I haven't rebuilt a GS Air coil in awhile because I mostly use Ego One compatible CLR coils. They are much easier to work with.

I used SS mesh the last time. Here is a link to a blog entry by Cheechako that shows how to do it. Which one would you suggest for 70% VG juice?

I am running in TC mode, and it seems that the coil is heating too much/too quickly. It hits 550 right away and goes into protected mode. I lowered it to 20 watts but this is still happening. Vapes ok though so not too worried about it.

Check the preheat option in that case. It must be set so high that the protection is hit during preheat so lowering the wattage doesn't make any difference.

Which one would you suggest for 70% VG juice?

The 200 mesh works well for me. I vape around 65% VG. You might want to buy a couple different ones. They're not expensive. FT has 200, 250, 300 etc. If you look to the right side of the page I linked to, lower down , they list the different types. The higher the number the more threads per square unit.

Really, I don't have any preheat set. It just gets right to 550 in a second at 20 watts. Confusing!

I just installed newly bought SS mesh into the gs air coil and I'm blown away by the improvement in wicking. Couldn't contain my excitement so I had to post here. Thanks to everyone who suggested it. Now my stealth vape equipment doesn't have to be only about stealth

Why would they make it 15mm and not 14mm if they had to make it slim. Now it can't fit in the istick basic with the extra 1mm.

I have that same problem with 24mm tanks that won't fit on my iStick Pico, 23mm max! Seems almost all the new stuff is moving to 25mm, and I don't like thick mods that won't fit in my shirt pocket with my phone! That SS mesh does work a treat, and unlike the cotton mesh it most of the time stays in place when you are rebuilding your coils!

Which mesh did you use (500, 400, 300, etc.)? BTW, most of my juice is 50/50 and 30/70 (pg/vg).

I'm a Max VG guy. Pretty sure mine was the 300mesh, though I could be wrong and it was the 400! I've still got plenty, but the packaging and invoice is long gone so no way for me to be sure! Presently vaping a 97.2/2.8 VG/PG Strawberry Pound Cake juice I made up DIY, with all Super concentrate flavors and my nic solution is VG based also!

I'm 70VG and used 200 mesh. The lowest I could get.
