Hey guys, I've had my eVic for about a month now.. When I first got it, I screwed one of my T2's on and it worked, but had an incredibly tight drag because the eVic's threads were blocking the air-holes. Loosening the clearo a tad freed up the drag a bit, but I never had this problem with my other batteries (Spinners, Ego's, etc..). So a week or 2 later I purchased a "510-to-Ego" adaptor to solve the problem, as well as an eVod because I've been wanting to try one of those out or the new T3S/MT3S

Now for some reason, if I'm not using the little Ego-adaptor, my T2's and eVod aren't even recognized by the device, even when fully screwed down ("Atomizer Not Found").. This doesn't seem good

.... My question is, do all of you eVic-owners who use Ego-Threaded Devices (T2, T3, eVod, etc..) have to use a 510-to-Ego adaptor with the devices for them to function properly?? I know some of you use 510-to-510 adaptors on any mod/battery to save you from any threading damage.. Thanks in advance (crxess lol)!

Any T series - Slightly pull the center pin of the clearomizer down. Just a tiny bit.
Should work fine.
I have this issue after using one on a regular Ego battery. like it pushes the pin in a bit to much.

I blame Kanger since everything else I own works on connection. Only the Kangers need fiddling.:glare:

I use a "modified" T3 on my eVic. What I mean by modified is that I've replaced the bottom cap/atomizer with a T3s bottom cap so I can use the T3s atomizer heads instead. Anyway it works great! Had started using these T3's on an eGo-C Twist battery and now that I'm using them on my eVic, I haven't noticed any difference in the draw. It's still a little "airy" but I can live with that. Might try using some EVOD atomizer heads and see if that helps any.

Damn, the thing is, my eVod was brand-new when I tried it with my eVic.. But thanks everyone!

Does not matter that the Evod was brand new. That is when they will not work. Just pull the center post down a fraction.
Every time I open a new head I have to do this. Works fine afterward.
When I clean the heads, I place my small finger against the center post and blow out the wicks to dry faster. Guess what comes next? Finger pushes post up so I have to pull it back again.:glare:

Hmm, I'll have to try it out, thanks. Just so I don't mess something up - I'm pretty sure I'm understanding this right, but you want me to push the post up on my clearo right, not my eVic's battery-post? And up as in towards the mouthpiece, correct? Thanks again

No, she is suggesting pulling it down away from the mouth piece. It's a good suggestion..
Just hook your fingernail below the rubber piece, a little will go a long way.

So my eVic wasn't messed up or anything, guys?

No, not at all. It's a common problem that affects some eVics. I guess I'm one of the fortunate ones that doesn't have this problem. I have 2 T3's and switch them back and forth between my eVic and my eGo-C Twists and haven't had to pull the pin down on either clearomizer.

It just doesn't seem very fair to me because I've also been 'babying' my eVic.. It's the most I've spent on any of my 'vaping' supplies, and when I make a bigger purchase, I make sure I take care of it!! Which I have been doing..

I think that maybe I should have tried to return my eVic right there when I bought it in the store.. Because when I bought it at my vape shop, I took a seat at the store and opened up my kit, read the instructions/manual a bit, than assembled it.. The first thing I did was screw on my T2 (was careful not too screw in too tight!), and I immediately noticed how much tighter the drag was on my T2/eVic than my T2 was with my Vision Spinner's..
... I went home that same day and tried a brand-new T2 to see if it would solve the tight draw, but got the same result. I really think the threading is slightly mis-manufactured on mine
:(
If most of you had no problem with Ego-threaded clearo's on your eVic (tight draw), than I don't think I should have either! I will try pulling my clearomizer's post downward, but still think I have a slightly defective unit.. Thanks for the feedback guys
:)

I still think it might be my eVic's threading.. I put a brand new coil on my eVod and it still doesn't hit like it should, even with the 510-to-ego adaptor.. Also, when I'm screwing my eVod (or T2 etc..) down onto the adaptor on my eVic, it gets really hard to keep screwing on about halfway through.
... I've tried leaving it about halfway screwed (stop screwing down when it starts getting hard to turn it), and it definitely doesn't hit right.. "No atomizer found message" if I don't screw it down enough.

The main thing I noticed is like dry hits from it on my eVic, because of this.. It feels really heavy in my throat and chest, like I want to wheeze after I vape it.. So I'm sticking with my PT for now until I can get my hands on the PT2.. Maybe it's just a really crappy eVod?? I might contact Eric at DiscountVapers about this, it seems a lot of items on my last purchase weren't the best manufactured products..

I think you are assuming the eVic is the problem.
Maybe your Spinner was to open and creating MORE air draw.
All eVic are made on robotic machines. If 1 is wrong, all will be wrong until the problem is realized and adjustments made. This could relate to Hundreds or even thousands being produced wrong. Not likely
Spinner threading may be shallower and allow more air to pass over or the top 510 connection could have deeper grooves allowing air to pass more easily.

Not necessarily a problem with the eVic, just different than what you expected.

Really want airy, get a ProTank

Toss that adapter - Bad machining

The metal on the threading is way to soft if you ask me. I'm on my 2nd one. 1st one lasted about 4 months before it became stripped and the 2nd one now is getting there. It takes far less twists to get it down now then when it was new. I only put AGA-T's on my evics btw.

Threading is pretty much the same on all mods from China. I would suggest using the Airflow adapter or an Ego Tank support for anything Heavy like the AGA-T.
I use the EGO tank cone adapter and it has done an excellent job of supporting my Tanks. AGA-T, RSST, Vivi.
This keeps rocking from prematurely wearing (stretching)the threads.
EGO Stainless Steel 3.5ml DCT Tank Cone
fits inside the top cap and gives a lot more support than the tiny 510 connection alone.

Thanks crxess, you're always a great help :)

But yeah, I actually am using a Protank, it's pretty much all I use besides the occasional carto, dripping atty, T2, or evod lol.. Just started rebuilding my coils for it too, built a microcoil for it last night, and gonna get more rebuilding practice tonight.. I switch the top post of the PT coil with that from the eVod to make it a tighter draw

I did buy an air control thingy but it adds a funky band to it's looks and I hate that. BUT! At least the broken one is usable with it. I just find it silly for a $100 mod to have such sad threading no matter where it's made.
