Still on the same batteries from this morning... Going on 10 hours now! Anyways, I just put both the Protege and eGo on the scale to see the weight difference. The eGo weighs in at 33.7 grams (about 1.2 ounces) and the Prodigy weighs 65.9 grams... It's about twice as heavy.

The battery life for this small and light of a design is absolutely unbelievable! My best ecig purchase to date... Hands down! I really have high hopes for beginners who find this device. It eliminates so many of the problems and frustrations that the new users face.

Tribal, check i-vapours forum(edit nevermind lol). I got mine direct from Janty in Holland (with free incense sticks ~) because I didn't know how quick i-vapour would get them in and I needed something to replace two 510 batteries I lost over Christmas.
The battery component is exactly the same dimensions as a 14500/AA up to the switch assembly so that should tell you how long you can expect to get out of them. I first charged the battery I'm using now at 1pm and its still going strong, didn't take long to charge, about 20minutes or so, although it was probably shipped 3/4 already. The kit is fairly expensive but for the quality/size/feel of it, it was worth it.

Maybe I'm out of touch with new users, but my limited experience with them (my sisters), tells me that the 'hassle' of vaping is more in the juice/cart/refill/drip arena than battery life. Once converted, I'm sure battery life would become the next major issue to overcome, but getting them over the 'you want me to what with this bottle?' phase is the hardest thing to explain, especially over the phone. Are all of you dripping or refilling carts? How often do you have to do that? Is it a lot? My (also limited) experience with 510s is that the atomizer rips through fluid like a chainsaw through butter, compared to the 801 anyway. I had to put in 3 drops, take 4 or 5 puffs and re-drip. Is that the usual experience?

I apologize for the terrible blurriness but the camera's battery is dead and this is the best I could get with my phone without some sort of tripod! The sticks should arrive tomorrow and I will snap a better photo with one of them!

From left to right: A pen (for reference!), 510 with mega battery, Protege with 510 adapter, 801 atty and adapter for Protege, eGo, standard 510. Hope this gives you a bit of an idea!

Hello there,
Could you include your jantystick in the picture?

I normally get about 4 or 5 good hits off my 510 before i need to drip 2 to 3 drops into my cart. Would be nice if this wasn't the case, but I'll sacrifice some dripping in the name of great, satisfying plumes of vapor.

Also, the ego uses 510 attys? Strange because the housing on it looks tapered to the point a 510 atty wouldn't fit. If it is a 510 atty, then this thing is pretty damn cool! I personally am not that mobile with my e-cig because i have to lug around 2 regular batteries and a mega just to make sure i can survive the day. I normally vape with only passthroughs (one in the car, and one at my 'puter) so it would be nice to move to a system that I could reliably count on the batteries throughout the day.

I contacted Janty via e-mail the other day in regards to using 510 attys with the eGo - as per Ethan the 510 attys are fully compatible with the eGo.

Yep, the attys are 510s, just regular old 510s... I actually don't think I have used the one sent with the kit yet as I just unscrewed a 510 I was using with the Protege and put it in the eGo. The tapered "atomizer housing" that you are referring to is like a trim piece which screws into the battery unit separately from the atty, this makes it look nicer and creates an air chamber surrounding the atty (looks like this /||\) with the 510 being right in the middle which keeps juice from leaking from the atty onto your hands and keeps the atty insulated (warm on the inside, cooler to the touch on the outside). Hope that didn't make it confusing. Soon, I will get around to taking a picture with the Janty stick in it as well as with the atty housing removed.

Question from a noob, is the ego or janty stick considered a mod or a class of e cigarrette on its own like 510 808, 901?

I consider them to be mods (the stick is an 801 mod and the ego is a 510 mod), but Janty and others may have different opinions, which would be equally valid.

Both the stick and ego are factory produced under mass production conditions, so they can also be considered classes unto themselves.

There are no established rules for naming conventions or designations.

They're 60mg - I lit one and it stunk the whole house out for 3 days. Never again :

Just wondering, why shouldn't I order the Tornado from TW instead of the eGo? They are the exact same product, just with different branding...right? The only diff I see is for the same price, TW gives you 2 attys where there is only one included with the eGo. I see tons of threads talking about the eGo. Am I missing anything else?
