Ahhhh Math when I've been up since 2am is not fun.. But I do get the gist of what you're saying.. I find myself also trading out my flavors of cartos really frequently throughout the day so I was thinking with the vision tanks I'll be able to keep doing that :) I have to admit I'm really not someone who's going to be playing around with crossing the streams so to speak. eGo with eGo only stuff and whatnot is the only way I'll ever go.. I just can't see myself getting obsessed with too many mods or anything like that. That said, I do have a syringe on order and will try out the stuff that came with the kit.. Though from what I can tell I'll probably just be obsessed with the Stardust tanks and use them.. Plus they're pretty colors.. And really.. Who can go wrong with pretty colors?

Yes the Stardusts are indeed a lot of fun, and the vape they put out is dense deliciousness. They don't always lend themselves to flavor switching so much though, because they can tend to hang on to previous flavors pretty tenaciously. You may find it necessary to stay within similar types of flavors in any particular unit. If you eventually find yourself with a lot of different juices to try, cartos are nice in that you can dedicate one to each flavor, since you can buy 4-5 of them for the same price as 1 Stardust.

To expand a bit on the batt/charger thing: the term "eGo" refers to a form factor only...there is no standard amongst different products labeled eGo...and so, you could conceivably end up with batteries/chargers, all labeled as eGo which are not compatible. Best to only ever charge batts on the specific charger that came with them unless you're absolutely certain the specs are identical. Some "eGo" chargers output 4.2v, and some put out 4.5, for example...and putting a batt that needs 4.2 onto a 4.5 charger may very possibly (it has happened) cause the batt to overcharge, and explode violently, then burn. The thing is, it really does "look" like eGo is an actual standard adhered to by the different manufacturers...but that isn't the case...it's actually just that they closely copy each other :D! Incidentally, for the same reasons, one should never assume that threading is a guarantee of compatibility...it is not. Again, there's no standard in play here, though one might assume there would be, and just because the threads fit, doesn't mean it's compatible.
Apologies if it seems I'm hammering away at the point, I just would never want someone to get hurt because I didn't express the risk adequately.

Acacia, I agree 100%. I love color - can't get enough! By the way you can get the colored screw in tips for the Stardust here. I ordered in each color and now wating impatiently.

I took this pic for you :D.

omg.. Pretties! Seriously that is a pretty amazing assortment you have there! I think my husband would kill me.. ;)
And no.. I completely understand watching what batteries you're using with which chargers. Believe me when I say I don't want to end up on the news because I burned down my house or something :)
Nah... all cheap stuff there! I buy all my eGo stuff, and all cartomizers etc. from Health Cabin (super reasonable and probably cheapest on the net), the box mods cost $17 for the two bigger ones and $8 for the smaller one, the Madvapes RoughStack (small red one) and Acrylic Tube Mod (tall brownish) were $45. The VModXL bottom feeder (pink zebra) about $80 and the Totally Wicked Screwdriver (in the front) is so old I can't exactly remember the price.

Yes, take care of your batteries and charger!

No offense, but you'll excuse me if I chuckle a little bit? I think I'll start a poll. How many of us thought the exact same thing early on in this vaping journey, yet ended up with PVs with 3 or 4 or more different labels? Heck, I wish I had a nickel for every 510/eGo adapter sold to people who had an eGo as their first big battery PV.

Seriously though. As good as much of the eGo line is, they are what they are and no more. They fill a specific niche that almost everyone eventually feels the need to break free of. It's probably a good idea not to erect artificial barriers for yourself and become too invested in one company's products. They have their mediocre stuff, just like the rest.

I think I had the same question…sutra

Hello All,
I’m new to this vaping but happy to say Im going on 3 weeks of no smoking. I absolutely could not of done it with out vaping. I started with a blu from the drug store .It was ok not much vaper but I liked the drag. I moved up to a Volt starter kit .It has good vapor but I don’t like the drag and the sound of sucking in air. I need more drag. If that makes sense. Oh and the battery life is short. It does keep me off the cigarettes so I know I should be happy and I am but…I would like something with good vapor and a good drag….Is that possible? This is all at bet over whelming. Would love any advice.

