This is 2 mm ekowool. I used ss mesh to carry the juice faster. Good Eye man ! Yes it's .5 Ribbon Kanthal. I'm getting 1.6 ohms. It's vaping just nicely. As long as the mesh is in, I really don't see any wicking problems at any resistance.

Do you think the 2nm has enough give to go over 3/32 ss rope which is 2.38 mm? .4mm doesn't seem like much so id assume it work fine ?

I built a .8 ribbon coil with 2 strands of 1.5 mm Ekowool this morning. This is solid. It has four strands inside to fill the hole. I torched it, and it became rigid. But yet, the liquid flows nicely. The flavor and th is off the chain. My Hangsen Green Apple is so realistic tasting. I've been chain vaping all morning. Very minimal flavor loss as the coil breaks in.

20130602_162425.jpg There is no need to wrap the coil with a pin with the wicks. I wound up getting hot spots, because the wick is stiffer than regular silica. I had to re-tighten my coil. Now it's all good.

I can report that the 1mm cord (which is not braided) is equally awesome. No fraying, and after torching completely tasteless, pretty good stuff.

Be warned though, I remember seeing a thread (will post in there as well when I find it) where a member was warning about resellers that "cheat" on the sold lengths....seems where I got it form are one of them :(.

Perhaps we got our Ekowool from different vendors with different suppliers, but there is 1mm Ekowool which is braided. I got mine from Stormysvaporcellar.

1mm Ekowool on bottom, compared to 1mm silica.

I think I was just ripped off, this is what I ordered and where from, I got a standard 1mm chord(although the silica seems of better quality, it's not braided):

1-Ekowool 1,0mm - Ordered 2,00m, received 1,30m, MISSING 0,7m - NOT BRAIDED!
2-Ekowool 1,5mm - Ordered 3,00m, received 2,30m, MISSING 0,7m!
3-Ekowool 2,0mm - Ordered 3,00m, received 2,10m, MISSING 0,9m!

Over 30% of my order is missing and the 1mm is not even braided, don't even know if this stuff is Ekowool...:glare:

I managed to wrap a 1.2Ω coil of 28AWG Kanthal over two pieces of 2mm ekowool and wedge it into a CE2 ceramic for my Diver. I'm now able to take long chain vapes without dry hits due to the wicking action that seems better than the silica that I've used. I want to try a single piece next as it will fit the ceramic better, but I hope I don't notice a reduction in wicking.
