Why don't you just buy some from Ebay. Twik Ekowool and Twisted Organic Cotton Yarn Hybrid Wick for Atomizer Build | eBay

$4.50 with free shipping. I think it's worth it.

I just got some of this yesterday and am vaping a dual with it right now. It wicks perfectly! Taste seems to be about the same as regualr silica. It's so absorbant that I can leave my BF open without flooding (I was not able to do this with silica).
As dspin pointed out, soak it well...it's crazy how much liquid it will absorb! If this stuff turns out to be as durable as I'm hearing, it will be my new wick material.
I also got some 1mm and 2mm (hollow) from Stormy's but didn't have much luck on my first try...I may have wrapped my coil too tight.
I'll probably use those for my RDAs and use the TWIK for my GG attys.

RiverNut, is it actually a tan color or is that just the lighting in the photo?
I've got some hollow ekowool coming, but I am going to order this as well I think.

I might try to find 2mm, though... I use 2.5mm Silica now, and heard to use slightly smaller EkoWool. Any thoughts on that?

I have been using the hollow and don't see how it can get any better. However I am willing to try. I'll have to place an order and see if it is better I guess. Unless someone has more info on the subject.

is there a trick to wrapping coils on the hollow stuff? I though about putting a toothpick inside so when I wrap, the coils retain a proper shape.

no it's white so it's just the lighting in the photo. Yeah don't get anything bigger than 2mm because that is the ID measurement not the OD. I've got some 2mm hollow, pm me your address and I'll send you a sample to try if you like.

I didn't realize they had two different kinds. I have the one with the organic cotton inside.

No trick other than annealing the resistance wire prior to wrapping the coil. Not wound to tight[not me] as to choke the wick.

Exactly the same here. Some folks will align a sewing needle with the Ekowool where they will wrap the coil & then remove the needle when complete so the coils are not too tight when done.

So, my dual coil build on the German-made silica wick, coupled with Mr. Krinkle's method, has finally weakened today after 2 weeks of hardcore vaping. No issues other than some minor flooding yesterday.

I just installed a fresh dual coil in my Penelope with some Ekowool from Mr_Wick on Ebay, also using Mr. Krinkle's method (Short wick or no wicks in the channels), and we will see how it goes from here on. Took a few pulls and it tastes great so far, throat hit is awesome, and no flooding. I didn't boil the Ekowool but I did torch it a bit to get rid of any chemicals and particles, and torching supposedly helps keep the Ekowool from fraying.

For those that are curious, I am currently vaping on Havana's Gold from Alien Visions Juice, 100% VG, and it's a cigar flavored juice.

3mm Ekowool from stormyvaporcellar was too big for the channels. Now Im out of silica and had to make the Ekowool kinda work... I tried cutting the wick that goes in the channels in half but Its not really working lol. The coils wont heat up fast enough, or its not wicking or both. Im going to try no wick in the channels tomorrow. I dk but can someone tell me exactly what size of the TWIK will fit? I think I taste the cotton when I used it as a wick, do you taste it in the TWIK with cotton core?

The way I see it. When my 3mm twik ekowool gets here. I figure that you only need the actual ekowool on the coil(s) so when I rebuild my Penelope with ekowool the cotton core will go down the channels and the actual ekowool will be wrapped with the coil. Cotton is super absorbent. And right now cotton is what I'm using as my wick. But cotton doesn't last very long and I constantly rebuild. So I think the ekowool will act like kind of like a sheild to the cotton core.
