ego-T vs ego whatever

Ahhhh so many choices! 33 days analog free tyvm! And as predicted by so many of the people on this forum I'm looking at new equipment. I already own my greensmoke (still loving it after a month!) but I was kinda looking at tanks. So much to choose from though so I'm a little overwhelmed.

I just am looking for more ease of refilling, and I'm guessing you get better flavor from tanks. Right now I'm staring at a shopping cart with a Joye EgoT type B starter kit and am trying to figure out if that's a good place for me to really start. It seems like most of the Ego stuff is interchangeable, but again, super new to this and just trying to make it all make sense.

Thanks for input in advance :)

The eGo is not a bad place to start (or step up.) The eGo stuff is interchangeable and you could even use the eGo-C atomizer system with a T batt and vice versa. You also have an option of a KGO wich is pretty darn similar, except, the batteries are 3.7v and 1100mah where as the eGo is about 3.4v and 650, 900 or 1000mah. The KGO batts even have the outer "eGo" threading to which you can throw on a stardust clearomizer. They all do have 510 threading for cartos and attys. You can find a KGO kit for about $43 and, for most, will work better.

Yes eGo stuff is interchangeable. I started with eGo-T too, but now prefer the Vision Stardust. Look here is a starter kit with them for only $43.50 during the sale (until 15th). They come in different colors too.

This is what I would get if you want to have a great assortment of Joyetech stuff. I have great admiration for Joyetech eGo-class gear, and I have a very warm spot in my heart for their tanks and batteries. I have a lot of stuff, including a VV VMax, and I still love and use my eGo battery. I'll be using the tanks as soon as I get some of my stuff back that I have loaned out all over the place to friends of mine who are quitting smoking.

Do not get the -T, get the -C. Here's the list, including stuff you need (marked @), and stuff that is optional but very nice indeed to have. (marked *).

@ Joyetech eGo-C starter kit, 650mah or 1000mah, depending on the size/capacity you like best.
* Extra 5-pack of atomizer heads in a different resistance from the ones in the kit
* Joyetech 100mah eGo passthrough battery, 1000mah
* Joyetech Twist variable voltage battery (3.2 - 4.8 volts), 650 or 1000mah
* Smoktech DCT 3.5 ml tank or tanks. One for each flavor is ideal.
* Single coil 1.5 - 2.0 ohm stainless steel XL cartomizers to go in the tanks

If you get all of that, you will be vaping like a champ.

Slot the cartos per PBusardo's YouTube video if they are not pre-punched, and sometimes slot them even if they are. Try them as-is first if they are punched.

Consider the "B"-style/size tanks. The "A" tanks/attys are fine, some people prefer to bigger "B" tanks.

Just get some of the Smoktech tanks, and as much of the Joyetech stuff as you can. Don't spend time right now trying to figure everything out. You can not go wrong with ANY of this stuff, and you will not be kicking yourself for buying ANY of it.

Just for kicks, watch a YouTube video of the "Bulli" atomizer that is made for Joyetech tanks.

And sure, get a Stardust/Vision tank just to see what they're like. You can't go far wrong with it or the DCT tanks.

Most important thing: do something.

Buying the "very good" is better than searching for the non-existent "perfect".

Hi Acacia74 and welcome to ECF.

I too would suggest the Joye Ego. If you will be content with the 1 ml tanks I would go with the Ego C as it is an improvement over the A and B in terms of less flooding or dry hit issues. A friend of mine who has been Vaping about 2 months got the Ego C kit and was happy with the tanks until he started to get dry hits just about every hit. I discovered that upon filling you have to make sure you see air bubbles rise indicating the vacuum seal has been broken and the juice is going to the wick. While he was having the issue he was introduced to the Ego Elegance Clearomizer Vision (same as Stardust) and is very pleased with the ease of fill and amount of juice it holds. So if you think you would like to try the Ego A Tanks (same for C but B tank does not fit C cone) go ahead and get the Ego C. If you think you will be happy with the Ego Elegance just get the Ego T (battery does not have to have Ego tank on it but has 5 click shut off so you can throw it in your pocket and it won't accidentally fire) and some Ego Elegance Visions.

Ecig Express carries the Ego Elegance Vision

Ahhhh ran into an issue! The company I'm looking at ordering the Stardust from has two options, low and standard resistance? What does that mean? The kit I'm getting has the 650 batteries in it.. The way I vape I'm not too worried about battery life.. (My Greensmoke battery lasts me all day without recharging, which from what I've gathered on these forums is pretty unheard of ;) )

Welcome to the forums! I cannot rightly help with this issue as it's new I am myself (and am yet to buy my first PV), but the whole LR vs. Standard brought up a very important question from me, if I may:

When you mention throat hit, I assume that means how much burn there is in the back of the throat? It's hookah I normally enjoy, and, there is precious little burn, if any at all. It is a smooth, cool smoke.

That being stated, would a higher resistance be a better option? Is my thinking correct, or do I have it a bit mixed up?

