Thanks for the link. I went ahead and ordered one sheet of 325x325. Saw Wal-Green has 4ply medical gauze for about $4. I'm assuming that will work OK if I want to try that method also.
If you have a Dollar Tree store around they have the non woven gauze which is what some on here use.

Once you try the mesh the guaze is going to sit on the shelf! The guaze is a mess to install right and pretty much has to be tossed and a new piece installed each time you pop the can, it also tastes like it smells, the mesh is pretty much a one shot deal, once you install it, you never have to touch it again, no matter how many time you re-wick or build from scratch with a newly wound coil.

This is me. I love the gauze and I don't have a problem putting it in. I actually enjoy it. I'm not knocking mesh but I've never had problems with the gauze. :)

I see SlowTech has the 2s for $6.67 each and the MS size for $10.51.

A couple questions; Oh High Priest of Tootling Cromwell, saw an old post of yours, where did you get Air 2s for $4 at?

Are the SlowTech GS 1.5 coils the same that SweetVapes sell? No more quality issues with one than the other?

Got them at a clearance sale at somewhere.. maybe when 777 went out of business. I forget.

Ohh and no longer a tootler. I use the .75 coils.

Hi Bruce,
Take me with a grain of salt–-PhlatTech has screwed me over rather badly on my last order, and I've decided to forego the "pleasure" of doing business with them ever again. That said, I've bought and used the non-authentic GS-Air coils from them, and have had no problems. Note, however, that the air hole in the coil bottom has a considerably smaller diameter than the authentic coils sold by Sweet-Vapes and others. The draw is tighter, not so airy. Otherwise, they perform ok.

Fake on the left, authentic eleaf coil on right.

Seems like a little vise and a drill bit of the proper size could correct that defect before you rebuild them!

GranFumador, Fasttech doesn't sell authentic Eleaf coils? I've only gotten 10 coils this past year, all from SV.

Important vape lesson learned today.

I gave some thought to a RTA. Honestly, with the luck I've had with the Airs, I'd already thought I might be trying to fix something that's not broke. Then I hooked myself with the idea of not having to use a premade factory coil at all. I hung out for awhile in the Kayfun Mini V3 thread. Even got me one of the Pluses.

Nope, not gonna happen.

I spent awhile on the Kayfun and it leaked on me and for me, way too fiddly. Not to mention so much more weight and complexity than the Airs part wise. No real difference in having to keep 3 different sizes of spare o rings than Air coil parts. Especially if I spring for the bag-silicone-insulators.

Screw that. I've gotten too good at building a consistent Air coil.

Yeah, I'll probably wear out 3 or 4 tanks a year with their crappy threads but I can live with that. Heck I'm still rebuilding the 10 coils I got this past year.

Time to start buying a little more Air stuff.

I'm beginning to think my worst vape decision so far was NOT buy the Whole 20 tank lot of like new
Airs for $40 and only getting 5 of them. Should have gotten every one of them.

I'm thinking of buying more M's because I have a feeling they won't be around forever. That is still my favorite tank with rebuilt coils. And you're right, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. :)

All of their dual coil heads are clones. I believe their 'authentic' gs air coil offers are limited to the unimpressive 0.15 ohm tc and the soggy, gurgly, leaky 1.2 cotton.
I'd stick to Sweet-Vapes or Rocky Mountain Vapor or another trustworthy vendor and skip the "bargain" clones.

I seem to recall some discussion, in the first Air thread, about the dangers of drilling the little guys out... something about going from chrome coated metal to whatever may be the substrate.

Yep, I should have noted the FT coils don't say Authentic.

Are the FT Authentic Airs as good as SW's?

Bruce in Ocala, Fl
I lost faith in FT so I'm not sure what's what, there. RMV is the way to go. All their stuff ships free if you spend over 14 dollars and I've always had quick shipping with them. :)
AND there's an ongoing 25 % coupon (president).

I ordered 4 of the Fasttech M clones yesterday. They were saying "In Stock". Today they say "Ships in 5 business days". I guess I bought the 4 they had:) I've had good luck with the MS clones except for the clone coil. I just don't like the small juice capacity.

I had several things on my wishlist and yesterday most of them were "In Stock" so I ordered a bunch of stuff. Now the wait for Vape Mail starts.

I bought 10 or the 1.2 ohm coils thinking they were the same as the 1.5 ohm ones! I haven't had any gurgle or leak problems with them, well none that couldn't be corrected by the blowing lightly into the driptip, then a couple of quick hard puffs after. Taste great at 14 Watts, for a throw away coil! One week of chain vaping on the first one and it is still going strong, once it dies Ill pull it apart and see if there is any way to rebuild it, but I don't think it is going to be possible as anything other than a vertical coil, and those just never work out right for me!

Cheechako, How in the heck do you get the outer can seated without destroying the Silicon insulator? I just trashed a 1.5 ohm coil trying to rebuild it, after I forgot to watch my juice level and burned the cotton wick. Yech that is a nasty taste, and yes the Sweet Vapes 1.5 coils are the dual coil horizontal one!
