Hi folks! Thank you again for all the advice!

I think I might a breakthrough (and a shout out needs to go to swedishfish for the idea!)

After going through multiple rigorous cleaning methods (including alcohol...oops...) the issue seems to be coming down to the "Suck Scale"

So on a scale from 1 to 10, I probably draw about a 7 or 8 on an analog. For giggles I put my eGo-T back together last night (after the atomizers sat airing out for a day or so near the heater vent) and started experimenting with how much force I use when I take a drag. The lighter I pulled, the less burn flavor I got. If I pulled too hard...bus exhaust.

Now what I have to do is prime the atty a little before each puff. This seems to work, but I'm still not getting the same experience I did when I first got the silly thing. I'm wondering if I need to tweak the wick some more.

At any rate, it should hold me over until I can get some cartos to play with.

Hmm...maybe I'll try soaking them in rubbing alcohol and see if I can bring them back.

Something I noticed about the tanks I received that seemed different from other described. The tanks had a soft cap on top of them, but it with that cap on it was too big to fit in the atomizer, so I'm guessing it's just to keep it clean inside.) I popped it off, and under it was the top of the tank (which looked just like the tutorials) only it wasn't sealed. There was already a hole there (which was just big enough for the tip of the e-juice bottle to fit in to fill it up.) All 5 that I ordered were like that.

Is that weird? Or are they supposed to be like that?

At any rate, I think I'm going to try those clearomizers and see how that goes.

Thank you again for all the help!!

The top of the tank has a cap that can be removed for cleaning and filling. The hole in the cap is a "newer" version. Older versions were solid and the point in the atty would penetrate the hole the first time the tank was used. Problem was, it left a chard of plastic that lead to leakage. Imagine that, a tank leaking! The large cap is just to cover the tank until it is used.

I too have had problems with Ego-T attys. I went to cartos and I also purchased all the stuff to convert to the Ego-C system. All in all, I like the tanks but I will eventually go to a mod.

i love the tank system..only dont like the mouth piece of the cartridge for the eGo -T..but the smaller 510-T's cartridge set up is great(only holds 1/2 ml or the larger 3/4 ml)..most of the users who like the tank system know how to correctly & properly fit the "cartridge and atomizer"..it is a better vapor production & throat hits than cartomizer..i explained to Spy-64 who has the same problem as U..and how to set up the correct way in tank system..this is the link,i replied to Spy_64 http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-i-think-i-have-wick-issue-please-help-2.html ..regards mafig

Picked up my tanks to try this and so far it works! just make sure the vent sides of tank are on top of the little vents on either side of spike on atty and BAM no burnt atty taste hope it keeps on working. I had all but given up on my tanks and had been using cart's for a few days. If this keeps working I may just start filling up a couple tanks once in a while.....

I bought my first Ego a little over a year ago and only used it for about 2 or 3 weeks and then went right back to analogs. About two months ago I read on here about the new ego-T so I ran out and bought some tanks and atty's. I loved it for about two weeks and then it just wasn't cutting it for me anymore. So I then bought some Boge 2.0 Cartos. I loved them for about two weeks and then they just weren't cutting it anymore. So I read and read and read on here and finally decided to buy a Reo Mini. I just got it today and popped one of my Boge 2.0's on it with the first bottle of Boba's Bounty that I also received today and all I can say is wow! I don't understand how the difference is so huge between the ego battery and the Reo but it is. Loads of vapor.

I should be getting my Cisco 306 tomorrow in the mail and I can't wait to try it. I certainly hope this doesn't lose it's appeal after just a couple of weeks like everything else has.

I've been on the ego-T for just over a week (although fighting with it severely for the last few days. Thank goodness I had my analog-ish e-cigs to fall back on.) I was expecting some tweakage, but yikes. lol!

I'll have to look into the Reo. I've heard good things about it. Not for a while though...still need to financially recover from the ego-T. lol!

I would try cartomizers first. Clearomizers aren't without their own problems and sometimes need to be modded. Try some problem free vaping for awhile.

Try the CE2 Ultimates at MyVaporStore, the modding is simple and the things won't leak for anything. Crack proof tubes, good wicks, and 2.4ohms, these things are heaven compared to the originals and the CE3's (and many other "similar" styles). Try these before you pass judgement on all Clearomizers because ALL of the major problems with the originals are gone with these. The minor problem I had come up once in a while, you need to move the inner rubber ring up about 1/8in higher, then it's back to great flavor, vapor, and TH.

Rid yourself of the tanks, they suck. Get you some good quality CE2's, Boge cartos, or the GotVapes PumpCarts and become a happy vaper with your current batteries. There is no need to buy a whole new kit when you still have some options to make your current one better.

Etrnldrk - The Boge 2.0 cartos are already on their way! :toast:I ordered them two days ago since I was having so much trouble with the tank. I'll have to check out the PumpCarts! Thanks for the advice! (damn I love this group!)

If you like dripping, the PumpCarts are the way to go. Easier than dripping and just as much vapor and flavor.

hmmmmm ... I have a few Ego T's, had them for several months and no problems like you are describing ...

Sounds like a wicking issue, and you have already stated that you did some wick repair, so perhaps your juice is not feeding properly from the Tank itself?? ... what is the VG % of your juice??

Also try direct dripping to see if you still get a burnt taste ... if you do, then the problem is the atty for sure, if not then it's prolly the Tanks not feeding the juice well.

I'm not passing judgement. I have clearomizers and don't mind them. But tell that to all the people that posted in the "Worst product of 2011" because they won, followed by tanks.

For a brand new, never vaped before person, there is some modding involved. They aren't for someone new to vaping. Neither are tanks IMO.

Yeah, the original crystal clear clearos were terrible with hairline cracks fresh out of the package. But the Ultimates eliminated a majority of problems, mainly the cracking and leaking. The only mod I have done to mine was moving the cap that was just above the wicks up about 1/8 of an inch, making a nice black rubber stack of the lower rubber cap and the washer and a driptip/standard cap. Pretty easy with just a paperclip. Fluffing the wicks really doesn't make a difference now, and was mainly reserved for the terrible wicks of the first revisions. However, noobs will have to learn to clean them anyway if they want to keep using them, and this "modding" process will help with that.

I'm just putting this one out there as my favorite carto since the modding is easy and they are damn reliable now.

Tanks are another story.... Too bad, they are a really cool but poorly executed concept.
