Maybe I'm out of touch with new users, but my limited experience with them (my sisters), tells me that the 'hassle' of vaping is more in the juice/cart/refill/drip arena than battery life. Once converted, I'm sure battery life would become the next major issue to overcome, but getting them over the 'you want me to what with this bottle?' phase is the hardest thing to explain, especially over the phone. Are all of you dripping or refilling carts? How often do you have to do that? Is it a lot? My (also limited) experience with 510s is that the atomizer rips through fluid like a chainsaw through butter, compared to the 801 anyway. I had to put in 3 drops, take 4 or 5 puffs and re-drip. Is that the usual experience?
I've been vaping for about a year now, and while cleaning the attys is a pain, I've been through 7 DSE901 batteries now. I have 4 that kind of work (3 sent back for replacements, making up 3 of these 4) with only 1 still able to last more than 3 hours of light vaping (very light).. one flashes after 10 to 15 puffs! So, having small batteries to begin with, and having to carry several around with you and have chargers all over (one at home, one at work, one for the car if I drive anywhere) is a TOTAL pain.. trust me. Being able to walk out the door with just "one" setup and be set for the day (sure, I have a bottle of juice at work, too) will be a VERY welcome change. In fact, the cleaning/filling/etc wasn't enough to make me think about abandoning vaping, but these damn batteries are driving me nuts!
The "filling" of carts isn't a problem at all for me.. And to the poster that mentioned "3 drops", that means you're not really filling the cart. I've found that most times when I refill a cart, after 3 or 4 drops it "looks full", but that's because the juice doesn't wick down well (with factory packing). I have to either wiggle it with a pin (at work) or use a tweezers to "churn" the juice down in.. then I get a good hour or so of reasonable vaping (2 hours at work where I'm doing other things).
I've been looking for an alternative to this DSE901 setup, and this sounds like it.. and with a simple adapter, I can use the remaining 4 attys I have (and one well working 4075 atty) before I switch to 501 attys.
Which brings up my question.. are the sizes of the 501 carts different than the 901s? I have like 20 901 carts sitting around that I'd rather not have to dump after my last 901 atty goes out (though, I could buy a few more 901 attys for the eGo

).
