I'm on the fence with these two. At first I liked the iTaste v3.0 until I came across the V2 Mega. I like the features and the design of the iTaste, but not sure about the battery being 800mAh. Then I saw the V2 Mega with a 1200mAh battery, but no Variable Wattage.

I can only afford one of them at this time and would hate to make a mistake.

I'd like your opinion.
Thanks.

It really comes down to what's more important to you?

Battery Life or functionality.

The iTaste has more functions, (i.e. variable wattage, built in ohm meter (which is nice), battery health indicator on the fire button). The V2 Mega has a bigger battery.

For me it was some of the intangibles....Square shape means the itaste doesn't roll. Standard Micros USB charging connection (one less proprietary cable to lose). Passthrough charging while vaping mitigates the shorter life of the iTaste and buying a couple eliminates that limitation completely.

Here's a link where this very topic was discussed.

I have an itaste vv3, (actually three of them) so you can guess what side of the fence I fell on.

Greetings; These devices are really apples & oranges. If you're thinking about the Mega because you want more features (e.g. such as Var Voltage) than what you have now, keep in mind that the Innokin device pretty much has all the features that it is possible to get -- VV, VW, Ohm Reader (I think), etc. It's a full-fledged Advanced Personal Vaping device.

I personally went through a slow, frustrating and costly progression of beginner eGo batteries before I finally bought an APV that gave me the kind of vaping experience that I really enjoy -- my advice, FWIW, is that if you're already committed to vaping, and not just experimenting, don't waste time with the Mega.

The drawback with the Innokin VV, as has been pointed out, is battery time. But if you're often around computers during the day, it's easy to recharge on the fly, and the Innokin VV has pass-through capability (kind of) -- IOW you can vape while the device is recharging. If you're not around computers a lot, maybe it would make sense to be patient until you can afford to spend a bit more, and get something like the Innokin MVP, which has a 2600 mAh battery that should last for a day or two between recharges (if not longer).

Good luck!

Glenn

Thanks p.opus. I saw that link before I posted here and read the whole page. I am leaning towards the itaste vv3. I still would like to read more views from the users here.

Okay, you got it!

I LOVE the iTaste! I have 4 of them, I started with v2 (variable voltage only), and added 2 more v3 (variable voltage and wattage). They are FANTASTIC and you can't go wrong for the price. I am sure you have read about all the features already, so I won't do a full review of them. The most important 2 features for me are the ohm meter and the pass thru vaping. The least important is the puff counter. I would certainly recommend the iTaste VV over the V2 Mega.

They are only an 800 mAh battery, but each one lasts me between 4-6 hours of heavy vaping. Of course, as always ... YMMV!

BTW ... the square shape of the iTaste is very comfortable to hold, and keeps them from rolling off the table like my eVic does!

I got two of them here. 29.99 for the express kit with free shipping. It's a steal. The seller ships really fast and both units I got had the authenticity sticker on them that I verified at the innokin website.

The six rivet design is nice because it addresses some peoples issue with pulling the bottom end cap off when they were removing the micro usb connector out.

I just ordered an SLB eGo-V MEGA V3 here and it should arrive in a couple of days.

I have a friend who has an ITaste VV v3 and I loved it, but the short battery life was a no go for me. When I found out about the SLB eGo-V MEGA V3 a few days ago I was ecstatic. It has all the features of the ITaste VV v3 (except the puff counter, but I couldn't care less) plus a 1300mah battery. It suits all my needs, and at a great price. I'm really looking forward to getting mine.

Both are good for their intended purpose which is not an ADV, but rather a small form factor with upgraded features. Quality wise, the iTaste 3.0 will hold up much longer than the V5's. I had two V5's that made it 3 months and 5 months. My four iTastes are over 10 months old now. You resolve the battery life dilemma by buying two batteries. Worked for me anyway. The V5 quality and durability and longevity was a total deal killer for me. Be warned. The iTaste 3.0 is the best stick battery in the market, imho. Good luck to you!

Yeah, the SLB has been out quite awhile now and just never made the grade for whatever reasons. Quality control and price structure, I believe. The VV V3 on the other hand is a huge hit even with having to hold it together with rivets, lol.

I think vapers are finally coming to accept built in battery packs.

I ended up buying a Ego 900 Mah Pass Through for $13 and change (w/shipping) today on eBay. I really wanted a pass through while at my PC and not having to stop vaping to recharge my eGo-T which left me with two 808's.

I'm still waiting for my eGo Twist 1100mAh which should carry me though a day away from my PC, should I ever get it in my lifetime.

I did shop around for those VV pass throughs. I later read that they work best with an A/C plugin(an older house and short on A/C plugs). So for less then that option I also have another back up device, even though it's not VV.
I will want to upgrade some time down the road. Maybe there will be an iTaste v4.0 with a bigger battery.

When I saw the name 'eGo Mega', I was thinking in terms of an eGo Upgrade or something like that, didn't realize the Mega was a new product with VV and VW features...it looks interesting.

After you get it, I hope you'll do a post about your experiences.
