LowThudd,

could I buy a 900mAh battery and use it with everything I already have for my Tornado? I believe I would need a different charger but I am draining a battery in about 4 hours right now, which is why my interest is in what I have now and what will work with the things I already own. I don't want to do another outlay for more hardware if I can help it...

Other than the battery issue I am happy with my Tornado and have not had any other problems with it at all. I am hoping to slow down on my vaping mania soon. I am using 24 mg/ml e-juice but it is the act of using analogs I miss and this is the only thing that has addressed that issue for me. I may be a vaper for life, I just don't plan on quitting just yet.

Thank you so much for responding to my questions!

A pass through will plug directly into a USB port, either to your computer or powered USB hub, or to an AC-USB wall adapter. It will allow you to vape without worrying about draining a battery. Follow back in the thread to the eGo USB Battery that LowThudd recommended. I have one on the way.

Just ordered a couple of LR atomizers to try, couldn't resist the 40% off sale MyFreedomSmokes is currently having.

Thanks DesertDweller,

I did look at the pass through units but they are just not very well suited for my lifestyle because I am not at my computer all day to be plugged in. If I were that would certainly be the way I would go. I did some reading on the LR attys and some reviews said that they had a tendency to burn out faster than the regular attys like I now use. I am also switching to some new filler as well in my carts (Lipton Pyramid Tea Bags use a very fine silk mesh that a friend of mine has been using and she loves it, so I am going to give that a shot too.)

Thanks for the advice. Everyone here is great and always willing to answer stupid questions like mine, since I am such a newbie all I can ask are stupid questions...LOL!

Kelly,

I looked into all the cart mods, but in the end I've settled on cartomizers. I like the amount of liquid they hold and the mostly no fuss factor, aside from filling them. One of these days I'll try the filler mods in carts like the PTB.

I see you're in Mesa. I'm in Tempe. There is a group here, VIP - Vaping in Phoenix. They do monthly meetups, and I'm going to try to hit my first one up this month. Not sure how to link straight to the group, but if you search the Social Forums you'll find it.

We have both in our house. I am really partial to the ego. My boyfriend loves his 510. He works at home so he never has an issue with charging it or anything...my ego lasts all day so I don't have any worries at work. And when we go out, we take 2 of each...just in case. :)

I think he likes it because the shape and feel of it is similar to a real smoke. It doesn't seem to matter to me one way or another so I guess it's just a matter of opinion...unless it comes down to battery life. Then it's EGO!

if you want to stay with the 510 in public and not go to the size of the ego they have a 510 mega battery that is supposed to last 3 time longer than the regular 510 battery. I am not sure about that as i just got mine today and haven't tested them yet. The good part is they fit in the 510 charger. They are about 1" longer. I got mine from http://prostores3.megawebservers.com/vaporcig_com/-strse-11/Mega-510-Battery-for/Detail.bok. They were 14.95 but you could probably find them cheaper but i live in California and needed them fast. Got them in 1 day after i ordered them.

DesertDweller,

I was invited by Hellen to join VIP so I am now a member of the group. I may not make this meeting because of the election and doing stuff involved with that but I do hope to make it to the next one. I am looking forward to meeting the people who are members of VIP. It sounds like it should be lots of fun and we can all vape at once! LOL!!

Hope to see you at one of their meetings.

I really want to thank all of you for such great information on the different options available, your advice was very welcome as well. One of my life long friends and I are doing the vaping together but she lives in Albuquerque so we spend a lot of time on the phone (great thing I have unlimited long distance thru Qwest) comparing information and to see how we are doing. I could not be happier to be off analogs and the most surprising thing to me is that I don't even want one now. I had a few tense days right after I had my last analog but figured out it was the menthol I was missing and not the analog itself. So for those few days I just added a couple of drops of e-juice into my cartridge (I mixed it with some vanilla latte) and vaped like my e-cig was a pacifier...which it pretty much was, LOL! That little bit of menthol kept me from running out and buying a pack of analogs.

There is so much to learn about all the e-cig options, e-juice suppliers and flavors and a whole new language to learn with all the terminology and abbreviations used here. So I am forever grateful for all of your help and most of all your patience with a newbie to the world of e-cigs and vaping!

Yes, all eGo batts are compatible w/ your tornado, as well as the charger.

I've heard, read, and watched so much info on both the Ego and 510, that I have purchased both! lol I have just received my 510 today in the mail....vaping on it right now...and loving it, and ordered an Ego today. This is my first day vaping and am pretty impressed with it. Hopefully I will no longer have the need for an analog again!

Wish me luck! Thanks and Happy Vaping! :vapor:

Yes, Ego essentially is the same as a 510, but, there is a difference in the battery size and an addition of a 'cone'...which these 2 differences obviously, with the Ego, gives u longer battery life and a better vapor and TH. At least this is the information I have gathered so far. As stated above, I just ordered the Ego today, so have not yet experienced. Can't wait, though!

Good for you Madison Ave!
Happy vaping, it was the best decision I made to stop analogs. Have the medical evidence to back it up with a 5% increase in my oxygen saturation level. That sealed it for me, I am not using this as a quitting smoking tool (I wish companies would stop marketing them that way, it will bring the FDA into our midst) I will probably be a vaper for life, but that's fine with me. I'm doing something that replaces the analogs with something that does not have thousands of added chemicals and makes me a pariah because I smoke.

Kelly....great name....for it is my name too....lol:thumbs:

I too will probably be a vapor for life! My plan is to at least bring down my nic levels to hopefully a big fat zero. I have been smoking for a long long time now and the 'habit' of the hand/mouth thing, for me would be way to hard to quit than I think the nic itself.

Only time will tell....Anyways, I am glad I decided to drop those 4000 plus chemicals and stick to vaporing...or at least hope too...fingers crossed!

Happy Vaporing! :vapor:

Hi Kelly!
Good to meet you! I can tell you I was a 25 yr smoker and at one point 2 packs a day. I stopped the analogs 3 weeks ago and as I said I will probably be a vaper for life. I tried everything to quit...the patch, the gum, the lozenges, the Chantix and Wellbutrin, all of them and always went back to analogs. It is the hand to mouth action I missed with the other ways. I am not doing this as a way to quit just as a way to do something that is a whole lot less damaging to my life. I found wonderful vapors in the flavors I love and look forward to using and in the right nic level for me, so stopping the analogs wasn't all that hard. In fact smoking one now makes me want to gag. I had to change my toothbrush and my laundry basket smelled like an ashtray so I washed it all and now I notice anyone who walks by me in a store or wherever who smokes, really smells like an ashtray. I thought "Did I smell like that too?"...

Hang in there and I hope you achieve the results you are seeking. Vaping is great, whether you end up quitting or not, you are doing something to improve your health by getting away from the analogs.

Great success to you!
Kelly
