ok so after about 4 years of using only eGo twists I finally decided to graduate to reg mods. this weekend was my first using just my mods; an Aspire Zelos and a Tesla Nano Steampunk. but since i vape at work (shhh. nobody knows) i figured it'd be best to just keep taking my eGo to work with me so's i can continue vaping stealthily in my office without having to worry about people noticing big plumes of vape dancing around my head; or the noise, mods are kinda loud by comparison.

anyway about half way through the workday i noticed that i was feeling tinges of nicotine withdrawals, even though i was vaping all day. i was all, "what da %^$&? i'm having nicotine withdrawals, and i've been vaping all day!" so's i figured that even though i only vape juices with 6mg of nicotine i'd been pumping myself with so much nicotine over the weekend that my humble eGo twist just couldn't cut it anymore. i guess what i'll need to do is either bump up the nicotine when i use my eGo, or step down the nicotine for my mods. i'd rather step down but my favorite juice isn't available below 6mg. :/

has anyone else experience anything like that while vacillating between eGos and mods?

Sub ohming always delivers a better nic hit. If using a VV battery of any sort like the ego pen style batteries you need to use a juice with higher nic content. I personally when stealth vaping use a Vaporesso Target Pro with a 0.5 ohm Kanthal coil. That works for me @ 6mg. Ego twist batteries and their clearos like the Kangartech T3D to acheive the same nic hit you need at least between 12 to 16 mg/ml. Don't be afraid of going higher, your body will tell you when you have had enough.

I usually switch back and forth between my MTL setup and my DL setup. I normally use 24mg nicotine in my Nautilus 2 and two weeks ago I didn't use my Alien with an RDA for 2 days straight because I was without my Alien. After those 2 days, for the first hour of 6mg nicotine on my Alien again each hit seemed way too strong and too some time getting used to being able to take a large pull. So I'd say that a DL hit is usually harsher and somewhat more satisfying but everyone's different.

Well, not specifically that equipment but yes, if you graduated to something far stronger as far as nic all at once and chain vaped it all weekend, I doubt the other setup is going to seem the same. I'd say buy a smaller, MTL tank and use it with lower wattage, higher nicotine.... You can still stealth vape, but it may be more satisfying and you'll feel less nic withdrawal. Or, take your larger new tank to work, take breaks (if you can) and go outside and vape yourself silly, in between using your old equipment, if that's possible.

I used to take Egos to work just because they were small. Lately it's got harder to vape at work. I make my own juice so I did some with all PG and 20mg nic and no flavor, I use 8mg at home. Means I can vape a lot less often and make very little visible vapor and no aroma. You just have to figure out what you can get away with and what satisfies your nic needs.

You can buy unflavored nic in PG at any level you want. If you do that it probably wouldn't matter what setup you were using.

i'm seriously considering making my own juices. since i've been using mods, and at high wattages, i've noticed i go though juice a helluva lot faster than i ever did with the humble eGos. been watching youtube videos about how to get started making my own juice. it seems kinda daunting how technical the process is but i might soon just dive into it cuz it seems like it'll save me a lot of money in the long run.

If you check out the DIY section you will get all the advice you need and more. Way, way more.

I started out with enough equipment to stock a laboratory, based on what I read on ECF. Now all I use is some small syringes for flavorings, measure everything else in a couple of plastic measuring cylinders.

It partly depends on how precise you want to be. The way I do it the nic level ends up somewhere between 8 and 9, PG ends up between 35% and 45%. I'm equally relaxed about the flavorings. Some people are very precise. Some measure by volume, others measure by weight. You can even get premixed flavorings, so you don't have to make recipes with multiple flavorings.

And you have the flexibility. When I needed some high nic, unflavored PG juice it took me 20 minutes to make up a bottle.

It really is as complicated as you want to make it. Most people who try it seem to enjoy it. And once you get used to juice that is pretty close to free it would be hard to go back to paying through the nose for ready mix. One more factor is availability. It's quite possible that you won't be able to buy juice at all a year from now. Nic could disappear from the shelves tomorrow. But once you have some nic in the freezer you don't have to worry.

If you go that way, have fun with it. Doesn't have to be a chore.
