I've been vaping for a few months with njoy and it has been like smoking dried leaves. I wanted to go to something else but there was so much krappy info out there I didn't know who or what to trust so I went back to analogs. BUT, here I have found the info I needed to make a choice. Vision spinner with the Vivi Nova seems the way to go. All I need now is decide which vendor to but from. Thanks!!! You have been a great help. Also you have a supplier forum to help. I plan to tell others of your desire to make vaping understandable. Mike

Uhm... there a quite a few people that are not satisfied with the vivi novas. Either the people that are touting it got a wicking material that is different or they are being paid to promote a defective product.

I have one normal sized Vivi Nova I got from Vapor Beast and 3 Minis I got from Vapor Kings. None have any sort of "off" taste. However, I rinsed, did a quick dry burn and rinsed again before using them. The little silicone cap on the head needs to placed with the flat side of the interior metal piece placed down facing the head and the cup shape facing up.

I installed the little silicone cap upside down once and the taste was odd. Also, I got an unpleasant taste once when I forgot to rinse after dry burning. The taste for my Vivi Novas is slightly muted compared to dripping. However, other than my two instances of operator error I have not experienced anything that could be remotely described as an "off" taste.

I don't think it is fair to accuse people of dishonesty, absent the slightest shred of evidence, because they have had a different experience and/or opinion than yours. If anyone is paying me to say nice things about the Vivi Novas it is a big secret to me and my bank account.

Glad you are the path again reddragon. GotVapes.com has most everything you need in stock. The prices arent the absolute cheapest, but they are pretty good and with the discount program the prices get a little better. I did find the spinner cheaper at some places but they didn't have the accessories I wanted or the other way around. If you aren't chomping at the bit to get your stuff then best way to get the best price will be to pick up a little bit from different vendors and making several orders, but then you will have to figure out the shipping differences and take that all into account. For me I got everything from 2 sites. Madvapes has better prices but they are out of stock of virtually everything you would want right now. Got vapes has everything you need except the cheap usb charger. They do have (slightly) pricey charger kit in stock if you are willing to spend a few extra bux. Keep in mind they are out of the low resistance replacement coils for the nova, so if you wanted to stock up on 2.8 or 3.2 ohm you would be fine. I found that vaporkings has the mini-nova for $7 but their replacement coils were by far the most expensive. LJE smokes Healthcabinet and Hoosierecig had the best price I found so far on the replacement coils. ValleyVapes has the cheapest charger kit I have found at only $6 which includes both the wall and usb unit (non-joyetech).

I'm very open to the idea that there has been a change in the production process for vivi novas that would explain the dramatically different experience that I've had with vivi novas than you, as was the case with boges. My opinion is based on ordering an vivi nova 3ml v2.5 and a vivi nova mini from My Vapor Store on 10/01/12. Both of these units don't work at all. The taste is completely sh.t compared to stardusts or dripping. Don't take my word for it just check out the ecf forum:

Tanks

This section of ecf is overwhelmed with threads from dissatisfied buyers of vivi novas.

I would not recommend the vivi nova at all. I got the authentic v2.5 one from mvs a week ago. Every juice i've put in it tastes absolutely horrible. This is because of the wicking material they choose to use.

The clearos I got with my starter kit are indescribably better. Essentially they are the same as the vivi novas but have a different wicking material. I'm 99% sure that if I put the wick from my clearos in a vivi it would work great.

Imo the people that are touting vivis got a version with a different wick material. Take a look at all the threads about replacing vivi wicks with cotton.

I got my first and only three Vivi Novas from GotVapes on 7/26/12, and they're serving me just fine. If they in fact suck, all I can say is that I look forward very much to how much nicer they'll be when I decide to get into modding them.

There are tons of people who love the nova on here and 2 that I know of that don't. I know I'm in the category that loves it.

I have to say that I've heard far more good than bad about them. PBusardo says that they're his current go-to attachment while what he calls "BogeGate" sorts itself out.

Uhm... there are quite a few people that are not satisfied with the vivi novas. Either the people that are touting it got a wicking material that is different or they are being paid to promote a defective product.

I'm certainly not getting paid to promote the Vivi Nova, and I wouldn't go as far as you do in branding it a flat-out "defective product". It certainly seems to be true that it can be greatly improved upon by using different wicking material, non-resistant tails, and other tweaks, but again, "defective" is IMO a bit strong.

"The" way to go; IMO that's hard to back up. A "very good" way to go, while one explores all of the other options in the vaposphere? Very defensible IMO.

Wellll If you don't like em don't buy em is all I can say.

Good advice.

I am new to vaping. I have tried blu e cigarettes and was not pleased with their performance. Like you I got on this forum and did my research. I just received my 1000mah twist and vivi nova two days ago. With a budget of 80 dollars you will be very pleased. I got the ego twist 1000mah, with ego c style charger, Vivi nova tank and cafe n creme e liquid all for 80 shipped from got vapes. I have been vaping for two days and am blown away with the difference in performance and quality. Being that the twist is a vv. you can adjust it to your taste and vapor preference. If its too harsh you can turn it down. If it does not hit hard enough simple turn it up. I personally like mine with the 2.4 ohm resistance and the voltage setting at 4.4v. I wish the best of luck to you. I hope my information helps you in your decision making process, Joe.

Frank -

EPIC first post, and welcome to the forum!

The advice you just gave is potentially life-saving. I am a very strong proponent of variable voltage - especially since the arrival of the eGo-class VV's - and your post spells out exactly why, straight from a beginning vaper, whose first-hand testimony can mean far more than the opinions or recommendations of anyone with more experience.

Nicely played on your equipment choice, and on your excellent post.

Thank you for your encouraging words. 30 days cigarette free! I hope to learn more from the forums. Share my experience with others on the forum.

I certainly have not experienced it. The flavor I get is pretty close to dripping (with the same juice side by side) and certainly not "off", but they do need to be cleaned before they'll perform well.

I didn't notice any real difference in flavor re-wicking with cotton.

Re-wicking with SS Mesh did make a noticeable difference, but it's not night & day.

My normal heads appear to be silica, and I am certainly not paid to tout the vivi nova. I just really like them.

Brand new vaper here. I received my 2 Mini Novas and 2 Ego Twists in the mail Saturday afternoon from Got Vapes. I also ordered a couple of 30 ml bottles of randomly chosen tobacco flavored juices.

All I can say is that I now consider myself to be a non-smoker after about 40 yrs of 1-2 PAD Marlboro Lights. This stuff is really good and I've had no desire to light one up.

This set-up is incredibly simple, even for a total novice. I didn't get a box or instructions of any sort. It was intuitively obvious how to put this thing together. The one thing that's not obvious is the 5 clicks needed to turn the battery on and off. Just a little reading around this site while waiting on my order taught me that.

It may not be the greatest vape in the world but it's all I know. If other things are even better, then I look forward to learning about them. Based on my limited experience, I'd highly recommend the Twist/Mini Nova combination for any new vaper.

Dave...

Silicone Cap-the flat interior piece needs to be placed down. Which side is down? Is down the side that points to the battery and up the side that that points to the mouthpiece?