Thanks,
Dottymay

P.s But after reading all this I’m really confused:glare:

Where would I find drip tips to fit the EMDCC?
Yes MadVapes. I think they have them in black and silver! Maybe others too, but I can't see them. Health Cabin has them in all colors And that is where I bought mine :).
Thy are actually originally for the eGo-T.

Actually I was mostly just referring to crossing the streams by trying to use the wrong equipment to charge batteries and such.. I guess I just worded the sentence wrong there :) I'm still on the fence if I'm vaping to quit smoking and quit vaping or if I'm just becoming a straight vaper ;) At this time I can't see myself becoming too obsessed with mods and whatnot but I'm never saying never.. I can totally see how this can get out of control and I really have to watch myself. I already have a hobby that takes up huge amounts of space in the house (I taught myself crochet last year.. I can stop buying yarn anytime I want.. Yah...) so my husband may kill me if I get too crazy.. I'm kinda starting things with the eGo as my first step away from the 808D2 I've been using because it seems the easiest to understand and the easiest to find supplies, batteries and goodies for. I still love my 808 but I find filling carto's all the time a bit tedious.. And buying them pre-filled isn't really a money savings at all.

beautiful collection!! Did you decorate the box mods yourself or did they come like that? I'd really like some pretty things like this but can't seem to find any

"Break free of" is not how I would put it. I have a Smoktech VMax, (5 volt) Woo, and (14650/3.7 volt) e-Power, and Joyetech eGo 650 and 1000mah and now Joyetech eGo Twist 650 and 1000 mah batteries. Right now I happen to be vaping on one of the 650mah Twist batteries with a Smoktech DCT tank fitted with a Boge 3.0 ohm single coil carto. Very pocketable, great performance, looks good too.

Why I would delete the Twist from my arsenal of PV's I have no idea.

Get a couple of Twists, a few DCT tanks, and some 2.0 ohm single coil cartomizers. That setup will give you a very good idea of what variable voltage is all about, and will serve you very well even after/if you move on to a more advanced device.

Boge Mix n Match (5 Boxes) .92 each

I have no idea where I'm at
I picked up a twist and love it on some setups, and not on others. I was having a problem with the stardust/vision and stuffed them into my vape box. I ran across it the other day and put it on the twist, and cranked it up. Man, what a difference, it is really nice at around the 4.2 and 4.4v area. My ego-c stuff doesn't like the higher volts as much, and the batts run out of gas faster when running the higher volts. A mix of ego/kgo/etc in a standard and a vv would be a great combo so you could handle any type of cart/tank setup. Pretty much you will find batts with a 510 thread the most recommended. Remember it is a PV (personal vaporizer) You need to find what is right for you, as everyone is different in what they want. I find a DCT too large for transport, but the ego-c type B is just about right. Start with a single coil/standard res and set a base point. From there it will be easier to know where to go (LR/dual/mega/6v/whatever).

If you were leaning toward an ego type system, then go with the ego-c over the ego-t. I got the ego-t when it first came out, but there is more work involved. The ego-c is much better in many respects and is easy to maintain as well as the atties are cheaper to change with the C than with the T. This is all a learning curve, and vets will try and help you not have to go through all the trial and error we went through, but in many ways that is the only way to find out what suits you best, not everyone likes/expects/wants the same thing in their vaping.

Hope this helps.

Saludos

The eGo is a great ecig base for lots of atomizer options and it will be a good backup system down the road when you decide to try variable voltage vaping.

It won't be wasted money at all.

Your question about voltage was valid. 3.7v with the same resistance atomizer will give you a warmer vape, more vapor, and slightly more throat hit, which is comparable to the difference between full flavor and ultra light cigarettes. It's not a burn, but more of a feeling that you inhaled something ... a light "shock" to the throat. Some like it and some don't.

You can tailor throat hit with a variable voltage battery. You might also look at the eGo Twist that lets you change the vaping voltage from around 3.2v to 4.8v in increments. That way, you select the flavor and throat hit you like. They aren't much more expensive than the 1000mah eGo batteries.

These are on sale for $22.99.

ETA: LOL! By the time I got though typing this, 2 or 3 more people had suggested the same thing ... the Twist!
