Congrats on being 2 days analog free!!

It's really difficult to say how long an atomizer will last. I had some ego-T's last a week or two. I still have a couple the atomizers that came with my first kit that still work. I just use them to test juice though.

There is an answer regarding batteries, but I don't know it! LOL Batteries have a certain amount of cycles. You can prolong the life of your battery by keeping the battery and charger clean and not waiting until the battery is dead before charging it. I wipe the inside of my battery with a q-tip before putting it on the charger and occasionally cleaning the charger with iso alcohol.

Sorry, not too helpful. Just wanted to welcome you to the forum!

In my owners manual it has a warranty on the batteries for 6 months and attys for 3 months. I have bought several different atomizers havent had one go bad and been vaping for 4 months. Great to hear on not smoking, its surprising how easy it is to change over isnt it? I would recommend buying a passthrough battery to have an extra and one that you can vape while its charging so you dont find yourself out of battery. I have the ego atomizes and some 510 for dripping, cartomizers and been vaping through a giantomizer the past few days. I have found so far that dripping you get the best flavor out of. Its always best to have a extra battery and a few extra atomizers on hand, especially if you dont have a local shop to buy from. Keep on vaping

Thank you so much---and your answer *was* quite helpful! Thank you as well for words of support/congratulations--I've been smoking for almost 20 years/pack a day and I've never gone this long without a cig, so am enthralled with the electronic cigarette--who knew it could be this painless?

Anyways, I had no idea that the Ego-T atomizers had such a short shelf life--will definitely have to stock up.

Here's another newbie question: how do you know when it is time to replace the atomizer?

Welcome and 30 hours is a great start, before long you wont remember it will be months. You will know when your atomizers need to be replaced when the draw isnt as easy and I have heard that some just die and will not produce a vapor. Have you listen to it sizzle when you press your button, it wont sizzle anymore lol. Pretty soon you will realize that smoking was just boring compared to vaping. You will get to vape tons of different flavors.

I just went online and bought an extra Ego-T atomizer & new flavors of e-juice...I want to keep my momentum going! Beashay, what are your favorite flavors of juice?

Thank you Tull for posting that link to the video of how to clean attys, but it looks wayyy too complicated for me. If they last 3 months, I don't mind buying new ones as needed. And considering that 1 atty=cost of 2 or so packs of cigs, it's really quite a deal!

I bought a 510 starter kit a while ago and have been using it off an on ... but my wife and I have just quit analog (again) and are using our joye 510s full time... we found huge flaws with these (mostly battery life) so we ordered the eGo-T 1000mah.

What are your first impressions of the eGo-t? Easy to use and good to carry around with you? How long does your tank last?

Thanks

Ohhhhh! My turn!

My first PV was an eGo-T. Bought it back in..June? Right around father's day weekend. I still have it, but it's been retired to be my DIY Liquid-Tasting-Device. I used it heavily until September, when I purchased my first 3.7v mod. Never lost an atty. I did buy a few LR attys in that time, to switch to them though.

A month after I started, my girlfriend's father had me get him an eGo-T kit, and he's been using it (rotating 2-3 attys) since then. So far, he's lost 1 atty. So, 4-5 months? Batteries are still going, but the charge-duration is starting to fade a bit. They die quicker now.

Welcome to the forums.

My favorite this week lol is ecblends nuclear fireball xf, it is pretty strong in cinnamon and has a orangy hint and pretty sweet. I switch that up with ivapes truly cola, Im constantly trying new things and when i first started vaping and still smoking occasionally after that last cigarette if I had the urge to smoke I would just vape a tobacco flavor and that would satisfy my craving and then I would be back to none tobacco flavors. I like a variety to have on hand, that way it never gets boring. I use to be a mentol smoker and occasionally I will vape some menthol just because I like it not because Im craving it. Get ready to say goodbye to cigarettes because they will start tasting and smelling nasty to you. It great being able to get into your car and crank on the air/heat and not get that stale smoke smell. This chick does not miss cigarettes at all and I know alot of people that are having easy success with the changing over. You need to grab you a 510 atomizer and a drip tip next order dont forget a cone to fit over your atomizer. You get alot more flavor than you do in the tank, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Xaiver - it was interesting reading your post about the passthroughs as I have been wondering what is going on with mine. Have had my kit for only a little over two weeks (loving it by the way) but am finding that it is already taking long to charge them up and they don't seem to hold a good charge as long. Am thinking of getting one of the 1000 mah batteries. Also wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that I have one of those gizmos that enables you to have lots of usb connections from one source. It's one of those things that you plug into your USB port but then it has like eight secondary ports to plug in to. While I only use it for my Ego T charging, am going to try charging one directly from the AC adapter tomorrow and see if that makes any difference. I believe I have heard that these USB connector things do not provide the same power. Anyway, nice to see other new members here as well. There is always something to learn!

I too have the ego-t (type B). I have been vaping for only about 2 months. About 1 month in (although all original parts were still working), I ordered a second starter kit to have extra batteries and atomizers. Thus far I have had 1 atomizer die. I have one charger in the house, and another in the car

As described earlier, i clean my battery with a q-tip before charging. I also try and charge the batteries before they run out, although I am not always successful at getting to the charger. I keep a small batch of q-tips with me in the car console, as well as a small dish towel just in case of spill/leak while I am out or at work and always carry at least one extra battery and atomizer with me

Its hard to say how long an atomizer will last bc it depends on a few different factors. Some juices clog cartos/attys faster so that will shorten the life. I find that juices that contain flavor sediments will kill an atty/carto faster than anything. Many attys also get killed bc of user error, so that obviously shortens their life. If you keep them wet and take care of them you should be able to use them for at least a month. I only use attys tho to test juices. Cartos are much more consistant. I get on avg 2-3 weeks out of one Ressurector carto so a 5-pack lasts me over 2 months. So for under $8, its well worth it.

As far as batteries, their life also depends on different things. Most proprietary batteries will last between 250-350 charge cycles. Using low ohm attys/cartos on an eGo will stress the mosfet and battery so that could potentially shorten their life. If your going to use LRs on an eGo, I wouldnt use anything under 2.0ohms. Also, like some other people said, not letting you batteries drain all the way will help make them last longer. Try to charge the battery when it gets to about 25% left. That will help make them last longer. Non-proprietary batteries will last alot longer before they need to be replaced. If used correctly and taken care of, some non-proprietary batteries will last 1000+ charge cycles. Thats one of the reasons that I went with the E-Power over the kGo. Also non-proprietart batteries are cheaper. E-Power batts cost $4 compared to eGo/Riva/kGo batteries that are $14-20
