitely buy one so long as the price stays in line with the hello.

EXACTLY
So why are 99 of 100 people still recommending and buying 650mah egos left, right and sideways??

When something better than the Hello comes out I'll jump on it like an inmate fresh out of the joint going after his wife (with either type of g*n) :D

Well, I am not sure if that has been brought up yet, but an eGo battery lasts me all day with the way I use it, and by that I mean 7 AM to 7 PM. Good enough for me. Does not take long to charge. Add to that, the fact that the eGo battery is about the largest I am comfortable carrying around.... if another battery is more powerful and the same size (and does not resemble a billy club) then I am all for it!

Yeah, I'm in the same camp as you MB. All the same reasons.

And of course the main reason the eGo is SO popular is that damn near every supplier carries them.

I'm getting it now..
I finally understand some of the reasons
(Now that they're on the table.. No one told me before!)
I sure don't agree with the reasons, but that's for me and not everyone on earth likes/wants/needs what I do ..

well, my few months of stay here in ECF has taught me that at the end of the day, it all boils down to the fact that each person really has different preference in PVs. You have to consider that Vapor Production, Battery Life, Flavor, Throat Hit, device Maintenance, Grip Feel, and overall Aesthetics each ranks differently for all of us, uniquely :)

Agreed. And I think this thread served its purpose. I kept asking people to elaborate when they kept saying ego ego ego riva riva riva right over posts I make about the Hello .. for no apparent reason .. now I "get" some of the reasons

You know.. I hadn't picked my PV up in a couple of hours.. Didn't want to get out of my chair (LONG LONG HOT HOT DAY) ... But I finally did and this Hello 016, in the palm of my hand, you know this thing is NOT that big AT ALL.

It feels huge when you are used to an ego.

I bought an eGo kit after thinking I wanted a regular 510 (analog look, blah blah blah), based on that puresmoker sale from a while back; the price was right (plus, we had two smokers in the house), and while it definitely didn't have the analog look I thought I wanted, it does have a sightly sleeker style than the hello 016, which looks a little more like a cigar. The ego is a nice compromise for both my husband and I, as well - I mean, gender stereotypes suck, but I'm a chick, and don't necessarily want a big, masculine looking PV, he doesn't want a dainty little girly looking thing.

It's comfortable, the batteries are great, and my husband and I have both quit smoking since buying it - so what's not to recommend, yk?

Homeish now
Got my first eGo before Riva came out, then upgraded to the mega batteries.
Sure someone mentioned that...ego's hit the market way before the knock off's did.
So a lot of folks and companies invested in ego's first.

plus...Riva's do not come in blue, green and red...I like having a variety of colors :D
a Blue eGo is a Damn pretty PV.

A 650 maH battery does NOT have a maximum drain rate of .65 A. Who told you that ?

It will easily put out several amps.

The 650 maH refers to the life of the battery. For example, drawing 650 ma continuously it will last 1 hour. Drawing twice that, or 1.3 A, CONTINUOSLY and it will last 1/2 hour.
Draw 2.6 A continuosly and it will last 15 minutes. Etc.

Each vape is only a few seconds, so it takes a lot of vapes to add up to 15 minutes.

My 650 maH eGo lasts about 12 hours on a 1.5 ohm atty with my vaping habits. And
drawing over 2 amps on each puff.

You'd need to know the 'C' rating to calculate the maximum draw but considering an LR atty pulls twice as much current as regular 510s and I've been running LRs with EGO's for over four months tells me they're fine together. Physical problems with the EGO's hard plastic switch have been my biggest problem.

i hang out on a lot of gun forums and theres always arguments about guns in the same fashion
"why buy a 9mm when you can own a 45"
"because its smaller and lighter and carries more ammo"
"but a 45 isnt much bigger and packs a bigger punch"

not to even mention the m-16 vs ak-47 debate

i myself ordered both a 510 kit for when im out and about and the ego for at home. mostly based on reviews and all. if i find its not for me ill buy something else.well most likley ill be buying many something elses

I have eGo's, 900 mah eGo's, 1000 mah eGo's, Riva's, and the Hello 016. I use LR 510 atties on them. My experience with the differences (and why I tend to favor the eGo / Riva's) is that charging only takes 1 - 1/2 hours for any of the Riva's / Ego's, even the 1000 mah eGo. It takes almost 3 hours for the Hello. Battery life is excellent on all.

Another difference for me is that the vapor seems better and tastes better with the eGo/Riva cones. If I use a 510 on the Hello, I miss the warmth and feel I get from the eGo/Riva. This is why I prefer them. The Hello does produces very well and hits hard, but it's not the same as having that eGo/Riva cone.

I have access to all of these devices but the eGo / Riva is what I'm always reaching for and use. I find that I use the Hello 016 only for cartomizers when I'm driving. I find them excellent for this purpose. This isn't how I planned it, but how my vaping evolved after experiencing the above devices.

I also own and/or have used a ProVape, Bartleby, and laser mod. I still miss the cone when I use those devices. The experience of the eGo / Riva with and LR 510 just feels the best and works the best for me.

I have nothing against the hello, it was just too big. I got the eGo because it fits in my altoids case, runs LR attys perfectly, and I can vape on it all day at work on one battery, and most of the evening. I have an auto dripper for when i'm driving, a usb passthrough for my home computer, and a plug in mod and 18650 mod for my easy chair. It's all about filling a need, and the ego does a nice job.

The cone actually affects the draw quite a bit. It's a more airy draw without it, and the vapor is much cooler. The cone really cuts down on gurgly noises and the sound of air, and the drag is much like pulling on a cigarette.
