Sub and river. Are you guys telling me that if I wrap the end of silica, push through with needle, stand on one leg and howl at the moon, I might get the sonofa..... wicking well? Well....that explains why my wife is vaping happily while I learn to sew. And the looks she gives me I don't think my dogs have ever heard this much swearing in my house before. And yet, every weekend I keep coming back here to try again.

Frustrating day today, the coil I made yesterday with the Ekowool decided to do the same thing as the coil I made a few days ago with the German-made silica wick. Both of them gave one last burnt vape and then the ohm jumped to around 3-4 ohms. Anyone know what is going on here? The NR silver wire on the metal channel is not touching the mouthpiece at all, it is sitting against the metal channel. Is there a short going on somewhere that I don't know? I'm puzzled as to why this is happening at the moment. The only difference is that my unused silver wire is starting to change color, like how it normally corrodes but I doubt that is the issue.

I made another coil just now, Ekowool, dual coil, and Mr. Krinkle. I really do hope that it was just two really bad coils that I made.

Doke, are you sure that the neg wire is snug under the penny housing? No way it may be close contact to pos post? I've had that happen before. Similar results. 1.1, misfire, 3.0.

It has to be a full moon, if you do not do this on a full moon your coils will gunk up twice as fast.

Ok. Done. Hollow eko with .5 ribbon wire. I have to admit, I HATE it. Well, with Boba's anyway. The eko is NOT wicking, not keeping up, no matter how the MP is adjusted and how open it is. This is the polar opposite of what the cotton filled eko wicked like. I mean, 2 pulls, then dry. Wait, lay it down, whatever. 2-3 pulls, then dry. For those not familiar, Bobas is my wick eater - VG at it's best. This setup may be better suited for a VG/PG blend. I'll keep working it for the night.

This was the setup before the ribbon eko. It was 32g KanA1 wire on the cotton filled eko (Twik from ebay)

Boba is ma fuffer. When eko is juiced you can pull out strands of the braid one at a time. Pull'em till u get a proper feed.

Yeah boba is great, in flavor only. It destroys everything I put it in though. Maybe I'll try that too....next time.

Ok so I figured out why my coils were going bad and it's a stupid mistake on my part. The third coil I made for my Penelope failed on me while I was at my friend's birthday party, and it ...... me off to no end. I went into my friend's bathroom, sat down on the toilet, opened up my Penelope to see exactly what was wrong. I fired it and it would give off a very little vapor and it didn't even get that hot. I was a little stumped at first and then I pushed the silver wire hard against the wall of the metal channel side and VOLLA! It started to fire off like normal. Next thing I did was to grab my keys and to make sure that the silver wire was absolutely touching the metal channel, and then everything was good to go.

I was always told that the silver wire should rest inside the metal channel and to never touch the mouthpiece wall... but it never occured to me that it should touch the metal channel. Stupid me...

Because we are STUPID and don't learn our lessons too well. I keep trying, keep getting dry hits, then set it up with silica and it vapes good.

Like I said I'll speak for me. S T U P I D. I must enjoy punishment.

Oh aal, I can trash a coil in 1-2 days easily. And if I actually vape it instead of looking at it, it may be less.

Imeo, it's getting it below 1ohm either way. But I believe most would be duals. At least for me it would be as you taking your two premades at 1.5 each. But on various wicking materials it's a matter of how it keeps up with wicking.
Eko with Krinkle may work for some at say 1.5ohms. But when you go below a certain level it can't keep wicking. Many factors of course.

How is that compare to Silica@COV and cotton hemp?

I had the twik working great for a week at about 1.2 ohms in Penelope. But replicating that was a challenge with the 10 days or so I've had.

I set up my ekowool with inner silica last night. .6-.7ohm dual coils, 2mm ekowool on coils with 2.2mm silica down the channels. It was a little messy setting it up, trying to trim the ekowool around the silica, so I think next time I'll cut it to size or a little bigger, the only problem is it frays, but probably not a big problem.
Anyway, so far so good! I haven't been vaping on it a long time yet but so far zero issues.. Wicking well. The jury is still out, but honestly I may just go back to the tried and true silica.. It just works. If this build really jumps at me maybe ill keep using. I would be very happy if the ekowool performed like it did for me the last 2 days from start to finish! I like working with it more than silica.
So anyway, I'll let you guys know how it vapes all day!

You wouldn't have the nice things that you have today without some form of insanity. Hell, I bet Imeo whipped himself and ran naked on the streets for 2 weeks straight in order to come up with the GGTS, or something similar to that.

Jokes aside, the second Ekowool trial is going very well so far, crossing my fingers so that it will last for 2 weeks.

Its my fault mentioning inserting silica inside the ekowool lol. Sub I think it will be your best wick. Ekowool should dry burn better. Try to keep it for a month and let us know lol.
