Haven't used both but the Riva is 3.7v where the ego is only 3.4

Which is misleading because the eGo's use pulse width modulation, which has been claimed to change the nature of the vape.

However, I do own and use both. They both work. And even my original eGo batteries from a year ago are still working.

Some have reported Riva batteries not lasting as long.

So #coinflip

I've had true Joye (Janty and TW) eGo batteries last for over a year. My Janty charger is nearly two years old and works flawlessly. I had 2 Riva batteries have switch issues and one Riva charger take a dive. I wish I had a larger sample size to offer more of an opinion, but in my experience the Joye stuff has been worth the extra couple of dollars. JMHO, natch...

I have Rivas and my roommate has an Egos. One of his bats has a bad connection and he has to shake it/beat on it etc to get it to work. We've passed them back and forth and find no discernible difference in the vaping. I like the Riva button better.

Also, with the 20% off at liberty-flights, I think you're saving more than $5 but I certainly haven't checked every vendors' price...

Thanks all, for your time. I should have stated that I currently have 2 Riva batteries. One died at about a month old. The other is still going strong. It seems that everything involved with vaping has a few QC issues. I'll try an Ego considering that all I need is the battery. What's another $18, right.

I had a Riva die after a month. My joye batteries are still going strong since i've gotten them. I don't know if that means I've been lucky with the Joye batteries, unlucky with the Riva or maybe it doesn't mean anything.

Comparing the eGo to the Riva is like comparing an apple to another apple. They both have Chinese made proprietary batteries with quality inconsistencies so you might get good or bad batteries with either. They work the same and seem to be about the same quality so I'd say go with the best deal you can find.

LF warranties their Riva batts for 2 months. I just had one die just under the 2 month mark and they're going to replace it (as soon as a black batt comes in stock) So even if it dies after 2 months, it's only $12.

IMO the Ego and Riva are very different. The difference in voltage is very noticeable to me. My eGo batts seem so weak to me compared to the Riva and my 3.7 box mods.

The Riva SE kit comes with 2 2.0 atties.. the Riva lite kit is $4.34 cheaper and includes 2 2.2 atties.. the Riva carto deluxe bundle comes with 5 2.0 cartos and a carrying case and is the best deal IMO unless you are an atty user and don't want a carrying case. (It's $34.39)
