Alrighty now, Fran........I have just about the same amount of new coils, plus about 50 of spent coils that are looking to be re-built.
You should never have to pop a coil out of the package again...for a very long time. :toast:

I am poverty struck.

I am rebuilding the 12 coils I got April-June of Last year. I think I have 2 insulators that are fried but the Cheechman helped me out there with a few new ones. I would have been in deep Vapchee if it weren't for Cheech's help with the vid and rebuilding.

Yeah, I DO need to get some new ones though... I actually am right at the end of my first 25' roll of 30g Kanthal too (that lasted me a whole year).

I think I got lucky. My VERY first attempt at making a coil. I think it was 5 wraps around a 14 gauge needle. The 400 mesh seems to be working well.

I din't see any "insulator" in the coil. I think I remember hearing some have them some don't.

I bought the 3lb box of Rayon from Sally's.

Out of all the coils I have disassembled, I saw very few insulators surrounding the coils.
I've never put one back in after removing it either.
Congratulations on your new found ability!

OHH wow I just have one bad coil....

Aye me too and it was a 1.5 ohm not the 0.78ohms which have become my standard. To think I didn't initially believe that anyone could get 10 weeks out of such a pre built coil - eating my words here now!

Hungh?
The insulators I was talking about was the plug thingies you sent me Cheech.
Not sure how you could rebuild one without that.

Some coils, rarely, came with insulation material surrounding the coils in the cap.
It looked similar to fiberglass cloth. Sooner or later you'll run into it.
I don't have a picture of it anymore and there was a big discussion on it way, way back in the thread.

It is actually true how long these coils can last - I know from my diary that the lady in the vape shop in Fuengirola gave me a GS Air for free, after I bought another iStick 40 w to convince me how good they were the day I got my pension on the 21st of March this year - 2 days later the 1.5 coil died; I replaced it with the supplied free 0.78 ohm alternative coil - which is still running.

What am I vaping? 18 strength DIY clear unflavoured e liquid using an iStick 40w set at 2.22 v or 6.1 watts....
