Deadbeatjeff, I recently got the eBay ehpro version you recommended. When I got it though the air control screw on the bottom of the tank was all the way in. Doesn't appear to come out at all. Looks like the screw is smaller than the threading actually. Anyway its pushed in as far as it goes it looks like. How will this affect my life? Should I return it?

Have you tried unscrewing it? I keep mine flush with the bottom of the base.

If you can't unscrew it or it just falls out then I would request a replacement. At least let the seller know about the issue so they can address it.

I too asked the same question. It's got that groove milled into it like there should be one. I'd guess it was designed to have one but testing before it was ever released showed it wasn't needed but the machining was never changed.

I can't hardly imagine that there would not be a need for the o-ring in the top cap. Metal to metal is not typically liquid tight especially when you draw on the tip you are creating a vacuum. Both of mine came with the o-ring installed in the milled groove and no leaks here to report.

Not the top cap, the chimney cap. It has a groove milled to take an o-ring where it would seal against the cylindrical chimney. But no version ever had an o-ring. But plenty of people, including me, get their first Kayfun and see that groove and wonder if an o-ring is missing.

Well, it should be a little slot-head screw. Did you try to unscrew it with the little screwdriver-keychain utensil?

Like Jerry, I generally keep it pretty much flush with the base, and if indeed it really won't unscrew I'd contact the seller (vapeex is pretty intent on keeping his good rating and will make it right for you). I think it costs like $1.50 to mail it back, which would be well worth it, TBH - Having it all the way screwed in permanently really is not ideal.

Although, they generally do come with the screw all the way in.

nether the base of the chimney or the middle connection of the chimney needs an o-ring.

ah I see; the depth is kinda hard to judge, but I do see the air intake above the screw. That does seem like a defective unit.

Maybe it's the magnification, but looks kinda beat up too... you're saying you just got that? Have had my V2 for over a month and the SS is still shiny on the bottom, threads clean.

You should have a 2 week no-questions-asked return period - do it, and you'll have a new, proper 'Fun by Monday

On mine that screw basically sits flush with the bottom of the base when it arrived. The one time I tried lessening the airflow I never had to screw it in anywhere as deep as yours is. So I'll also suggest there's some sort of defect.

Has anyone tried running cinnamon juices with the plastic ( like fire n ice )? I'd really like to give my drippers a rest, and after 4 builds / wicking attempts on my fogger v4 I'm ready to smash that thing with a sledge lol.

The plastic is nice, hard, clear plastic. But like any plastic it will crack and corrode with juices that... crack and corrode plastic.

Does have the full SS build though.

I have heard several people say they cracked the plastic tanks with their juices.

Yeah, I always use the SS tank, because I use so many tank crackers. I do miss seeing my juice levels though. The glass kit is really expensive!

There are a lot of crackers out there.. all citruses, a lot of fruits generally, cinnamons and other alcohol-soluble essential oils...

After accidentally trashing my big clear M tank in just a couple hours (cantaloupe and anise.... deadly combo, but didn't occur to me for some reason), I'm much more careful now. Just use the clear section for my tobaccos now, really.

I apologize for budding in here with unrelated issue, but can anyone help with the whistle sound im getting, It doesn't bother me that much but my wife is super annoyed with that noise and I have to admit, it's annoying.

So I've tried adusting AF screw carefully, little at a time, took it right out and still the whistle. Also tried different drip tips and it makes no difference.?

Take a paper clip or other similar sized bit of metal. Put in airflow hole on side of base. Turn the adjustable center pin until the paper clip moves when it lines up with the hole in the center pin. Typically it lines up when the slot in the 510 connector lines up with the airflow adjustment screw. Should fix the whistle.
