I had read about the "burn" flavor some folks were getting with their ego-T set ups, but I had assumed that that was after a week or so of use (sometimes more it sounds like.)

I received my Joye eGo-T last Friday, following the instructions putting it together, primed the wick, loaded it up (75%PG - 25% VG sorta dark juice, but not Guinness by any means.)

I made sure to blow out the atty and the end of the day, but despite that, within two days I was getting the dreaded burning flavor/smell.

So I tried the second atty, and that lasted for about two days as well before it started tasting like sucking on the tail pipe of a bus.

I followed the video that walks through taking the wick/wick plate out. The was a little bit of burnt on crud from the juce, but not very much. A lighter to the wick burned that off. Then I dry burned the atty to burn the gunk off the coil (being careful not to over do it.) Rinsed off the ash. Let the atty dry for a 24 hours, put everything back together...and...no joy *pout*

I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong, but if I'm doing things RIGHT, and this tank system takes this much maintenance after only a few days use this just isn't going to work.

I'm currently back on my GreenSmartLiving e-cigs, and they're keeping me sane until I can figure something. Might ditch the tank and try the cartomizers. I dunno.

Anyone else have problems with the eGo-T system atomizers that quickly?

Yes I did.

I came to the conclusion that it might be the way I vape. I think tanks are meant for people that take very light occasional hits so that it wicks properly. I'd get two or three good hits and then that horrible, obnoxious bunt plastic vape.

I second getting something else like boge 2.0 or smoktek 1.7 cartomizers. Save the tanks to test juice.

I still use my eGo tanks sometimes, mostly when I go the bar or want to vape an oddball flavor that I don't want dedicate a carto to and don't want to drip. I use boge 2.0 cartos most of the time but I also have some EMDCC and Echo-E.

The "T" atty can get clogged burned and nasty VERY quickly if you're using a dark juice or one that caramelizes very easily. You'll need to either get used to cleaning them frequently (with practice it only takes a couple minutes) or look into cartomizers.

How long has he had it? I always hear people posting about how wonderful they are and they've usually had them a week.

Even if you don't have a problem, there's a bunch of fiddling and flavor is definitely muted. I don't think they're horrible but I don't think they are a good first pv to start out with. Like the clearomizers- they aren't newbie friendly. Yet it seems like all new people get roped into tanks. I'm trying to figure out why.

I started on an ego-c with a tank system about 12 days ago and have already moved on. I picked up some of these and some of these and could not be more happy with them. The big one's I only need to fill once a day! again I am still quite a noob so there may be better out there but these seem to work good for me. with my tank system I spent all my time cleaning and adjusting trying to get a more consistent vape but never found it.

I had an Ego T also.
I didn't have many problem if any minor ones that I fixed.
At first I fryed a few atty's before I asked around also.
One person said like others the liqud had to much sediment to thick. I was running 50/50.
I cleaned tha atty like every other tank.
I moved on to a Tornado VV
I thought about Clearo's or Tanks I'm not sure what I'll do but.
Ego isn't a total waste.I still have mine & use it sometimes..

I have a eGo t mega type B. Holds about 2 mil juice. I must be one of the lucky ones or I like a challenge. Though I don't have any real problems with it, so not really any challenge to it.. Matter of fact I love the eGo t mega. Granted I am only on week 3 of using it, yet I don't foresee changing from it any time soon.

Ok granted, it's not the fastest re-wicking device if I am constantly hitting off it, but if I wait 5 or 10seconds between hits there is usually no problems. In the almost 3 weeks I have used it, I am only on my second atomizer for it. First one lasted over a week, and after taking it apart and cleaning it, I tested it and could probably get another week from it.

If you don't clean out the atomizer before first use, the juice they have in it when shipped does taste bad and burnt. I'll tack a tissue and stuff it in the atty and clean out the shipping juice. Take a drop or 2 and put it right in the wick stem and let it soak in a couple of minutes.

The tank I take the hard cap off and toss it and replace it with the soft cap. I pre punch the hole in the cap before filling the tank and take the donuthole out with tweezers.
Then put the tank in to the atty with just a little force to make sure it's all the way down on first use.

A little trick I learned is if it still taste burnt, take and pull the tank out a little so it comes of the wick post and then quickly push it back in. This will force juice in to the wick post and though the wick. If after using it I start getting the burnt taste again, I just do that little trick again.

I have had no problems with the tanks leaking. There is after a while a small build up of juice on the wick post and some juice on the side of the tank thats inside the atty, but by no means have I had any leakage at all.

I know I'm a newbie to all this and I don't have much experience to help others, But I'm just trying to show that not everyone dislike these tank and atty system.

From reading what needs to be done with cartos and others systems, like condom method or using syringes to fill, and having to make sure the juice is saturated in them, and a the tips and tricks for all these different PV's I see no difference in the little things that need to be done with this Mega B tank system.

But again I'm just new to this too and just trying to pass on what I have learned in my short time of vaping.

My first PV was an Ego-T Mega. I did experience some leaking and e-juice in the mouthpiece which greatly diminished when using the silicone tank caps. I also used a 50/50 e-juice mix which, as I was later told by a long-time vaper, is a bit thick. He suggested a 80/20 mix. Still use the ego-t when visiting the local pub due to its large e-juice capacity. I soak the atomizer in vodka about an hour, blow it out, and let it dry overnight. My original atomizers are still going strong. All-in-all, I'm satisfied with the ego-t in spite of its few quirks.

My latest purchase was a KGO - a very sweet PV with a huge battery and enough voltage to run the low resistance carts like my favorite - the Resurrector from Crystal Clear Vaping (CCV). I'm waiting for my first dual coil cartos to arrive from CCV. If you don't need a tank, get yourself a KGO and enjoy problem free vaping.

Hmm...maybe I'll try soaking them in rubbing alcohol and see if I can bring them back.

Something I noticed about the tanks I received that seemed different from other described. The tanks had a soft cap on top of them, but it with that cap on it was too big to fit in the atomizer, so I'm guessing it's just to keep it clean inside.) I popped it off, and under it was the top of the tank (which looked just like the tutorials) only it wasn't sealed. There was already a hole there (which was just big enough for the tip of the e-juice bottle to fit in to fill it up.) All 5 that I ordered were like that.

Is that weird? Or are they supposed to be like that?

At any rate, I think I'm going to try those clearomizers and see how that goes.

Thank you again for all the help!!

I would try cartomizers first. Clearomizers aren't without their own problems and sometimes need to be modded. Try some problem free vaping for awhile.

If you need to clean atty's, I would suggest that you don't use any alcohol, especially standard rubbing alcohol. Heated distilled water is the best, some people like to add baking soda to the water.

Greetings, 3 weeks into vaping with an ego t and I must admit things are changing quick. My first week was pure heaven with my vaping experience and the ego t was responsible for dropping a pack and a half a day habit. It was awsome! Second week I expiermented with boge cartomizers and had great success. I bounced from tank to carto and loved the differences. Third week, not enjoying hardware very much. Tanks are very inconsistant and cartos seem to burn ok at best. Whats next?