I have 1100mah and use LR Star Dusts (simplicity itself), however, if you are using 650mah batteries then I would recommend using the SR since they will give better battery life. They will be a little lighter on the vapor and flavor.

The Joye eGo Twist is coming out as well (about $25) and they would be a good choice (in 1000mah) as they would allow you to try various voltages and also enough battery to handle LR.

Relax! Enjoy!

Not a burn, just that 'hit' at the back of the throat, like the analog smoking thing. Since you are new to vaping, I would suggest getting one in each resistance to see what works for you. Just keep track of it from the beginning, like with a small mark with indelible ink or something to remember what it is. I for one have a drawer full of cartomizers that I have no idea what they are or what resistance. Now I have a little notebook in my kit drawer and keep notes of new incoming stuff. Live and learn :).

I went and ordered different colors for the different resistances.. I'll be heading that one off at the pass!

Hello Acacia, and welcome to ECF.

I'll echo what some others have said, and add a few thoughts. For many vapers, eGo stuff is never a bad choice because even if you end up at large VV mods as your "ultimate" vape, there are still circumstances in which the eGo form factor is useful. Your vaping habits may wind up being very different from mine, but personally, i find eGos to be indispensible, for one simple reason. I have come to realize that I'll never be an "all day vape"-type of vaper when it comes to juice flavors, I'm usually not satisfied without having at least 3 flavors going at any given time. So when I'm out and about, or at work especially, 3 eGos are with me, each loaded up with a diff juice. Using a complex series of mathematical equations, i've arrived at the following data point: 3 times the amount of eGo batteries = 3 times the total amount of vaping time :D. Expressed in a practical example: 650 mah x 3 = 1950 mah, or about the same total vaping time of of my 18500-based APV. Works for me! Sorry to bowl you over with such heavy math, heh. But anyways, my big batt/VV mods are much loved, but they don't often leave the house with me these days. Three 18650 mods would be a bit...uncomfortable in a shirt pocket, three eGos are manageable.

There is a degree of compromise in this system, as sometimes higher voltage/wattage is unquestionably a superior vape, but i get a vape which is more than adequate and satisfying using Boge 2-ohms, and/or Kanger HCs on the eGos (Smoktech 1.7s and DCCs work as well, but i find the Boges/Kangers to be more to my personal liking, and the DCCs to be not worth the extra expense and decreased battery life for this application though i do use them in others). [I have an eGo booster also, but tbh, i've been happy enough without it in the mix, as it does add a good bit of length, and also it's a bit too pricey to risk losing/damaging...but then again, now that the Joye Twist is shipping, VV has become a bit more feasible in my "system"...that's mighty nice! Ahh, tis a good time to be a vaper!]

By all means, try out the Stardust aka CE4+ too. They work great in the above-described scenario too, and some juices taste better in them than anything else i've tried.

As for the eGo C...eh, they have their fans, but i'm not numbered amongst them...i tried them out of curiosity, and now the tanks/attys are collecting dust... I only used 2 of the 5 attys in my kit, 3 are still new...crappy flavor, leaks, dry hits and on top of all that, a pita to fill, imho.

Two things i'd recommend strongly: a syringe for filling cartos (i can't imagine not having one, life would be miserable for me) and an eGo USB battery. The USB batt will enable you to vape while it's charging, which is awesome...but it also will be a lifesaver if you ever find yourself with all your batteries discharged. Also, if you use it whenever "wired" vaping is possible/practical, it will increase the lifespan of your other batteries considerably...so much so that it will pay for itself.

Lastly, a few words about batteries/charging. Li-ion batts (which eGos are) are worthy of some respect due to their chemistry, strongly suggest reading up on them, if you haven't. They have the capacity to catch fire and/or explode under some circumstances. Best not to charge them unattended, or leave them on charge while sleeping...and know that not all eGo batts are compatible with all eGo chargers...very important! There are threads here which detail what happens when a batt is charged on the wrong charger, and...it ain't pretty. Best bet is to get a charging bag (Li-po sack), some vendors carry them, or easy to find online...very inexpensive. Some people call charging bags overkill, but to my way of thinking they just make sense. Overall, such incidents are VERY rare...but "rare" just means they WILL happen to someone...why take any chances?

Hrrm, well...i intended to write a brief post, heh...so much for that. Have fun, and i wish you the best of luck in finding your perfect vape

Ahhhh Math when I've been up since 2am is not fun.. But I do get the gist of what you're saying.. I find myself also trading out my flavors of cartos really frequently throughout the day so I was thinking with the vision tanks I'll be able to keep doing that :) I have to admit I'm really not someone who's going to be playing around with crossing the streams so to speak. eGo with eGo only stuff and whatnot is the only way I'll ever go.. I just can't see myself getting obsessed with too many mods or anything like that. That said, I do have a syringe on order and will try out the stuff that came with the kit.. Though from what I can tell I'll probably just be obsessed with the Stardust tanks and use them.. Plus they're pretty colors.. And really.. Who can go wrong with pretty colors?
