Talking about the top of the chimney?

I saw a video on a vertical coil for the bachelor and was thinking of trying it. Sounds good.

The base has to push past threads to install.
The vertical is OK, I think I needed a little more room up top in the chamber in this one.. But here's the build...

OK here's the vertical build I put in the ehpro bachelor tank.. Been a long time since I did a vcore/chimney/BVC. I posted the first Rayon build with this type of coil, and popularized the vertical coil.

28g ss430 Rayon wick, ~3mm diameter coil closest I had, the air hole was slightly larger though and would look to fit it perfectly if I had a size that fit it tighter.

Forming coil and then spacing it out.

Sizing leg test fitting and wrapping with Rayon, did one small piece snug first, then followed with a long piece. Its the way I chose to do it.

Fitting coil, tamping Rayon down.

Finished product

Better air flow and plenty of saturation

It did come a little short after break in and added another layer around the outside by opening the gap with a needle and pushing more down in. Also filled the slots the rest of the way.

Now it's complete. Here it is after vaping it a few days.

I just happen to have a cleaned but unused one here to examine.
That one that has to "push through" is damn thin, and damned close to level with the threading... thus the damage. Maybe if the base threading was a larger diameter it would allow a fatter o-ring above and it would still slip in through the body threads.

Yeah the tolerance is so tight I'm not sure anything can help without them redesigning the base to allow room.

Definitely better air flow, you have no coil in the way. No leaks after I finished filling it with wick.. The u channels need to be filled with wick. Next time I would bring the wick or coil down some.

You can see in the pictures that the wick was above the coil quite a bit and this added to the moisture.. I felt it was near touching the top of the chamber and the vape was really wet because of it.. I think it would be better with a little more head room and a tighter tolerance on the wick at the coil end.

Just reporting that I still have no leaking/seeping. Put in the TC coil that came with it last night. It's just been sitting there begging to be tried.

BTW, has anyone noticed they've redesigned the top with 3 o-rings on the full size version?

I wonder why they went to a dual coil design?

That will mean I'll have to pass on this one, thank god (won't have to buy 4 of these to get a good one luckily :p ).

Too bad though, they turned it in to a completely different RTA with those tiny juice holes and the dual core.

The bachelor name is even less desirable now . . .

I agree the "Bachelor II" shouldn't be a dual-coil affair. They should've called it "Player" or "Wingman," or...something else. "Casanova," maybe.

But I do like the looks of the juice-feeding and top-fill innovations. If we could be sure of availability after next month, I'd probably wait for a single-coil version. Things being how they are, I may snag a couple of these mark 2s for the collection, when I can find them.

So what is everyone doing on the top fill hole o-ring? I see this one failing with no replacements that I know of. Unless anyone knows another way. Other than that, the nano version is a great RTA, I've been using it a couple days no leaks at all and great flavor. Good buy.

Do you mean the large white fill gasket?
I guess we really haven't talked about that thing in a while.

Not sure how it would get damaged, but stuff happens.

Is there a food grade silicone type product?
A couple of tall plugs for the fill holes... you could just fill it like a mold. :p
