Hello Acacia, and welcome to ECF.
I'll echo what some others have said, and add a few thoughts. For many vapers, eGo stuff is never a bad choice because even if you end up at large VV mods as your "ultimate" vape, there are still circumstances in which the eGo form factor is useful. Your vaping habits may wind up being very different from mine, but personally, i find eGos to be indispensible, for one simple reason. I have come to realize that I'll never be an "all day vape"-type of vaper when it comes to juice flavors, I'm usually not satisfied without having at least 3 flavors going at any given time. So when I'm out and about, or at work especially, 3 eGos are with me, each loaded up with a diff juice. Using a complex series of mathematical equations, i've arrived at the following data point: 3 times the amount of eGo batteries = 3 times the total amount of vaping time

. Expressed in a practical example: 650 mah x 3 = 1950 mah, or about the same total vaping time of of my 18500-based APV. Works for me! Sorry to bowl you over with such heavy math, heh. But anyways, my big batt/VV mods are much loved, but they don't often leave the house with me these days. Three 18650 mods would be a bit...uncomfortable in a shirt pocket, three eGos are manageable.
There is a degree of compromise in this system, as sometimes higher voltage/wattage is unquestionably a superior vape, but i get a vape which is more than adequate and satisfying using Boge 2-ohms, and/or Kanger HCs on the eGos (Smoktech 1.7s and DCCs work as well, but i find the Boges/Kangers to be more to my personal liking, and the DCCs to be not worth the extra expense and decreased battery life for this application though i do use them in others). [I have an eGo booster also, but tbh, i've been happy enough without it in the mix, as it does add a good bit of length, and also it's a bit too pricey to risk losing/damaging...but then again, now that the Joye Twist is shipping, VV has become a bit more feasible in my "system"...that's mighty nice! Ahh, tis a good time to be a vaper!]
By all means, try out the Stardust aka CE4+ too. They work great in the above-described scenario too, and some juices taste better in them than anything else i've tried.
As for the eGo C...eh, they have their fans, but i'm not numbered amongst them...i tried them out of curiosity, and now the tanks/attys are collecting dust... I only used 2 of the 5 attys in my kit, 3 are still new...crappy flavor, leaks, dry hits and on top of all that, a pita to fill, imho.
Two things i'd recommend strongly: a syringe for filling cartos (i can't imagine not having one, life would be miserable for me) and an eGo USB battery. The USB batt will enable you to vape while it's charging, which is awesome...but it also will be a lifesaver if you ever find yourself with all your batteries discharged. Also, if you use it whenever "wired" vaping is possible/practical, it will increase the lifespan of your other batteries considerably...so much so that it will pay for itself.
Lastly, a few words about batteries/charging. Li-ion batts (which eGos are) are worthy of some respect due to their chemistry, strongly suggest reading up on them, if you haven't. They have the capacity to catch fire and/or explode under some circumstances. Best not to charge them unattended, or leave them on charge while sleeping...and know that not all eGo batts are compatible with all eGo chargers...very important! There are threads here which detail what happens when a batt is charged on the wrong charger, and...it ain't pretty. Best bet is to get a charging bag (Li-po sack), some vendors carry them, or easy to find online...very inexpensive. Some people call charging bags overkill, but to my way of thinking they just make sense. Overall, such incidents are VERY rare...but "rare" just means they WILL happen to someone...why take any chances?
Hrrm, well...i intended to write a brief post, heh...so much for that. Have fun, and i wish you the best of luck in finding your perfect vape
